As you know, (or may not know) crafting tasks that are completed with higher level fuel and components pay MORE! But, you don't have to make the whole stack out of the higher end components. Only the first finished item in your stack needs to be made of the higher quality components!

1. Take a crafting task from Qeynos north (or freeport)
2. Create first object of the 10 that you will need to craft, with the rarer components:- (fairy blood, lizardman blood, etc...) + create all other intermediate items with the rarer items, if available.
3. Create the 9 other objects with normal components (water, candles, etc..)
4. Give the 10 objects to the quest NPC.

The price of reward was based on the price of first object craft.

Example: If the first object that you create, with items that drop from a mob are worth 2 gold 30 silvers, when you finish the CT task you should get 30 gold.

Try it and see.

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought that if a recipe called for a certain thing such as electrum that is what you must use. I didn't think you could substitute with a rare? Would you mind clearing this up for me? Thank You

Thanks for pointing that out. Fairy blood isn't really a "rare" as in something you'd harvest such as gold. It isn't rare at all, but it doesn't drop all of the time either. If you can hunt in Zek --it may be "rare" to drop... but not "rare" rare.

Fairy blood, like canine saliva acts as a water component in tradeskills and it drops from the following:

A Seamist Fairy
A Seamist Maiden
A Seamist Sprite
A Seamist Sylph

...and so to recap:

You need to a City Tradeskill task to create 10 things.

Must create the first one with looted items. (fairy blood or whatever)

You need only create the remaining 9 with simple components bought from a merchant.

When you return to the quest NPC and hand it in, you will receive an amount of gold based off of crafting 10 things with the looted items, even though you used NPC purchased items for the last 9.

As of June 23rd, this still worked, and I've heard of clains from people about making as much as 40 gp for one T5 task.
