When using AFK Tools such as 4=Quit Game do your toons need to be flagged AFK for them to work?

The following is a direct copy/paste from the KissAssist guide written by Maskoi found here KissAssist-Instructions-amp-Settings-Info:

[AFKTools] Settings

This was inspired as a mini version of AnonymousHero's AHtools. Mainly for semi afk playing to let you know if anyone is near while you are eating or doing the laundry. Its a small feature that will beep if PCs come into defined ranged and will pause all macro actions other than killing adds in camp. It also has a zone wide GM not in invis mode detection that fires off the defined command /quit is the default. This will probably be expanded on in future version.

AFKToolsOn=1 - Turn on/off AFKTools feature
AFKGMAction=0 Off, 1 Pause Macro, 2 End Macro, 3 Unload MQ2, 4 Quit Game
AFKPCRadius=150 - Radius to detect PC's. Will alert you and pause all macro activity
CampOnDeath=0/1 - 0=Off 1=On Default=0. Will camp to desktop on death.
ClickBacktoCamp=0/1 - 0=Off 1=On Default=0. Will attempt to click back to campfire using fellowship insignia.

So, no, your toons will not just /quit if someone is in range of your group unless that someone is marked with a GM tag. If a PC comes into range, then your group will pause and resume play when it is clear again.

If you want to execute customized commands in response to PCs coming into range of your group then you need to use MQ2Posse. There are many threads in these forums related to MQ2Posse and AFKTools. Here is a link to one: Quick-and-dirty-guide-to-setting-up-MQ2Posse

Also, read about the MQ2Posse plugin itself under the plugin list at the top of the site.

If you'd like more options than pausing or ending, check out GTFO.mac. (Download here.)

| GTFO! is for those who want to kindly give up their camp to strangers,
| automatically. When a stranger is within a certain radius, members of
| your group will follow the wizard or druid, who will evac everyone to another zone.
| You can then either /exit, or automatically return to action assuming you're in a fellowship.
|
| Please read about MQ2Posse and edit MQ2Posse.ini before running this macro.
| (You have to type "/posse on" on each character for the MQ2Posse.ini to be created)
| http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/25075-MQ2Posse
|
| USAGE:
| Step 1) Run gtfo.mac, edit the resulting gtfo.ini file, filling in all the sections for your needs.
| Step 2) Open MQ2Posse.ini (in your mq2 root folder)
| Under [Name_Commands] enter:
| "0=/endmac"
| "1=/mac GTFO"
| Do this for each character.
|
| To adjust the range:
| Step 1) edit mq2posse.ini and change Radius + ZRadius for each character
| Step 2) edit each character's kissassist.ini and set "AFKPCRadius". Make it the same as MQ2Posse's radius.
| All character's radius settings must match.
