Grab a forage macro. I've posted one here if you can't find anything better:
http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php?t=169

Set the yafm.ini to only forage what you want.

What should you forage? What sells? Here's a starter list (click to see what zones you can forage it in)

Plains Pebbles
Ashweed
Bamboo Shoots
Honey berry
Cauldron prawn
Cursed clover of viesar
Plant shoot
Lichenclover
Maneater bud
Seahorse roe
Plains roots
Steamfont spring water
Sylvan berries
Tuft of Dire Wolf Fur
Dragon Eggs
Wurm Eggs

There are many, many more foraged items that sell well so keep your eyes peeled. If you know of anything else that sells, please let us know.

After a good night of using the forage macro, sell your foraged items in the bazaar.

This is an EXCELLENT macro!! My druid is needing cinnamon sticks for baking. I am raking them in as I type this,. Thank you SO much, Redbot, for posting this macro!

This will become even more profitable now since the release of DoN, There are several items that can be foradged in Lava spinners lair and broodlands that are used for the new tradeskill recipies including the new smithing cultral armor.

The forage table in DON is just HUGE! So many different items to forage. I also heard the foraged items in DoN will be VERY usefull, so I went and got the three levels of foraging AA that let you get more than one item per forage attempt. Time to put the forage macro to good use.

I got the forage macro working fine. In order to only forage what I want, do I just need to set everything else I forage to 0? Or is there a way for me to forage what I want everytime?

It says to do this in your ini file ie: yafm.ini - whatever you don't want change to zero.

[Default]
MaxSave=100
[ForageList]
Roots=0
Pod of Water=0
Berries=100
Vegetables=100
Fishing Grubs=0
Fruit=100
Griffon Eggs=100
Rabbit Meat=100

I have been using this exact macro for a very long time and I must say it has made me my fair share of plat in the baz. One of the better selling forage zones is Natimbi. There are alot of items in there that sell pretty well. Also, for the new DON zones, I love this macro because the new "scale ore" which turns into Palladium is foraged. It is a very rare forage, but sells very well and since I have a 290 in jewelcraft, I can put very good use to this ore. I have yet to find a completely safe location to forage in Broodlands, but I check different areas every day. I usually stand rather close to the ZL out by the first dragon portal on the right. That way I can see trains coming and can take action if need be. I always stay camo'd though. I am not one to write macro's due to lack of experience, but I would love to figure out a way to incorporate "Improved Superior Camo" into this macro with a timer that recasts auto within 20 seconds of expire. One of the best things about this macro to me, is if you do find any safe area in a zone to forage, it is virtually undetectable since you are actually taking no actions, so it is a relatively safe macro to afk. For anyone who is just trying to use this macro to skill up, I highly recommend just going afk in the guild hall and use it there.

Don't really need to be camo, my pals and I always just warp under the ground/inside walls of the zones that we forage in. This is possible in most zones that we have tried, with a few exceptions that I ca't think of atm. Just have to /warp loc, and play with one of the axis till you get where you want to go. Now I'm sure that this would be pretty highly detectable by a GM, but on our server we have so few that we don't really worry about it.

can you get away with using the Hide skill in those areas. I usually click hide (with my Ranger) and I stay that way till I move from my location.

is there any macro or code to let other classes us forage? say a tank class or pure caster that is not playing a race that can.

Does anyone know the items to forage in the DoN zones that are good? If so could you post them here or PM me them please?

I don't forage much anymore, but when i did alot of it after DON was release, scale ore is highly sought after on my server. Drops off mobs and foragable.

Shaman will love you if you forage up Mature Silkworms and sell them at affordable prices in the bazaar. Also, foraging up Nodding Blue Lillies to sell in the bazaar makes them happy too. Both of those items are needed in alchemy to get your skill to 300.

Does anyone else know of good forage items/zones? Maybe we could get some input here then compile a list or something.

broodlands is nice, you'll usually see 4-15 other foragers parked in the notches in the south by zone to lavastorm.

There has to be some good dod stuff too, i'd imagine the further back you get the more and better.

Sorry Guys, I'm very new to this whole macro thing, and I was wondering what all I need to do to be able to work this stuff? Do I need special software to open the macros for viewing, or what?

open with notepad, if that looks kinda screwwy and has a bunch of squares try in wordpad. any txt editor will work though.

Where in the code do I edit to forage only the Items I want? And Do Berserkers have this ability?

The only classes i know of with forage are druids and rangers. I think a certain class has forage too, i can't remember.

Rangers are Druids are "Classes". I believe Bards can forage also, but i've never played one so I cant be sure.

all bards can forage, just that they are extremely limited. I believe it is capped at something stupid like 50 or so.

Clockwork grease from PoI goes for 100-250 on my server, the rarest forage but still not bad. I use the plugin myself, 5 stacks in about 6-7 hours

How do you get what to stop?
MQ2AutoForage commands are:
/startforage
/stopforage
MQ2AutoSkills (toggles on and off) command is:
/autoskills forage

This is true. However, what does the cap mean with regards to foraging? Just a lower success rate?

Lower success rate, and some items require a certain forage skill to even forage.

I thought they removed the required foraging level to forage things, to make racial forages not useless.

Racial Forage, capped at 50: Wood Elf, Iksar.
Class Forage, capped at 50: Bard.
Class Forage, capped at 200: Druid, Ranger.

The only "limitation" of low skill now, are lower chance of success. They changed a good while back, so you could still forage "rare" stuff with capped 50, since some items were used in Bard quests, and/or Iksar quests (from what I understand).

the higher your foraging skill the better chance you will get the more desirable items .. and less pods of water or fruit

thats why if you have forage bots... go ahead and get them the forage machette .. and give them the boost

ALL 5 of my forage bots have them

side note: I would also suggest getting your forage bots /cough HLF Druid up to 52.. and get them the 6 AA for the forage Bounty AA thingy

it is nice to pop 2 items at once

ALSO the YAFM macro works nicely .. but i added an extra delay in the hanldeitem sub ... so that it does not accidentally destroy the 2nd foraged items

I have used yafm before and it did work well. However, lately I have not been able to get it to work. I cut and pasted it into wordpad in text mode ascii format. when loaded it does not give me "cannot parse" msg but I am not foraging. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I know that Nodding Blue Lillys sell well. I know you can forage them in DL, but im not sure of the rate.

Anyone tried to forage these?

I have 2 boxes foraging in DL. You get Nodding Blue Lillys, as well as Drachnid Silks. Which is for tayloring master DoN silk gear. In one night I usually get, with both my boxes, about 100 sometimes 200 nodding's and about 100 silks a night. Have fun in DL

As I am not yet sure on doing the MQ2 thing yet (very competer unsavy) BUT I do use a Nostromo N52 Speed pad. Granted it will not sort out what you forage, but I use it for my overnight botting. I can easily get a few stacks of Nodding blue lillies this way (for those who were asking)

Some other good FOrage items would be:
Air-infused water - DON
Scale Ore - DON
Red Cups - DON alchemy
Chunk of ice - DON
Steaming water - DON
Steamfont water
Sylvan Berries - LFay **
Taelosian Tea Leaves - Natimbi
Ginseng - Natimbi
Mint - Natimbi
Rathe Berries - Lk Rathe **
Emerald Oranges - Emerald Jumgle**
Pitaya - The Devistation **
Pomegranite - Arcstone **
And many others ** denotes items used in brewing Juice of Quellious

Forage away! ;)

I know The Devastation does have a lot of nice stuff to forage for plat. You might want to try there for a little while and then head back to Freeport and see how you do.

Just curious about the forage level = beter forage items. I have 54 Woodelf druid with 220 forage (Have machete). Yet when I overnight in say, LFay, I get like 4-5 stacks of water pods and MAYBE 1 stack of sylvan berries?? am I doing something wrong or did they change the way skill helps in forage? :rolleyes:
