AdvTaskRunner2 is finally here! We made some major changes to the Runner version. The biggest change that you'll see is that the .mac file is nearly the same as the AdvTaskWarp2.mac. We have shifted the task procedures to an include file and updated the Zoner functions. We had some growing pains to work out with the first AdvTaskWarp2 load, if you experience any difficulties with te Runner2 version let us know!

The AFK Taskmaster series continues on into the new year. One of the longest ongoing macros, as it was started in Aug 2005 and still continues strong. With PoR SOE has attempted to nerf this by adding a 15 minute lockout timer, but hey it's better than the original 30 min lockout timer when OoW was released.

A word of caution though, because this mac has been around for awhile, it has been under the GM Radar a couple of times, I think is only when the GM's get bored. The majority of bans while using this macro has occured from other player's petitions. Be careful who you talk to in game.

The AFKTaskmaster currently has three versions, Caster, Runner, and Warp. The Caster and Runner versions do not require any special plugins and can be ran using a vanila compile of MQ2. The Warp version, as you can probably guess, uses MQ2Warp and MQ2Zone (sometimes called MQ2RWarp and MQ2Piggyzone). Everything you need is in the ZIP file. To use the macros extract the ZIP contents into your /Macros folder. Each version of the macro is separated into a different .mac file and the run commands are listed with each one. All versions of the macro use the same AdvTask.ini, thus if you only want to run the Giant Expedition (lvl 62-66) change the value to 1. If you do not want to run a task then give it a value of 0.

The AdvTaskWarp is setup to utilize any of the tasks listed in the INI, however, the Caster and Runner version are designed for level 62 - 66 Tasks, namely Giant Expedition, Mystic Ring, Lookout Below, and Scary Caves. The tasks listed in the INI file should range from 20 - 66.

AdvTaskWarp2 Notes: The lockout timer issues have been solved to the second. This includes the request timer, which used to be off by about 3 seconds. AdvTaskWarp2 is pretty much solid now, if there are any outstanding issues please post them. Send some RedCents to Siddin and Cobalt for their help to get this mac to run smooth again! Now it is time for me to update the Caster, Druid, and Runner versions!

First and formost I would like to thank anyone who contributed to this macro, and the people to come! Some ideas: Level range hot spots ( suggested task masters for 20-30, 30-40 etc.) and more tasks included.

We have been tossing that one around for awhile. I'll probably get it down during the repeated down time/patching that will be coming up this week.
 
There is allready some in there for that level and workin on more 30ish as we speak

Ah I miss read that ... yah we already have like 70 tasks ranging from 20 - 66 using 4 zones, also I am almost done formating a fith zone that will add like 15 more tasks.
 
wow, that's just, wow.....

- Added a timer to normal tasks. You can now only complete a task once every 15 minutes. As with shared tasks, the time counts from when you initially get the task, so if it took you longer than 15 minutes to complete the task, you can immediately get another one.

Well you can still do one here or there for the extra Exp or whatever. At least there will be tasks available to do? :confused:

No offense, but are you fucking kidding me? The task system as it was allowed people to go from level 20 to max AA in less than two months. Minor cheat? The 200aa that can be gotten in like 2-3 days of this that would normally take at least a month of hard grinding in RSS or the Nest...that's not a minor cheat. Not to mention all of the plat coming into the system, inflating the server economies. That'd be pretty damned major to me, if I were at SOE.

NoAccel is a minor cheat. Seeing spawns on your map is a minor cheat. Show Spells is a minor cheat. /stick is a minor cheat. /warp is a bigger cheat. /zone is a thorn in their side. AdvTask is like a bullet that nicked an artery and is spurting blood Monty Python style.

YES the Advtaskwarp is great, myself earned 250 AA on 1 character and 50 on another
me crying rivers when noticed timer was back
let s be patient and wait on a new MQ2exploit
 
I agree, Taskmaster was hardly minor. With my 'limited' playing time, I got more AAs in the last 2 days than I was able to get in the previous month of playing EQ. If I were any other casual player, I think I'd be "bothered", even if I wasn't "bothering" them per-say.....

Until they take the timer off again (doubt that will ever happen now) this one might as well be filed in the nerfed section =/ alot of people put a crap load of time into this... and sony slapped us... so.. how about we get even.. find sumthing just as good/better by putting our heads together and slapping them back 10x as hard?? they have seriously pissed me off atm due to things happening in game to my accounts.. (no i didnt get banned or anything) so feel free to use me as a guinea pig.. i will run whatever you guys need tested i dont care at all what the penalties are.. im here to get even and stick it to the man... just tell me what you need/want done

exp is exp .. so its not really nerfed.. just slowed down a little

i say keep it here we can always had a /delay 15min or somthin for those that want to keep it goin... sure there will be more exploits, and lets just wait we might find a bugged 70 task without a timer on it
and for all the work we all put into this its not really nerfed just slowed down....
when they remove the timer again (which will undoubtedbly happed again if not soon it will happen) ill dig up this thread again
 
I'm pretty sure they coded it in such a way that anything that registers as a task Starts a 15 min timer once accepted
 
oo yeah i forgot about that....

so you cant just add in a delay... you would have to get the average time it takes per task and put it a min higher incase you lag a bit or osmthin right?
 
or could you start a 15 min timer ones its started to automatically restart the task when its up?
 
Capture the time when you accept the task, capture the time when you complete, at calculate 15 minutes minus the elapsed time and delay if > 0.
 
while it waits for the task.. maybe the bot can do other things
like forage or somthing beneficial
 
Well I plan to keep working on this regardless of the 15 minute timer. Hopefully it will come down and if it does possibly I will have all the tasks that are remotely possible to be done without a fight documented. On the other hand with a 15 minute timer maybe I will start documenting some of the med to long tasks that do require some fighting and maybe incorperate a hunter macro with help of some of the more knowledgeable folks here. Maybe some of those can be completed afk (or Semi AFK) and fill up some of that 15 minutes a little better. It would be kinda nice to run the task warp you to the proper location start the hunter portion of the macro get required items and go to the next location to do the turnins all automated. I have seen more difficult macros out there made. Any thing that can make me learn more of this coding is a good thing for me. On a side note. My account did go from Suspended to Banned. So now I am working off one of my other 2 accounts. Sent Sony a mail asking about my account as I never did get any information as to why I was suspended. I was using the warp version and was away from keyboard about 30 minutes when I was suspended. Logs unfortunately were turned off so I dont know why I was nabbed. I do know I had the hiderun offset activated and that I was using /zone after I ran from the taskmaster aways away and then ran to the taskmaster after zone into dreadlands. Oh well hopefully with these other accounts it won't take me 7 years to get to 70 again. Maybe I will get the account back just won't do any testing stuff with it anymore.
 
I'm with LearningCurve on this one. Why you ask? Well ask those that were around when OoW was released and we did the same tasks with a 30min lock out. 15min ;lock out is still better than it was when we started this thing in Summer of 2005.

I still have all the original code that had the lock out handler, it is actually very easy to handle.

Where is this going to go from here? Probably going to add in some afk skill ups maybe some langauge stuff who knows .... go into chat and make some suggestions or even post the here ....
 
Maybe while it waits: takes u to zones you want and forages ; add in the baz idiot mac lol ; skill ups/ lang ; add in a hunter mod (maybe for bone chips/silks) ; anything you would otherwise leave afk.
 
Im for what ever you decide, as long as i can still walk away from the computer. I do hate the timer but hey sony sucks, the sad thing is i stopped my accounts and sent some feedback to sony saying i wouldnt pay them unless they take off the timer. Also i dont know if you made it or not but MQ2task.dll no longer works. So hopefuly i can get my hands on another one that works. On another note, adding "support" for MQ2task.dll would be great. I will admit i learned more from this macro then any other section on this site! I had some problems with advtaskwarp1 where i would zone slower than the macro and it was screwing everything up, but 2.0 looks great, i have been messin with it once the new compiles came out and im havin problems with /zone karnor "waypoint here" so i changed it to /zone karnor /warp loc *.* *.* *.* but seems to be a problem with compile cause i can type /warp bla bla and it will do it but not in macro. Theres a new compile out now i havent tryed it out again yet, so gonna start from scratch again before i repost any new info on macro. Sorry about my newbness but im tryin, thanks again for putting this out here, ive learned alot from this macro.
 
ok checked with new NDawg compile and its stops at either /call zoner or /call taskcheck

It seems they may have changed the way events are handled during zoning. I am will try to verify this tommorrow but I am not sure if there is a lot I can do about it at this point. Alatyami would probably be the person best suited to handle that, but you are right I think its hanging on /call zoner. If rumors are correct that they changed the way we zone then this is where your hangup is. :(

ok tryed it without /call taskcheck and its still hanging so your right, its the zoner code. Im gonna try just a quicky fix with /delay 60 and if the rest works then awsome. The rest of the code seems to be working great. Thanks again Alatyami for your time with this macro.

ok i did the following changes
/call zoner to /delay 60
macro is working (really fast) other than the timer problem, but with maxspam its still good. 2.0 kicks ass, thank you!

edit again:
ive noticed that once you get a task you dont hide, but the code says its part of the zoner code so i added
/if (${Me.AbilityReady[Hide]}) /doability "Hide" after each /doevents flush

hope this info helps ya Alatyami, but then again i am a newb

I would like if someoen could add a 16 minute timer in this, and mix in a forage macro. It would be very helpful if you are getting Nodding Blue Lilly's for your shami, or whatever zone you happen to need.

AdvTaskWarp_20060305.zip is finally completed!

There is a new sub for zoning ... It checks the MacroQuest.GameState thus it is much more effecient than the previous.

The lockout timer is a tough one. So until I find a better way it has a default 14m lockout timer. During that time it used MQ2AutoForage. Sorry non-foragers could think of anything for guys. If any one has some suggestions let me know.

I'll be updating Caster and Runner with the new functions. Runner really won't be effected by the lock out timer as it generally took 15min's to run them anyways. Who knows maybe that's why SOE set it at 15 instead of the old 30min.

Theres still a problem with zoner, on Mystic Ring on the final part of hailing im still in dreadlands when the macro decides to hail. Im going to try a /delay 60 to the zoner code and see if that will fix it.

Edit:
Ok i put the /delay 60 right under the /if (${MacroQuest.GameState.NotEqual[INGAME]} ) /goto :loop and it seems to be working now.
