Maybe I am blind (could be, been having vision issues since the stroke), but no one mentioned the plugin MQ2Grind? Very solid way to do AA leveling, and is mostly instanced so you tend to stay off the radar so to speak. Way more so than camping in a spot in an open zone. Might want to check it out. You have all of the requirements in your group - Tank, Heals, CC. I would make sure to get your SHM the Staff of Forbidden Rites, and then you are set!Hey All!
Returning back to EQ after a good year or so break. Finally got to 120 and want to find a nice camp to grind out AAs. Any suggestions?
I appreciate y'all
Edit:
I have a War, Shm, Rog, Mnk, Ber, Brd all with ToL T2 or higher :P
I appreciate the reply, I'll definitely check it out!Depends on your kill rate, but I find that the mobs in GD still award decent AA, obviously depending on your total. My pally with 55k only gets like 1 AA per 2-3 kills, but my toons with 20-25k get 1 per kill still. Having your rog you could farm the Akhevans in ME with assassinate the kill rate will increase.
That is going to depend a LOT on your class/group makeup. Mobs that are vulnerable to your class(s) will be better options than ones that are not generally. I've generally found that most any camp (or requested mission) that allows me to clear mobs reasonably quickly for the aa generated work. I find for melee groups with headshot/assassinate that is going to be generally mobs in NOS/TOL that are blue cons and not interspersed with lots of high hp PH's For Caster heavy groups golems/summoned monster camps give better xp.Hey All!

You are both capped on level, spells, AA until you purchase the latest expansion. When you do purchase, you then get access to 120, 3 expansions worth of spells/AA.Not to hijack the thread, but it has been a long while since i have played on live and had to purchase expansions. I do not have the new 1, so I cannot zone into certain zones (for some of the 115+ spells, etc.). Will I be able to level to 120 even if I cannot access the new zones, or will i cap at 115 until i purchase the expansion? I am sure the exp grind would be easier in the 115-120 zones, but if I were to take the slow grind would I get the exp?
TY
just to clarify, the latest expansion (NoS) didn't raise the level cap it was the one before (ToL). You can get 120 if you have ToL but not NoS.You are both capped on level, spells, AA until you purchase the latest expansion. Just to clarify, he stated he cannot get into the zones to get the 115+ spells, and since you cannot purchase ToL standalone anymore, there was no reason to entertain the idea. I never stated NoS was the cap to 120, I stated you needed to purchase the latest expansion to get access to 120 since he doesn't already have it based on his prior statement.just to clarify, the latest expansion (NoS) didn't raise the level cap it was the one before (ToL). damn, guess I'll take a short break in leveling @ 115 and work on old progression arc's for rewards/heroic AA things, do some epics, get my new guys up-to-snuff for the 115+ grind and eventually get the expac. Damn thing is expensive when I have to do it on 6 accts. Guess it gives me time to gain access and farm brews for the shm rez staff.
I should check this out no doubt. I am dabbling in trying out plugins and luas that I haven't seen before to make my life easier overall. Just got set up with the Easy Lua and the Overseer one which saves me a good bit of time with my 6 toons for sure.Maybe I am blind (could be, been having vision issues since the stroke), but no one mentioned the plugin MQ2Grind? CWTN and Grind are the two MUST-HAVE plugins IMHO. If you do nothing else - these are worth it.I should check this out no doubt. I never said you were wrong, just trying to add to the discussion since he also said he only didn't have the "latest 1." We're all friends hereJust to clarify, he stated he cannot get into the zones to get the 115+ spells, and since you cannot purchase ToL standalone anymore, there was no reason to entertain the idea. I assumed he didn't have CoV either, but that was an assumption on my part when I stated 3 expansions worth of spells/AA.

I read that as he now has access to all but the newest expansion but cannot get some of the spells.I am going to have to side with Knave on this one. he said and I quote... I do not have the new 1, so I cannot zone into certain zones (for some of the 115+ spells, etc.).
I guess the thing we need to know for certain is which is the highest expansion you currently have access to? You stated you don't have the last one, does that mean you do have access to ToL? If you don't have access to ToL and newer then you cannot access any of the AA's, spells, or zones offered. Currently ToV is the highest expansion that is open to all for free. If you purchase the newest expansion you will have access to all former content as well. There is no way, at least that I know of, to purchase any older expansions, but why would you if they are the same price as the new one and buying the new gets you all of the old as well. If you don't have access to the new stuff then you are destined to grind it out in ToV until your eyes bleed. Not to hijack the thread, but it has been a long while since i have played on live and had to purchase expansions. Exactly this. Unless you are running a krono burn to get to max AA in a month, I wouldn't sweat the grind much. I would instead pick a goal such as completing ToL or NoS collections on your toons. By the time you have camped the dropped ones in each zone you will have earned quite a few AA's, and the collections will net a bunch more. That's one thing I regret from grinding AA's early - the lost AA's when eventually doing the other stuff.I hate grinding XP for Just xp. Much better to look up some camps for augs and just get those items. XP just sort of happens as an afterthought.

I will make a suggestion for you people that are returning players and do not have access to 116+ content. DO NOT complete the ToV group missions until you gain access to ToL+. Why you might as do I say this? Well two reasons. First is that you are going to be stuck in the expansion anyway so save those big exp gains for when you need to lvl up again. Second You will thank me later when you need a big chunk of exp since mobs are worthless for exp now.
TOV and TOL are the two with bigger rewards for merc/partisan and mission achieves... And if DBG follows the pattern the same will be true of level increase expansion missions and questsNOW you tell me!
lol jk, but yeah I found this out the hard(ish) way.. I went through most of the xpac achs looking to see if there were comparable xp rewards for completing merc/partisan/hero and literally its all AA or nada.. I was hoping that when DPG nerfed the crap out of mob kill xp, that they maybe snuck some XP reward in to the quest rewards...
APPARENTLY .. not..
Seems thats a new xpac thing ToV, going forward.. but skipping CoV.. those ones were nowhere as good.. hoping that ToL and NoS are better.. but they will equally be harder..
ahh ok , so the lvl increase ones, but not so much for the followup ones (CoV and NoS i guess) ?TOV and TOL are the two with bigger rewards for merc/partisan and mission achieves... And if DBG follows the pattern the same will be true of level increase expansion missions and quests
Generally that seems to be the case. Something on the order of 2% per initial completion and AAahh ok , so the lvl increase ones, but not so much for the followup ones (CoV and NoS i guess) ?
I didn't even look at ToL or NoS because I don't have those xpacs on my full group yet.. I was a bit concerned though because ToV being the recommended one is already 3 xpacs back..
U have enough dps there to do the ME humanoids up top. They all have names like rares.. there are also 2 buildings in the best location which can spawn names and drop random loot and ores/ its basically nw part of zone, just inside that wall. . I typically use the round building as my base. park my campfire to the front left of it. Your rogue will annihilate everything with assassinate. most of the time pulls r nice and easy. sometimes when u get lazy u get 5... dont be lazyHey All!

max u get is 3 and most times thats if you are actually trying to get 3... u can pretty much max out at 2 per pull if u really want to. See I read this:I read that as he now has access to all but the newest expansion but cannot get some of the spells.

Am curious why you cannot get into the zones to buy the 115 spells? Those are TOV which it the free account expansion cap so all accounts can go there. Not to hijack the thread, but it has been a long while since i have played on live and had to purchase expansions. ToV Level Cap = 115. Spells are in Eastern Wastes.Am curious why you cannot get into the zones to buy the 115 spells? Those are TOV which it the free account expansion cap so all accounts can go there.
RK I TOV level 115 spells can be bought right when you zone into The Eastern Wastes. This you can zone into with free account via the guild portal (Buy a "Brilliant Frigid Gemstone" for 420p) or No Ro to Belinda and ride griffon to EW
RK II are tradeable and often for sale in baz as are most other spells.
.My bang for the buck (least time spent in game for AA's) is 3 of TOV HA's, then repeat.
1. Get to GD2 and place your cheap campfire at Horasug in the caves in The Great Divide. (To quickly return for the HA Seeking the Sorcerer)
2. Run to Zrelik the Brave at the waterfall for HA Restless Assault get mission, don't use any burns, you won't need them - you will want them for Seeking the Sorcerer!
3. POP LOTD once you have finished fighting & right before you open the chest. - force loot to one toon. Use campfire. Land, drop mission, See Horasug and get HA Seeking the Sorcerer (you save a zone out and run that way)
4. Pre-target the 2 Mini-Bosses that are up, Burn, move to 2nd burn, burn 3rd run and open chest - force loot - you can ignore the adds BTW they despawn once the 3rds dead. Cast anchor to your guild hall, drop mission, wait for burns to refresh - eat a sandwich.
5. Set portal to EW, See Bethun Brewbeard for HA Griklor the Restless, zone in, /tar Grik and add him to your extended target window. Activate mission with the NPC at the ruins. Follow Griklor twice till he falls, Burn, loot, scoot & drop mission!
I don't do the Kael mission, I either over DPS it and don't have the moxie to tank it all upstairs, or I run it medium speed and the lesson could run out - Instead I:
6. Camp out (to save my lesson) in EW for the 5 hours or so for the mission to refresh, log in see Bethun Brewbeard burn HA Griklor the Restless again, campfire back to Horasug and Burn HA Seeking the Sorcerer again. Usually have a few minutes left and 130 or more AA's depending on Fellowship exp bonus being filled or not.
I don't have a porter in my crew and only use 3 toons, there are faster ways to do this with a better class make up, I see OP states they don't have a port class in their group make up either, so this seem applicable.
I used to pop in and do a couple TOL missions instead of revisiting the TOV ones but at this point, I don't need them for anything (vendor coins etc) and I have the time to log out and wait - if you want to keep playing, of course just hit ME and run those.
I'm only very recently back to the game, so I am a bit naive to some of these..How funny that I do something quite similar but always felt I was behind the curve as many seem to like the grind in one location.
When trying to max a toons AA, I start in EW with last of the storm boars quest. Super fast to kill 9 mobs and get 23 aa and it only has a 30 min lockout. When done, I do griklor, then port to horasug, then spank Shei (not a ton of aa, but rk 2 spells and currency is nice and it's a fast kill), then go back to storm boars. Takes less than an hour as I don't need burns at all for any of them.
It just seems smarter to run the missions as opposed to camping in TOL where so many others can see you and possibly report you.

The ToV missions and quests are re-doable for AA/xp? I thought they were a one-and-done type?
"When trying to max a toons AA, I start in EW with last of the storm boars quest. Super fast to kill 9 mobs and get 23 aa and it only has a 30 min lockout" <-- So glad I posted, I thought that The Last of the Storm Boars was changed at some point and didn't apply the AA's when you repeated it. I will now happily add this back to my AA run - thanks for sharing! How funny that I do something quite similar but always felt I was behind the curve as many seem to like the grind in one location.
