so this doesn't effect the game much but is fun for creating themes... on Rp servors and helps undestand the backround of WoW a bit. All of this material is issue from books sights and other things... I have invented none of this.
At first there where the Titans, these were a powerful metellic skinned race/gods that travelled around the "great dark beyond" trying to bring stabillity to the universe. They shaped the various worlds and empowered the present races so that they could ensure safety on their planet.
The elite sect ruling the Titans known as "the Pantheon" brought peace and stabillity to hundreds of millions of worlds scattered through the Galaxy.
They assigned the greatest "warrior Sargeras" with the defense against the demonic entities of the "twisting nether". But Sargeras having fought Demons for thousands of years became confused and disorientated and eventuall mad.
Having lost faith in the duty he ad been assigned too he realised that chaos and darkness where the only solutions. He felt it was titans fault that their creation had failed.
He then created the burning legion and began the cleansing of the Universe. He freed all the demons he had imprisoned and named to of the most powerful Eredar to be his commanders: Kil'jaeden the deceiver was sent discover the darkest races in he universe and raly them to the Titans cause while Archimond the Defiler was appointed to lead the demonic horde against those who opposed sargeras' will. It is still unclear the amount of worlds that where destroyed by Sargeras' army.
Unaware of Sargeras' plan the Titans continued their work, created and modelling the worlds until they discovered a world that would later be named by its inhabitants Azeroth. The titans spent many ages modeling and perfecting this world until there was a perfect continent with a powerful lake in the middle of it , the Well of Eternity. This was to be the source of life that empowered life to develop on this perfect continent.
As twilight fell on the Titan's last day of laour, they named the continent Kalimdor, The land of eternal Starlight. Before the left, they granted the greatest speceis of the universe with the task of watching over this world.
THe Pantheon granted a fraction of its power to the fie great dragon leaders who became known as aspects: Ysera, she of dreaming; Nozdormu, the timeless one; Malygos, the magician; Neltharion, the earth warder(later knonw as Deathwing) and Alewtrazza the mistress of life.
