Hi All,

First, I'm glad to join you all as I've been a long time player, boxer, and isboxer user. This is my first time using MQ2 in any form.

The forums have been very helpful and the community also seems pleasant as well!

So for my question:
My setup is a 3 box with one box per monitor (all same size/res). Is there a way for MQ2login (perhaps with some added scripting) to relocate my 3 characters to their appropriate monitor each time I fire it up? I play in windowed mode for the most part. Additionally, I'm not currently using ISBoxer as I don't find the need for broadcasting given the capabilities of MQ2.

Cheers,
Neb

Howdy Nebulism - Welcome to VV

Personally I still use isboxer for window management (tho, mq2 does so well, I don't even care to see my other toons these days and just keep them in the background with MQ2EQWIRE

I'm not sure if you can automate moving stuff around with anything mq2 related, but I wanted to reply so you know people are seeing your post!

I use 3 different EQ directories. It's only a little bit of HDD space. I have 2 that each open in their own screen (one at 1080p and one at 1440p) , and 4 that open stacked on the 3rd screen at 1080p, cause... I don't know, now that you mention it. Either way, I have 3 autologin groups set, 1 for each. It's a matter of just clicking load all on 3 sets of chars. Still beats doing it manually i reckon.

How are you launching the clients?

Also, Innerspace seriously solves all of this. I rarely use repeater and never mapped keys yet I buy it yearly just for window and team management. I use PowerShell to launch my team of 54 and it takes about 90 seconds (depending on network lag that day) to get them all in the world. There’s no bullshit, no tricks I have to perform, just windows where I expect them.

To my knowledge, no, MQ2 will not do window management like you ask, nor does Windows 10 have tools to do this (to my knowledge). You would need a third party solution for this. Auto Hotkey would be a free solution if you know how to script AHK language. PowerShell itself also might do this, i’ve never tried.

Edit 1: Apparently in Powershell, it isn't the easiest thing to do natively without some .NET work entering the mix, but you can get this module named WASP to make PowerShell do what you want.

Thanks everyone for the additional replies! At the moment, I'm launching with MQ2autologin. And for now it's not too punishing to just a quick manual move of the windows and move on. I do agree that isboxer is wonderful when it comes to window management and a few other features. I may just bite the bullet on that one or use one of the other options.

Cheers,
Neb
