I wonder if it will exclude tradeskills.

- - - Updated - - -

I read somewhere (can't find it again) that '/aaspend bonus on' buys AA's post auto-generate expansion skills. If so, then that would/should exclude tradesills. We shall find out.

Anyone just starting out with this like I am, here is a good thread that contains INI's ppl have posted. Probably out of date, but a good starting place if you want to manage your AA expenditure yourself.

This a plugin and you create a list to buy just the AA's you Want. The brute force options starts in the class section then works its way through archetype then to general.

From the thread I mentioned above, this means that if you use the brute force option it will cycle thru the AA tabs starting from Class, to Archetype, then to General, which is what I would want. I am posting merely to help those like myself just starting out with MQ2AASpend.

I've been using brute, myself. If I had the time I'd rather go through and buy the AA's in the order that makes the most sense (like Raz's afnuke2 will if you set that up). Frankly, I'd need to do too much research, so I just went with what I've got that's easy (brute ftw). I'll probably check out the class .ini's to see what they have for chanters and shammies before I get too into AA's on them.

For what it's worth for shammies:

If sole healer and 105, rejuvenation of spirit (96% ooc rez) > heal aas > canni aas > hastened canni aas > turgur's swarm aas > malo aas (if no Mage) > pathosis aas > third spire aas (if melee group) > hastened 3rd spire aas (if melee group) > ancestral aid aas > hastened ancestral aid aas > Union of spirits aas > hastened Union of spirit aas > gift of mana aas > DoT aas > nuke aas > defensive aas.

This is assuming you have a bard. If not then rank cheetah aas above gift of mana aas. I usually preferred hastened aas over the base aas, but I can't exactly say to get those first if I have to assume 0 starting aas.

If no other available form of Invis / lev, then get group perfected lev and perfect group silent presence for perma Invis / lev.

For chanter, if you have a wizard there is a class aa in chanters that makes their Tash apply another debuff that increases the damage of the main wizard spell line. But I'm pretty clueless about chanters so no idea what would have higher priority.

If shaman isn't your sole/main healer, then move heal aas down to probably after defensive aas for whatever spot heals are needed.

Hope this helps. It's not going to be all encompassing since I'm not at my computer and am going from memory on what would be solid aas for shamans to have for kissassist

This was very helpful. Thanks for that! I've been starting from scratch here, so anything is useful. My next step was going to be to start looking at lvl 105 shammy and chanter existing kissassist .inis to see what spells/aa's and stuff were firing and then to concentrate on those. My shaman isn't 105, yet, so there's plenty of time to work on levels and do some of these AA's along the way. My chanter is 105 but with just heroic AA's.

Thanks much!

There is a huge difference in using bonus on versus autogrant and/or brute force.
Let me explain:
So i tested these options on 2 new warriors over the last month.
The 1st warrior I just checked autogrant and he had brute force on.
It took 2 weeks to get to 8500 aa and level 105.
The second warrior I did NOT check autogrant I just set him to bonus on.
It took 3 days to get him to 105 and about 2k "bonus on bought" aa's.
At that point I checked autogrant logged out to charselect and then back in and he now had 8500 aa.

So as you can see, unless you really need your char to have a bunch of aa while he is leveling, bonus on is the way to go.
This works best for Power leveled alts, so of course, it's not something I would do for a char when it's soloed or moloed, but if you already have a group you can stick a char in, you should absolutely NOT use brute force or autogrant...
Bonus on kinda works like brute force with the only difference, it will only buy aa's from the last 4 expansions. (Since those aa's are in fact NOT autogranted) this also means no he will not buy tradeskill aa's and stuff, just aa's from the last 4 expansions and tradeskill aa's came out earlier than that...

eqmule:

Thanks much for the info... I suspected that might be the case, and since I do have a group I can throw the dude(s) in it's less of an issue if they aren't helping out as much as they would otherwise be.

I've noticed that /aaspend bonus on gets kinda hung once in awhile. I have bank=50 and bonus on and it works for 12 to 24 hours then stops purchasing AA's. It fills up AA bank and then wastes the XP. I've had to re-execute the /aaspend bonus on command like twice a day to keep that from happening. I check 'status' and everything looks good... Anyone have a solution? If I forget to reset it I waste a night of grinding.

Ah Raz posted in another thread he noticed same thing. He reminded 'us' to /aaspend save which I had never done. Will see if that solves it.

Is there a way to get your AA's to master dump into an ini file or copy paste somewhere versus manually entering all of them?

very vanilla includes a macro name dumpaa.mac that gets the basis for this, you still have to do some sorting and filtering in excel to remove the item abilities and possibly tradeskills

it creates a text file with the AA's that you can then copy over to your aaspend section of your .ini.

it doesn't prioritize them or etc, just lists.

It won't waste any time spending points on AA's that autogrant buys for you.

I can't get mq2aaspend to work... what am I doing wrong?

Rich (BB code):
[MQ2AASpend_Settings]
AutoSpend=1
BruteForce=1
BruteForceBonusFirst=0
BankPoints=90
[MQ2AASpend_AAList]
[MQ2ViewPort]
VPResize=1

Using those settings, your toon should be waiting to bank 90 AA and then buy the first available AA, regardless of if it's granted via autogrant.

What behavior are you expecting via mq2aaspend, and what are you seeing?

This is working fine for me on cazic, but I just use the bonus spend and don't bank anything. Once I turn it on it will start buying AA on ding and when I have enough AA for the next Purchase.
I just do a /bcg //aaspend bonus on and then /aaspend bonus on on my focused toon. That activates it for my 6 toons.

You need to set either AutoSpend or BruteForce to 0. They are two different modes for the plugin, I doubt it will handle both at the same time very well.

AutoSpend requires you to set up a list of what you want your points spent on.
BruteForce buys the all the AA's in your class tab first, then focus, then archtype, then general and finally special.

You can read up on the plugin here.

So with the addition of amazing Focus AAs I was wondering whomever is updating this plugin can you please have the BRUTE buy all the FocusAAs 1st then back to the regular whatevers it buys....

Yea, it's buying my focus AA's just fine. There aren't many EoK Class AA's for any of the classes, so it should get to the focus ones pretty quickly.

Can someone explain what /aaspend bonus means please?

IIUC

You get a xp bonus on your first 2k AA's. Doing autogrant first basically trumps that...
Autogrant does not grant any AA's for the last 4 expansions. therefore if you buy your 2k AA's that you get bonus xp on in those 4 expansions FIRST then you get a huge advantage vs. just doing auto grant.

note the difference between 'autogrant' and 'aaspend bonus'. One is an ingame function and one is a MQ2 Function.

Again I ask can we please get it to buy all your FOCUS stuff!

You mean as part of the "/aaspend bonus" setting? Because it bought all my focus stuff wonderfully on normal "/aaspend brute" mode.

Hmm have never used this plugin in the past and tried to set it up on my toons today

/plugin mq2aaspend
/aaspend bonus on
/aaspend bank 20

My assumption was when I dinged an AA it would buy the AA's I need past level 95 that autogrant did not provide... does not seem to do so

When I do /aaspend bonus now it does buy an AA

a 105 toon with EoK can now bank 210 AA.... I set my banked to 200 so that I can cherry pick stuff to add and it lets me know I am getting AAs...

Not sure if it is a bug or a feature but if you set your file to:
Rich (BB code):
[MQ2AASpend_Settings]
AutoSpend=1
BruteForce=1
BruteForceBonusFirst=0
BankPoints=200
[MQ2AASpend_AAList]
0=Spell Casting Subtlety|M
1=Pyromancy|M
2=Mnemonic Retention|M
3=Silent Casting|M
4=Prolonged Destruction|M
5=Arcane Destruction|M
6=Arcane Fury|M
7=Fury of Ro|M
8=Fundement of Intellect|M
9=Fundment: Second Spire of the Arcanum|M
10=Improved Twincast|M
11=Lower Element|M
12=Concussive Intuition|M
13=Acute Focus of Arcanum|M
14=Arcane Whisper|M
15=A Hole in Space|M
16=Improved Familiar|M
17=Kerafyrm's Prismatic Familiar|M
18=Eradicate Magic|M
19=Forceful Rejuvenation|M
20=Banestrike|M
21=Spell Casting Fury Mastery|M
22=Twincast|M
23=Hastened fury of the Gods|M
24=Fury of Kerafyrm|M
25=Distructive Fury|M
26=Quickened Silent Casting|M
27=Spell Casting Fury|M
28=Claw of the Indagatori|M
29=Cloudburst Stormstrike|M
30=Combusting Beam|M
31=Ethereal Flash|M
32=Flashrime|M
33=Narendi's Fire|M
34=Rimeblast Cascade|M

It will Auto Buy everything on the list of MQ2-AASpend_Settings then will brute force the rest of your AAs!

This command is not currently working.
Rich (BB code):
/aaspend order 21354
No echo and nothing showing up ini file even after
Rich (BB code):
 /asspend save

Then you haven't updated it.
Doing just /aaspend should return help for it, which includes the order help.

Would it be possible to make MQ2AASpend (or any other plugin for that matter) able to level a toon, switch his XP to max AA for the level, once it's maxed switch back to regular XP again until next level, max AA etc?`
I don't think it's possible today, but how feasible would it be to implement the feature?
Grinding AAs each level is WAY faster than maxing levels and then grinding out AAs, since the AAs recieved per kill is way higher at lower levels. I'm certainly not a coder, but if someone can come up with an automatic solution to this I would be eternally grateful.

I did this manually with my first warrior on a double XP weekend during TDS and had him from heroic to 105 and max AA in less than 36 hours (using fellowship), so it's not a half-assed measure.

just leave you xp on aa. then when its maxed for that level it automatically switches over to regular XP and then back to aa when you hit the new level.

Setting up the AAspend plugin guide

This is a guide for those that want to choose which AAs they buy first and worry about the useless shit later.

So being new to using AAspend, there were a few WTF moments along the way in trying to set this up, so I'd like to share what to do to get this going as smoothly as possible.

1) Make sure the plugin is selected in your update file when you run the updater.

2) Activate Plugin in MQ2
All of the basic information that you'll need to activate the plugin can be found here. AAspend plugin This creates an ini file, BUT DOES NOT POPULATE YOUR CURRENT NON-SPENT AA INTO THE INI.

a) activate plugin /aaspend auto on <----this will populate the settings of aaspend into the ini, NOT your actual AAs.
b) /aaspend bank 200 <---This will allow you to bank 200 aa before spending, important in the cases where AA cost 100
c) /aaspend save <---save your current settings
d) You will need to import your AA from your character into the ini, which is the same ini as you would find your melee configuration in the Servername_toonname.ini in the Release folder NOT YOUR KISSASSIST_TOONNAME.INI

3) Create the AAlist.mac file

Use the code below that was made by others that includes the latest EoK expac AA to import your characters AA into a file that you can copy into your AAspend ini. The original post can be found here. AAlist.mac

a) Open notepad on your computer
b) Select the code below by selecting the select button.
c) Right click into notepad
d) Save it into MQ2>Release>Macro folder as AAlist.mac <----you must type the .mac at the end of the file extension
Rich (BB code):
| AAList.mac  Wolfborn 09\17\2014 Version 0.0.0.1.0.1
| Sole purpose is to list AA from the latest expansions
| House of Thule, Veil of Alaris, Rain of Fear and CoTF

Sub Main
	/declare a 	int
	/declare b 	int
	/declare x 	int
	/declare i 	int	0
	/declare ExpName    string local
	/declare AAName 	   string local
	/declare AACost 	   int local

				    /ini "AAGrantList.ini" "MQ2AASpend_AAList" "${i}" "${Window[AAWindow].Child[List${a}].List[${b}, 1]}|M"
				    /echo ${i}=${Window[AAWindow].Child[List${a}].List[${b}, 1]}
				    /delay 5
				    /varcalc i ${i}+1
		                }
			/next b
		/next a
	/next x
	/echo
	/echo -------------- DONE!! -------------------
/return

4) Run the AAlist.mac

Go to the character that you want to import their AA and type /mac aalist in the mq2 window. This will import the non-spent AA from that character into a AAgrantlist.ini in the MQ2>Release>Macro folder
IMPORTANT: ONLY DO THIS ONE CHARACTER AT A TIME

a) You are going to copy this file and put it in your server_toonname file in the release folder under the:
Rich (BB code):
[MQ2AASpend_AAList]
0=Innate Metabolism|M
1=Innate Run Speed|M
2=Mnemonic Retention|M
3=Divine Arbitration|M
4=Healing Adept|M
5=Healing Boon|M

5) Prioritize your AA

Now that you have your AA imported into your AAspend file, you want to order them in the highest rank of importance for auto setting to spend points on.

Below is an example (not prioritized) of a cleric's AA list. You will want to align the AA that you want to buy in chronological order and AAspend will go down the list maxing (|M) those AA before proceeding down to the next one.

6) Load AAlist into MQ2

Now go to the characters game window that you imported these AA from and in the mq2 window type /aaspend load

a)Verify that your files have been properly loaded by typing /aaspend status <------ You should get the read out stating INI has 119 abilities listed (Number will vary). If you do not then restart from step 4. If you still have the populated AAgrantlist file, then you can start from step 5.
b) Once you have the correct aapsend status. Type /aaspend save

How this particular setup works is that since we are wanting to bank 200 AA before we spend, we have the Bank set to 200. This will bank 200 AA and then spend them in the order that you populated the server_toonname file. For example, say you have an AA that costs 50 AA for the next tier of the Holy Smokes AA. Once your bank AA reach 200, AAspend will spend the required 50 AA on this AA dropping your total saved AA down to 150. The reason you want to do this is so that you can pay for the higher costing AA. Technically you could set it for 100 as that is the highest cost per any AA in the list.

Summary on setting up AAspend.

1. Make sure you have the plugin installed.
2. Run the plugin by either typing /aaspend brute on OR /aaspend auto on
3. Download the necessary code AA import file and save it in Notepad as AAlist.mac <---manually type the .mac and save it in your MQ2>Release>Macro folder
4. Run the AAlist mac in your MQ2 game client window /mac aalist
5. Open the newly created AAgrantlist file and organize the AA in the order of importance to you.
6. Copy the contents of the AAgrantlist into that characters server_toonname file in the Release folder and save.
7. Go to the game client of this character and type /aaspend load in the MQ2 window
8. Verify the data populated by typing /aaspend status <---It should report INI has 123 abilities, IF IT DOES /aaspend save, IF IT DOES NOT, YOU MUST RE-COPY AND PASTE. ONLY SAVE /aaspend save ONCE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT SETUP.
9. Set your desired amount of AA you want to acquire before spending /aaspend bank 200 <--This number can be whatever you want, just make sure it is higher than 100!
10. You must use /aaspend auto on if you want aaspend to use the order of AA that you determined. THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH /aaspend brute on
11. Once you have /aaspend auto on, your desired AA bank set, type /aaspend save
11. Verify it is working by watching your AA window when you approach 200 AA. It will automatically buy the next AA in the order you specified.

Have a nice day!
