Question - 2 factor security

Hey all, I made my first 6 box about 2 months ago, no problems. I wanted to add a few more toons to mix and match my setup so made another 6 and did since then pl'd them myself to about 40.

Then, around 2 weeks after making the second batch, the 2nd group get hit with required 2 factor security.

Some posts seem to suggest it may be too many accounts on 1 email, or too many made too quickly?

They never got banned for anything, or even had programs running since they were just being PLd.

I'm guessing that 2 factor would mess up autolog feature, which would suck.

Since they are only 40ish, is the suggestion to just reroll new toons, or is there a way to ask them to remove the req for 2 factor? And, any suggestions on making the actual accounts? Make it over a few days, or... different emails?

Thanks!

Its not because you used one email. I use one email for all of mine because I didn't log into the other emails often enough and the email company cancelled them and I got tired of messing with all those emails, but that is my preference.

They (EQ) can just randomly do this for no reason. But it seems to happen more often when you make more than a few accounts each day. If you want to avoid it just don't make them all in one day.

Also don't buy Krono or a ton of stuff from them right off the bat on a new account - that can trip it also.

It is also an option you can put on your account if you wanted to. Its not always forced by them.

So plug in a cell and be done with it. Some players blow it way out of proportion. Like after 20 some years they are going to spam us and no one has mentioned it?

And yes, it is only one time and not everytime you log into EQ. Some folks say they can even change their password without going thru it.

when they changed their launcher stuff a year or two ago, they definited ramped up their desire to flag all accounts they can with what they call "2 factor auth"
