The zerker is equal lowest level in the group, and SOMETHING I've got him doing is pissing off everything.

Pet tank is my main problem, I don't have a real tank yet. He's getting there but it's a slow process.

Attached is ini.

Bah something I'm running in browser won't let me put anything in a post after I /code it.

Any ideas? Is it just that he's pretty pathetically geared at the moment and all the mobs noticed?

your problem is that Zerkers are high DPS, So will be high on the Mobs hate table, and mobs will go after real players rather than pets every time.

Untill you can get the AA silent Strikes on your Zerker to lower his hate, and get a proper Tank this is a problem your going to have to put up with.
best way to cope with it at moment is equip your pet with Hate generating weapons/buffs Assist a little later say 90% to make sure Pet has built up plenty of Hate on mob.

are you sure your mob isnt being rooted? binding axe roots mobs in place, and if a mob is rooted in place it will target the nearest played character, not NPC/Pet

Sometimes on low melee guys with crap gear/hp, it's riposte dmg from the mob. Try "snaproll rear" for positioning (it can look a little botty, so switch back once they have the hp) If you wanted to keep mq2melee on, you'd need to make this StickHow change in your server_toon.ini in the Release folder instead.
Code:
[Melee]
StickHow=snaproll rear
UseMQ2Melee=0

If the mobs are getting rooted (as noted above and maybe by earth pet?) then you need to use more advanced stickhow settings to keep your distance back farther. If you're running earth pet, try air pet. It's stuns give it great aggro control.

Try putting Dicho Rage at a lower percent in DPS. It's a HUGE dmg spike and can grab aggro if tank doesn't have a big lead.
Code:
DPS14=Dichotomic Rage|80

You can also use the KA Aggro section to try to drop aggro and Heals to use your self-heal AA:
Code:
[Aggro]
AggroOn=1
Aggro1=Self Preservation|90|>
Aggro2=Silent Strikes|80|>
Aggro3=Jarring Smite|50|>
Aggro4=NULL
Aggro5=NULL
AggroSize=5

[Heals]
HealsOn=1
HealsSize=2
Heals1=Blood Sustenance|30|me
Heals2=Uncanny Resilience|50|me

On the PetTank side, can you give the pet the mage aggro weapons? Also make sure you're giving it any aggro gen buffs you can from it's master. Stuff that snares/stuns/slows/dropsAC are all big aggro. Try playing around with the pet's starting location and tanking location too. If all the mobs are coming from one side (dungeon room or wall camp) then you can position the PetTank & melee so the melee toons always have the mob's back at engage.

If you're running an Enchanter, you can also buff the zerker with a rune during downtime, to give them a boost on hp until they get gear.
Code:
Buffs15=Rune of Skrizix|class|ber

Occasionally, if your powerlevel'd melee toon just doens't have the HP, like they have 20k hp and are at a camp in EoK, I just have them sit out the fights for a few days while I camp them some Cohorts/gear.

Okay, I did all the things. It worked. I'm thinking it might have been Binding axe primarily, but in either case it's been 30 pulls now and no deaths.

Thanks a bunch guys :)

Eq no longer does this. They changed it a while back. Mobs always atttack top of their aggro list now.

So to clarify, my 105 level zerker attacking mob A, is generating more hate on mob B, when mob B is being meleed by a 110 bard, than the bard itself?

EQ hurts my brain. Something in the changes I made thanks to you guys has at least reduced the incidence of that situation a lot though.

Hmm.
  1. So you pull mobs A & B (bard pulls?)
  2. PetTank grabs mob A in camp. Party including the 105 zerker assist and attack mob A.
  3. Bard off-tanks mob B.
  4. Mob B decides to attack zerker instead of bard?
So either the zerker is firing an AE something that is picking up aggro. Or the bard is dropping aggro. Bard dropping aggro seems more likely.

I don't see any AE dmg stuff in your zerker. You have AE section turned off. Cry Carnage in your DPS is a group buff though, so that will generate a tiny bit a AE aggro when you cast it every fight. Try moving that to Buffs and remove the DPS entry.

Is the bard running KA? Does it have Fading Memories or other aggro reduction stuff in DPS/Aggro/AE? Or a mq2melee holy?

My bard has this, which would definitely drop aggro via Fading onto other party members if the bard was trying to off-tank.
Code:
[Aggro]
AggroOn=1
AggroSize=5
Aggro1=Fading Memories|80|>
Aggro2=Shield of Notes|90|>
Aggro3=Hymn of the Last Stand|95|>
Aggro4=Deftdance Discipline|99|>
Aggro5=NULL
AggroCond1=${Me.PctMana}>50
AggroCond2=TRUE
AggroCond3=TRUE
AggroCond4=TRUE
AggroCond5=FALSE

1. Yep
2. Yep. Party has 110 zerk, 110 bst + pet tank, 105 war, 105 zerk, all meleeing Mob A, and shaman healing everyone with group halcyon
3. Yep
4. Yep. It even ignores the more uber zerker and beastlord.

The bard is completely manual, no mq2melee or ka at all. The 105 zerk is using only that KA ini, and basically every pull it was grabbing agro (in GMM, where you mostly get 2 pulls).
With the mods you suggested, it is happening less. i'd say about 80% less occurrence now.

Bard offtanking using shield and wurmslayer tho. All defensive aa's done, but not very good augs I think, so much safer with that combo.

This is why EQ confuses me. The zerker doesn't even LOOK at mob B, and from what I can see does nothing to agro it. So either mob B looks at zerker and thinks "easy target", and doesn't notice the halfelf smashing it in the face with a whopping great sword, or mob A is somehow telling mob B that zerker is attacking it and is "easy target, ignore the half elf smashing you in the face".

Not sure then. There used to be some EQ mob logic that the mob might swap to a low health % target if nearby. Maybe the 105 zerk was eating a riposte, then Mob A & B would swap to the low health opportunity target.

Eq no longer does this. They changed it a while back. Mobs always atttack top of their aggro list now.
I had no idea, some of the rooted mobs still looked like they would attack the closest to it while i was leveling my last group up
