Question - 104 (soon 105) Monk LOW dps, need some help with files

Hey All -

Been having some trouble trying to figure out how exactly to get all my monk's offensive (especially low cd) abilities to fire. Some I have in .ini and some I used from the forums as holy's.. still new to the holy/downshift system and not too comfortable with it yet. Anyways, take a look at this and lemme know if you can help me figure out how to improve my DPS.. I have a bard in group to help with DPS and monk is set up as puller and uses PullerTank, then tank merc comes in to help. Dps is very very low in GParser. Combines about 100 fights and was at 7k DPS.

I would take them out of your Kiss ini file and use downshit/holyshit for everything. Doing that will give you better control of when to use each thing. I've played a ranger since 2000 and never a monk, so I cannot be perfect help, but here's the thought process you'll want with a holyshit to use your ability. I'm just going to call Abilities "Ability" and buffs from those abilities "B_Ability" to keep things simple. Keep in mind Holyshit only fires when your attack is on, so having a check for combat in one of those isn't completely necessary unless you want the ability to also fire when you're at range--then you should put it in a Downshit with a check on the CombatState.

That would cast your AA for Ability 1 if the buff from that ability stacks with what you already have, and if you don't already have the buff from Ability2 or Ability3 already on you. Now if you think "I like that, but if it's a named I want to blow everything" you can add a quick check for that like this:

In this case it would make sure the first two conditions are true AND one of the conditions from the right side. The two separate conditions on the right side can be broken into:
${Target.Named}
Then
(!${Me.Buff[B_Ability2].ID} && !${Me.Buff[B_Ability3].ID})

The added parenthesis are important because they keep the order of operations from having a hiccup.
 
did you try it with a new kiss ini for your character? so it actually allows the holyshits to take full control over it instead of kiss and holyshits fighting between the 2? my monk averages 15-20k on normal and bursts up to 35 ish on named with his stuff.. but thats with a fresh character .ini and turning on the holyshits

I took this from the KissAssist page:
Requires plugins* MQ2Cast, MQ2Exchange, MQ2Melee, MQ2MoveUtils, Mq2Rez, & MQ2Twist (Bards) , Extended Target Window and ninjadvloot.inc file.
* All plugins and files are included in the official RedGuides MQ2 Compile.

According to that I believe they do not fight because KissAssist actually calls MQ2Melee which is what keeps your Downshit/Holyshits active.

Gotcha. You should make sure there's a check for the ability being ready and stackable before you use it with a holyshit because if you don't you'll end up spamming an ability that isn't up. You'll see it a lot with clickies like ACoF which gives an overhaste that doesn't stack with most slows. If you have the proper checks then holyshit will never see an ability that has already been used by Kiss as one that should be used.
 
I hit my /melee in game and noticed now all my holyshits show up.. 0-15 or w/e .. so i did holyshit(whatever#)=1 to turn them on. Haven't really seen much of an increase.. sometimes i see upwards of like 9-15k, but still most the time he is around 5-7k :( ... i'm kinda confused at how the numbers that represent spells/tomes to be used are ordered in the holyshits and maybe i have them wrong? Also i was getting a TON (not enough emphasis) of knockback and had to turn off dragonpunch/talonstrike and basically anything besides flying kick.. I think the dragonpunch was doing all the knock back, but wasn't sure. I was hoping someone with good amount of experience here could kinda hold my hand like a mentally ill child here and help me fine tune this.

What do you mean here? If you mean to simply just change something in .ini and save it, thus creating a "new" ini, then yes, I do that whenever i need to update a parameter.

Also, is there an in depth guide to holyshit/downflags here on site? I have been trying to find one. Maybe reading something like that could help me understand it better.

Another update.. My other reasoning for turning off almost eveyrthing except Flying Kick in /melee was because I wanted to do the flying kick damage, but wasn't sure if having other things on like roundkick/tigerclaw/eyegouge, etc would interfere with that. Can anyone elaborate?

Sorry for so many questions/updates.. I recently tried just typing in /Alt Act 43974 (torrent of fists ability) to try and see if i could manually use disc and it said "You do not have that ability." Well... I am staring right at it, so I know I have it. This might be the issues of why my discs aren't firing? Dunno.. any ideas?
 
In the kissassist ini file (NOT the mq2melee ini file) remove everything from the dps and burn sections and use the data from the other thread to set up your melee ini. As regards round kicks, etc, yes they will interfere with flying kick as they are on the same timer. I didn't turn off flying kick however. I'm on a progression server and needed to alter things quite a bit to have it work with an 85 in the SoD Era. But I'm hitting 8k with group gear from SoD without a problem and you are 20 levels over me, presumably with much better gear, skills, etc. So should be able to get more than that with his set up. The only down side is being able to have a "burn" button. Kissassist burn section would allow that but loses the benefits of all his stacking of abilities for best burst. I'm looking into creating a variable with its own event the I can include in the holyshits be able to toggle when to burn and therefore time with quicktimes, etc.
