Hey guys, I've been thinking about making a group that is specifically designed to take down 32k hps raid targets. My thinking is if I can get a core group to take down 32k hps raid targets, I can easily add a dps group for harder targets(velious and beyond).

So, what 6 classes would be ideal? The 3 most important would be bard, cleric, warrior in my opinion. so what is needed to support them?

Choice 1: Max resists and heals with 2x bard and 2x cleric, but minimal dps with only 1 wizard. This probably the safest group choice to kill the target, but lacks a lot of other things
Bard
Cleric
Warrior
Bard
Cleric
Wizard

Choice 2: Most well rounded group. Backup heals and resists from Druid. Expert pulls from monk. Extra support from enc(debuffs, charm, mez etc). More dps than group 1 but do I have enough tanking/healing power?
Bard
Cleric
Warrior
Enchanter
Druid
Monk

Choice 3: Max DPS, minimum support(low resists). Basically surround my core(imo core = brd, clr, war) with the most dps possible. I could swap a monk for a magi to help with pulling.
Bard
Cleric
Warrior
Magi
Magi
Wizard

As goofy as it seems I think I would pick Choice 1. Choice 1 would definitely require a second dps group for velious, but might be able to have enough dps to take down a 32k hps.

So what does everyone else think? The problem seems to be finding the balance between support and dps. There is always personal preference in doing things(which is why I have a porter in every group but that is not technically needed).

But the main questions being -
How much resists is needed?
How much healing/tanking power? (could a hybrid tank, what combination of priests classes)

I would go with choice 2. Pets are gimped against raid mobs due to the buff. And I believe the buff really increased their hps. 2 bards is definitely worthless though.

Yup, Group 2 looks good, Monk or Rogue is fine. Otherwise pretty solid setup. Keep in mind tho pet damage isnt gimped bad until there are "X" number of pets beating on a target with the MotM buff. I'm not sure how many pets are considered too many and the buff wreaks havok.

I have 1 pet class in every group and 2 in a couple but aren't all mages. Necro's to me are more worthwhile than a mage due to the mana pumping spells. I am really hoping to get the old macro I have working to auto pump the clerics.

yea choice 2 does look good, it has a little bit of everything. i could even use the bard, druid, monk to power level my second group of toons(if i really want to commit to it)

and with that MotM buff on raid targets, rogues and wizards seem much better. ive never played a necro but i can see how useful the twitches can be. i would also want just 1 mage for coth

so my second group to pair with choice 2 would be: cleric, mage, necro, wiz, rog, rog. this second group would def be needed for velious and should do a good job boosting dps

Yes, My Group 3 is very similar to that I originally had a sham handling the patching heals in that group but ended up dumping a dps for a 3rd cleric for dat ch chain.

What about this for my group 1?

Bard, cleric, cleric, warrior, magi, wiz?

Lacking support but there should be enough heals and DPS. It might be worth it to add an ench as a 7th just to solidy the group with grm, c2

Here's a raid group that's going to give you extreme versatility:

WAR - Obviously tank prime
BST - DPS, Split/possible bac up tank, Buffer(two stacking HPS buffs, haste, mana/hps regen), Debuffer(slower, resist debuffer)
BRD - puller, DPS, regen songs, debuff songs
CLR - Primary healer, Buffer(hps, spell haste)
WIZ - pure DPS factor, nothing more needs said!
DRD - DPS, Damage Shield, Debuffer, Back/Patch Healer

This combination will give you essentially full raid type buffs (although slightly lower than full raid buffs).

Everyone can have symbol, ward, skin, SV and focus HPS and armor buffs.
Bard song and BST crack gives you Clarity level's of mana regen.
Haste available to all melee's as needed.
Snare/Roots as needed.
Back up heals for the non-WAR's when aoe or other damage due to DRUID.

This is essentially my personal go to since days of Luclin. Just saying. :)

Most raids that can be 1 grouped I find brute force works best, I always do War,Cleric,Bard,Wiz,Wiz,Beast or War,Cle,Bard,Wiz,Wiz,Wiz and stuff just melts....

Below is my grp make up and it does pretty well

60-War
60-cleric
60-shman
60-bard
60-Rogue
60- Monk

Yeah I like this. Caster DPS actually seems very unreliable on TLP raid targets because of the buff daybreak gave the raid targets. Melee DPS seem simpler and more effective right now especially when boxing the whole raid
