Hey guys, I've been thinking about making a group that is specifically designed to take down 32k hps raid targets. My thinking is if I can get a core group to take down 32k hps raid targets, I can easily add a dps group for harder targets(velious and beyond).
So, what 6 classes would be ideal? The 3 most important would be bard, cleric, warrior in my opinion. so what is needed to support them?
Choice 1: Max resists and heals with 2x bard and 2x cleric, but minimal dps with only 1 wizard. This probably the safest group choice to kill the target, but lacks a lot of other things
Bard
Cleric
Warrior
Bard
Cleric
Wizard
Choice 2: Most well rounded group. Backup heals and resists from Druid. Expert pulls from monk. Extra support from enc(debuffs, charm, mez etc). More dps than group 1 but do I have enough tanking/healing power?
Bard
Cleric
Warrior
Enchanter
Druid
Monk
Choice 3: Max DPS, minimum support(low resists). Basically surround my core(imo core = brd, clr, war) with the most dps possible. I could swap a monk for a magi to help with pulling.
Bard
Cleric
Warrior
Magi
Magi
Wizard
As goofy as it seems I think I would pick Choice 1. Choice 1 would definitely require a second dps group for velious, but might be able to have enough dps to take down a 32k hps.
So what does everyone else think? The problem seems to be finding the balance between support and dps. There is always personal preference in doing things(which is why I have a porter in every group but that is not technically needed).
But the main questions being -
How much resists is needed?
How much healing/tanking power? (could a hybrid tank, what combination of priests classes)
DISCUSS!
