Overview:
Catalog quests are quests where you find creatures in a particular zone and “record” them. These quests are fairly easy, assuming you are the right level for the zone, and generally give 2 - 10% adventure XP as well as AA XP for when your past level 20. The reward for these quests are not great, you get a badge and book for your inn room, but if you are into that kind of stuff like I am, it makes for a quick book collection.
Starters:
There are basically two ways to get a catalog quest, but both ways require some coin. In the lower tier zones, such as Antonia & Thundering Steppes, you must find a distressed merchant. Once you find one, (they are non attackable), they ask you for assistance. Basically you kill everything around them, then you are able to purchase the book from them. However, in zones like Bonemire and Barren Sky, you can just buy them off any merchant.
Cool Stuff:
- No turn ins: basically once you finish the quest, you get the XP and the reward.
- Ogaming Helps: all the catalog quests are shown in detail, including the locs of the mobs.
- Nerfed: before, you had to be up the mobs butt to catalog it, now all you need is a target, you can be really far away.
