• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

MAUI (MuleAssist UI) 03/26/2024

- fix error when right clicking a button with an item name assigned.
- Fix script error when building AA menu for certain classes (damn bards)
- Organize AA and discs in right click menu
- Fix building of AA list to not skip over some entries
- Fix file dialog to list all INI files in config folder
- Add file selection dialog for choosing INI files
- Caching for TLO lookups to improve performance
- Add a red theme option. It doesn't persist the setting, just for fun. The default color is still blue.
- Fix up some stuff being marked as red/missing

Use the new "Choose..." button to select an INI file to load, or continue to just type in a filename directly.

And also allow MAUI to be started with /lua run maui
- Add Rogue to list of sections to display tabs for
- Check INI file exists when clicking reload
- Display error if trying to load INI file that does not exist
  • Add memorize spell button to right click menu on abilities. The spell will memorize into the first available slot, if there is one. I've only tested this with 13 spell gems. If you don't have 13 spell gems and it breaks, let me know.
  • Fix BegOn and PullArcWidth.
  • Add hunter to preconfigured start commands.
- Add dropdown menu of common macro start commands. After selecting one, it is still possible to go and customize it further as well.
- Display macro status and role, and update start/end/pause buttons according to status. The status is hardcoded to check muleassist.mac. If you rename your macro to something else for your own personal edits or anything like that, you will need to update the value in start.lua.

- Adds a downgrade option for spells. If the INI includes a spell that you don't have, the downgrade button will look for the next best matching spell that you do have.
- While testing the downgrade, I noticed there are probably more cases where the upgrade/downgrade does not pick the right spell than there are that do. YMMV.
- Spell dropdown lists will now update when memorizing new spells.
- Added /maui stop command in addition to the previously added show and hide commands.

- For the brave, there is a half baked KA support squirreled away if you edit ma/globals.lua and set local schemas = {'ma', 'ka',}, because reasons.
- Adds new /maui command:
- Display command usage: /maui
- Show the window: /maui show
- Hide the window: /maui hide
- Will now persist the INI file name

Despite me calling this 0.7.4, this technically includes 2 breaking changes, semantic versioning be damned:
- Pressing the X button on the window will no longer end the script. So, bring it back with /maui show, instead of /lua run ma/start
- Once MAUI has saved the INI file name in use, it won't try to determine a new level based file name anymore. I'm not sold on how the experience will be for people who are leveling and using level specific INIs. Feedback is welcome.
