v1.39 — Choose your frog
CroakWatch gets a face — actually, seven of them.
If you liked the old look, it's still there: Options > Theme > Classic.
- NEW: Themes — pick your look in Options > Theme, applies instantly: Green Frog (the new default — painted swamp header, mossy colors), RedFrog (charcoal-wine and ember), Blue Frog (deep water and ice), the original purple/gold Classic, plus three Classic color variants without the artwork. Your choice is remembered per server.
- Painted header — frog mascot and CROAKWATCH artwork across the top, with the window controls neatly overlaid. And yes: click the frog to minimize.
- The sentinel — the empty camp-details panel now shows a brooding frog statue scene instead of blank space (each theme has its own).
- Small touches everywhere: frog badge on the minimized icon, skull and frog glyphs on the Recent Croaks / Croak Stats headers.
- Meaning never changes with the look: green UP, yellow outsiders, teal hints stay the same colors in every theme.
- The install now includes an
assets/imagesfolder — RedFetch and normal zip extracts handle it automatically.
v1.27 — Trade camp intel with your server
CroakWatch camps can now be shared. Your knowledge, your friends' knowledge — one file, one click.
Tip for veterans: export after a good camping stretch — your locs and learned timers are exactly what a newcomer to your server needs.
- NEW: Export — one button (Options > Sharing, or
/croakwatch export) writes a share file of everything your CroakWatch has learned on this server: the named, their spawn spots, placeholder lists, and learned respawn times, organized by zone. Nothing personal goes in it — no kill counts, no loot history, no notes, not even your character name. Post it on the forums or Discord for others on your server.- NEW: Import — got a share file from a server veteran? Drop it in your
Config/croakwatchfolder and CroakWatch offers its named in the same checklist picker as the catalog: pick what you camp, import, done. Spawn spots and placeholder lists come along; respawn times arrive as starting hints that your own kills refine.- Safety built in: files from other servers are ignored automatically, share files can't touch named you already track, and imported files are loaded in a locked-down sandbox.
- Your own exports don't clutter your picker — a share file only appears when it actually offers something you don't have.
- Under the hood: internal restructuring so the growing feature set stays within Lua's limits.
v1.23 — Named catalog for EMU + smarter zone books
Installs as usual — the zip now contains two files (init.lua + catalog.lua); RedFetch and manual extracts both just work.
- NEW: Named Catalog (EMU players, this one's for you) — servers without the achievement system no longer start empty. In zones the catalog knows, a Catalog button appears in Camps: pick the named you camp from a checklist and import them in one click. First zone shipped: Old Sebilis, with more zones coming in future updates — the button reappears automatically when your zone's list grows.
- Imports are safe by design: named you already track are never touched, and an imported respawn time is just a starting hint — your own kills replace it automatically.
- The button only shows where it's actually useful: zones with an achievement (Live) never see it.
- Event zones get their own book — Hardcore Heritage revamps share names with classic mobs but are totally different fights. CroakWatch now keeps HH data separate (look for the [HH] tag by the zone name), so event-season timers never corrupt your classic-zone data — and your HH book reopens intact next season.
- NEW:
/croakwatch resetzone— wipe the current zone's tracked data and start fresh (asks you to confirm, and refills from the achievement where one exists). Great for post-event cleanup.- NEW: Help tab — every slash command listed with what it does, plus tips.
- Camp Watch: new Options toggle to keep "entered the zone" lines out of your console (the feed still catches everything).
v1.15 — Second-toon protection (Monitor Mode) + attribution donut
Run CroakWatch on more than one character? This one's for you.
Note: the protection only works between up-to-date copies — make sure every character runs v1.15.
- NEW: Monitor Mode — if you start CroakWatch on a second character on the same server, it now detects your first one automatically and switches itself to a protective watch-only mode: all alerts, timers, and sounds work, but it won't touch your saved data. No more instances overwriting each other's kills and notes. You'll see a teal [MONITOR] tag so you always know which is which.
- Characters on different servers (or different computers) are unaffected — each runs at full power with its own save.
- When your main instance closes, monitor characters warn you that kills are no longer being recorded.
- New
/croakwatch statuscommand tells you at a glance what role an instance is running.- NEW: kill donut — the Stats tab's This Session section now shows a mini pie of who's landing your kills (you / pets / group / outsiders), matching the ledger colors.
- Stats layout polish: the session loot summary no longer cuts off the tribute value, and the two session ledgers line up properly.
CroakWatch v1.08 - who really got the kill?
- Kill credit now goes to the right hunter. CroakWatch reads the kill messages and knows whether you, a group member, a merc, or one of your pets landed the blow - all of it counts as yours. Pets are recognized even under their random names (Zeneker, Gobaner...).
- Outsider alert. If someone outside your group kills a named you're tracking, the timer still restarts (the respawn clock started either way) - but it's not counted as your kill, and the kill shows in yellow so you can't miss it.
- Recent Croaks is now a color-coded ledger - teal for pet kills, green for group/mercs, yellow for outsiders - and it survives restarts (keeps the last 24 hours). Go AFK overnight, wake up, and see at a glance if anyone was working your camps.
- The Stats tab got a full redesign: collapsible sections, a one-line zone summary, session kill + loot ledgers side by side with an "Outsiders only" audit filter, a two-column all-time record, and a leaderboard with kill bars.
- Hover anything to learn it. Every new stat, color, and term explains itself in a tooltip - CroakWatch teaches you as you use it.
- Accuracy fixes: a long-standing silent double-count on manually-added mobs is gone, and group-member kills that some servers never reported now register properly.
CroakWatch v1.01 - install fix
- Fixed: "script won't load" after downloading v1.00. The zip's contents were loose instead of inside a
croakwatchfolder, so manual installs didn't land where the loader looks. The zip now extracts to a propercroakwatch/folder - drop it in yourluafolder and go.- If v1.00 wouldn't load for you: delete the loose
init.luaandassetsfrom yourluafolder, grab v1.01, extract, done.- The zip is also leaner - just the script and its sound files, nothing else.
- No gameplay changes.
CroakWatch v1.00 - the America 250 Release!
Two hundred fifty years of independence - and now your camps are free too. CroakWatch hits 1.00!
Happy 250th, and happy hunting!
- Group item counts - every watched item shows
grp 4/6: how many of your group already have it. Hover for the who's-who (counts their banks too). Know the moment everyone's got their drop - declare independence from that camp and move on!- Item cards everywhere - hover any item name (watch list, drops, a named's loot) for its icon and full EQ-style stats: container slots, weight/value/tribute, classes, resists, effects. Ctrl+Right-Click opens the real in-game item window.
- Loot Watch upgrades - partial names now match no matter the capitalization ("glowing seb" works!), sort by name or count, see your inventory/bank counts per item, and hover the box with an item on your cursor to add it instantly.
- Coin tracking - plat looted from corpses and group splits, this session and all-time (Stats tab).
- Loot worth tracking - the total vendor value and tribute value of everything you loot. Watch your fortune grow, patriot.
- Fixes - notes no longer type in ALL CAPS, and group counts no longer get stuck on "no data."
CroakWatch v0.86 - a whole new interface + smarter tracking
- Completely redesigned window - your camp list on the left, and a detail panel on the right showing everything about the selected named at once: timer bar, notes, spawn spots, settings, and its loot. No more digging through popups.
- New per-named Notes - jot camp intel right on the mob ("PH is the gnoll by the tree"); saves automatically.
- Get there faster - click a named's name to target it, and Nav buttons path you to the mob if it's up, or to its spawn spot if it's not.
- Loot tab is now a hub - your watch list (sortable, with inventory/bank counts per item), a live feed of recent drops, and your all-time top drops.
- Stats tab is now a dashboard - zone overview (what's up, what's due soon), all-time totals, and a most-killed leaderboard.
- Recent kills + stats panels at the bottom of the main view; the Timers tab folded into a simple Due/Name sort.
- Smarter kill counting - kills only count when you're actually there, so despawns and other players' kills no longer pollute your numbers or timers.
- Roamer support - flag wandering named so they don't collect junk spawn-spot data.
CroakWatch v0.61 - new tabbed interface + big timer accuracy fixes
- New tabbed layout - Camps, Timers, Loot, Stats, and Options are now their own tabs with icons, so the window's far less cramped.
- New Timers tab - a quick "who pops soon" board: every camp you're tracking, sorted by which is due next, shown as countdown bars at a glance.
- Tidier window - its own minimize/close buttons, a fixed width, drags cleanly (and can dock into other windows).
- Zone Watch upgrade - click the "in zone" player count to open a pinned list you can scroll and sort by name or level (handy in packed zones like PoK).
- Sound toggles moved into their own Options tab.
- Fixed: timers freezing in busy camps - in crowded rooms kills weren't always detected, so countdowns could stick. They now track reliably.
- Fixed: respawn times reading way too short - the timer now learns the named's real respawn instead of the faster placeholder cycle. (Old inaccurate timing data is cleared once on update so it relearns clean - your kill counts, placeholders, and loot are kept.)
CroakWatch v0.45 - Quick Reply
Answer without alt-tabbing away from the fight. When a tell or OOC shows up in your Camp Watch feed, hit reply and pick a canned message - it sends back in kind: a tell replies privately to the sender, an OOC posts publicly (handy for showing you're a live player at a contested camp).
- Your own presets - add, edit, and remove canned replies in the new Quick Replies panel (a few are included to start).
- You're always in control - nothing sends on its own; you click the reply you want, every time.
