You've discovered RedGuides, an EverQuest multi-boxing and scripting community 🧙♀️⚙️. We want you to play several EQ characters at once, come join us and say hello! 👋
A TLP without truebox has thawed (Very Vanilla ready)
There's also OTHER things to do on live. On this absurdity there is NOTHING else to do. The grind is all that is until several expansions in. Nothing new? Sure, bad design for a new server that they want to hold interest? Absolutely.
Even on TLP they unlock expansions relatively quickly so you...
looks like they're maxing out their characters in 1 week, which pretty much means there isn't enough content to keep anyone busy staying subbed either. EQ classic has lots of mid-tier named and such to tackle, but if you're hitting max in under a week then all of the content is useless as you...
oh man. Went to solusek solo as a bard way back when. Would keep 2-3 mezzed, run regen songs in btween to heal up then start whacking things again. Was a PITA to do, but it was truly fun. I didn't have to necessarily be more powerful than the mobs I was fighting, just use my tools effectively...
don't really need the res stick, unless maybe on a TLP maybe. Pally AA res works fast enough for combat res duty. Of course, I can't be bothered to do the work to get the res sticks so I dunno if there's a good reason to get it for a pally on live these days
Honestly, been playing less and less each expansion for at least a decade now in any case. This might just be the push out the door for me. I don't even feel anything about it, which is a clear indicator of how lackluster the game has become over all. I do it mostly out of habit these days...
I've been an advocate since 1999 that EQ needed true multi-classing...I just doubt they can pull it off in a manner that actually works. I also would get bored super fast with only classic available while using an OP single character. Be just like what we have now with tank mercs pre-75. Yes...
Could just add a paladin to cover for the sham until the sham gets to the levels where it's the star. I use one in my group as a healer even at max level and I prefer it to more dps/utility/whatever and am running war/bst/bard/mage/dru/paladin. I've never found that my DPS was lacking enough...
This might depend on how you're configured, and I am by no means a RGmerc expert, but for most things on here you can do this by having your toon marked assist target itself.
There is 1 level of grey that will give experience, but I think it's a rounding error in the game so it is like every other level or something. Forget how it worked, been years since I found it. Best to just assume grey to anyone in group is 0 XP for everyone rather than trying to finesse it.
As alluded to, though not explicitly stated above, the game is pretty much completely trivialized as far as the CC aspect and has been for over a decade at this point. You don't even need it these days.
There are a lot of people that also say you NEED full augs/gear/etc as a tank. I've found...
if you're pulling blue to a level 36, to a party containing level 40's, those mobs are light blue or green to them. This lowers their experience based on their own level vs. the mob's level, by quite a bit. I'm betting this is what you're seeing based on you pulling with a lower level pally...
I was using war with pally/dru to handle healing, works great. Not like you actually need the extra DPS, unless you have a sadistic need to completely trivialize an already trivialized game.
I've noticed in various places that the people that complain the most about the game being too...
