Has anyone noticed MQ having very high CPU usage since the May 26th Patch?
Even a freshly downloaded base version from the MQ Github I'm noticing very high CPU usage. EQ isn't even open.
Tested on two different systems, One Intel and one AMD based (not like it should matter) same issue...
I suppose. I'm just super old school. Plus, I have no problem with the 11 or 12gigs per install, I only box a few chars lol. If I had full raid army, would be a different story!
You would need a backup. I use separate EQ installs for each character, so I end up just updating one, seeing what file(s) were changed, and use another install folder to copy the older files back over.
In case anyone was wondering, the 3 files which were patched (that you would have to revert). Just reverting eqgame.exe will not work.

If you don’t mind me asking, what basic hardware configuration are you running in which you’re NOT crashing with?
How many CPU Cores/threads, video card make/model.
I notice this crash happens on my desktops, but not my laptop. Desktops both have over 16 threads. Crash happens on both Intel...
If I were to think of the most common occurrence, I would say NoS zones. Specifically, Shar Vahl Divided would be notorious for happening at least 50% of the time. Not sure if zoning in from Guild Hall has anything to do with it then pulling up map right away, but that's my chain of events...
I've been having GetSpawnType crashes for around a year. I've also not seen any garbled text (but I do filter ground spawns out, not sure if the bad spawn types or garbled text are related to ground spawn).
