out of curiosity, have you tried to re download the UI file with a fresh copy? this happened to me once and worked after i replaced the UI file.

I started on Vallon Zek, race based teams but still ended up good vs evil. Really changes your game play when you can aoe your group mates to death.

I would suggest using pullertank mode on your bard. Merc MA's are always a little odd and later on when you mez things mercs will not break mez. Keep the merc on aggressive so he still taunts and on your bard use /mac kissassist pullertank. Hope that works for you.
