Question - Which plugin should i get first?

Hi all,

just a quick question. If funds are very limited in what order would you go about acquiring the CWTN plug-ins?

My current team is SK, ENC, CLR, MAG, MAG, BST.

My initial gut reaction would say cleric to have the best possible healing algorithm, but I might be wrong.

Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

You are on the right track. 2 support classes automated (Heals, CC) means you can focus elsewhere. I know Cleric is amazing. Solo heals everything in my group, and was curing as well in Shei which is a double cure. Had no issues. I hear Enchanter is even better for locking down adds and DPS. Once my toons get to 120 (30% left in 119) and about another 2-3k in AA, I will probably swap the Enchanter in and give it a whirl.

OK. I think I am done investing for quite a while. Just picked up MQ2Cleric, so my core has been established. Namely, my SK, Enc, and Clr are now in the capable hands of Chats and Sic - no pressure there boys. :p

OK. I think I lied when I said I was done investing. Some people collect cars; some people collect antiques; I think I am starting to collect NFT’s in the form of CWTN plug-ins.

Right now, I am thinking Mage vs Beastie. My current main team has 2 mages so I would be getting a 2 for 1. That is a big plus. I throw this out to the beast lord fans. Convince me why I should go MQ2Bst. Considering i have 2 mages in my group, you are starting the discussion 1 point in the hole.

Right now KA is automating the mages and beastie. Any and all serious comments are more than welcome. Thanks.

I run 4 mages, 3 bst.. i went with mq2bst first because there are *good enough* mage KAs the 2 for one is pretty handy though.

Durango, fair enough, but what about MQ2Bst made you say, “wow. Yes, I need MQ2Bst first and I can wait on MQ2Mag.”

Was it a better improvement in dps/aDPS? Was it better buffing?

I am trying to be more quantitative with my decision making process as opposed to qualitative., if that is even possible when it comes to EQ character classes. I appreciate the feedback. Keep those cards and letters coming.

Could have been availability. Bst came out almost a year before Mage.
It could be they already had the bst, it could be that bst was not performing to their liking with KA and mage was as they said "good enough". Could be bst were better geared than mages.

It would also be worth checking out the reviews for the two, perhaps one may shed light on why you'd want one over the other.

If I were choosing I'd personally do mage simply based on it being a 2 for 1 as you put it. Mostly related to movement/getting around for me. I'm relatively simple like that though. If your plan is to get both, it's really on a short term question, and might not be worth beating yourself up trying to sort out which to get first. If you plan is one or the other then the question makes more sense and you'd certainly want to consider the pros/cons of each class. Perhaps even hop on test and check them out there since the plugins are free and included with VV for test.

No worries. I went with my first instinct. I am the proud new owner of MQ2Mage. The funny thing it just crashed a few minutes ago on first load with one of the mages. I think the crash was caused by my trying to adjust the UI at the same time. When I say adjust I mean load a layout from another toon.

Best guess is this was you, and it looks like an issue with reloading (or loading) a UI.

So as in initial post.. mq2mage is a fine tool, but several tools have good enough mage.. bst to be full use, need coding (in the MQ area).. both are fine tools, and with a double mage, great value... i was just pointing out, hey i need help with a mage .ini, get 7 people to help.. i need help with a bst .ini.. well.. damn =-( you wont be sad with the mage, ive used it to great effect in groups dps and raids

Durango, sorry if I came across the wrong way. I guess a few reasons I went with MQ2Mage right now is the fact I am running two mages and the pet taunt toggle. When I watched Sic's vids for Mage and Beastie and heard about the "emergency" pet taunt while the cleric does an Oh Shit AA Rez, I said to myself that by going with Mage that feature would kick in twice whereas with MQ2Bst it would kick in once.

Hopefully I won't experience that feature but I felt it was a nice potential insurance policy.

I'll make it simple I've bought them all every year and have no complaints. It's just easy out of the box so back to Eq without the stress of did I update for that new spell or disc regardless of the class.

Look at the bright side! There is an end in sight. Only MQ2War, MQ2Berserker, MQ2Rogue, MQ2Monk, MQ2Shaman. Oh look! That is a full group right there! Minus a bard.

Just an FYI - I bought the plugins before I even made the classes, but all of mine are up there at 120 and close to max AA, with only 3 stuck at 115 and max AA at 115. Slowly working them up.
