Question - Where to afk?

Anyone care to let me know where some good spots are for afk leveling my 72 Chanter and 71 Wizard? Right now they both have silver accounts, so not great mercs. One has a healer, the other a tank. I'd like to know the zone and the spot or mobs you recommend.

I was thinking sunderock or steppes. The Hole would be good, but I always see other people there doing the same thing so that may not work.

At that level I parked mine on Monkey island in The Burried Sea. Left em there for days. No one bothered me. Mobs don't hit too hard and seldom get more than one plus the loot is quite good.
I can make a map of the sweet spot if you want.

A map would be fabulous!

Go Tox -> Barren Coast -> The Buried Sea. Take the boat in Barren Coast that arrives at the dock on the far south end of the zone from the zone in.
Ride the boat all the way around The Buried Sea until you get to Monkey Island. Jump off about where the light blue star/cross is at. This is a safe area without mobs and perfect for staging.
Go north east over the hill to the #1 red star, perfect place to afk for days. #2 is not bad either when you get tired of #1.

WARNING! Stay away from the sirens.. they will try to pull you in with their beauty and sweet voices. Don't do it! Remember O'brother where art thou!!
A little humor but seriously. They will kick your axe as most of them run around with reflect so you won't land a single spell on them and they will charm your tank, your pets or even YOU.
They are located on the island in the north west corner. The one that has "Stonejay" for a label on it.

Zone map to show how to get to the island. The red line that goes around the zone is the boat path you will be taking. Don't forget to jump off when you get to Monkey Island.. the boat does not stop there.

Anyone have a place to afk at 50 ? I keep having issues afking more then 30 minutes at this level for some reason.

OK, how do you get to the islands? Do I just need to buy all the tickets? When I tried, each boat just took me back to Barren Coast. :-)

Tickets? I never bought any tickets. Just wait for the boat and hop on.
You will zone into The Buried Sea.. watch your map for the timing of when to jump off.
You will be returned to Barren Coast if you don't jump off.
The boat stops at some of the islands but not at Monkey Island. You have to watch for it and jump off.

I wrote a brief guide that may help. Check it out -> HERE

Ya tried blackfeather roost, and the chance of catching one of those "injured" mountain snakes is just way too high. They hit way to hard, its almost a joke calling the damn things injured!

I think I did bloodfields at 50. I went into one of the rooms with the dragorns. You may need CC depending on how many you can handle. If not bloodfields, Plane of Disease is good.

Thanks fur the help Wolf! I'm actually on the island that looks like a bear paw just to the West of Monkey Island. The ones on Monkey were light blue to me at 70. The Bear island is all DB with a few LB in there. The island to the North of Monkey appears to have lots of yellows and a few reds. I haven't tried it yet since my toons are FTP and mostly naked still. :-)

Also I realized that I had to get off the boat using lev and just trek across the water to the islands. I thought the boat would dock, but apparently each boat is different. The boats I tried all just stopped at the main island, then zoned back.

Anyway, great AA XP here and my noob crew is happily afking and handling 4 at a time. :-)

Doesn't anyone like The Forgotten Halls? I ride that gravy train till the low 70's.

I went out to the bloodfields, and I'm trying to camp one of the halls with the dragorn rooms attached. I generated a mesh, but my puller isn't pathing very well through the area. The respawn rates per room don't seem to be high enough to just sit in a corner and pull from the room, not sure if you ran into that issue eqgeek ?

im looking got a place to set up AFK i have a 93 SK and a 100 mage or ranger/ and on 3rd account a 83 cleric im wanting to afk level

T3 HOT would be your best bet. al'kabor or miragul
or even fear and morell are good empty zones

I usually let one wander off and it pulls the rest of the rooms. Otherwise, just pulling the two rooms across from each other keeps my dudes pretty busy. But they aren't geared and need to med... Maybe that's making it slower?

Oh, also I set up in the back of one of the rooms on the ledge just across from the door. Then my puller goes out the doorway looking for mobs in the room across the hall.

good spot i have found inside the gyrospires no one usually travels there. Also, a plus side there is lots of $$$ to be made.

Bit of a necro but figured I'd post here instead of a new thread. I have a group I'm looking to AFK level 85-90ish-SK,Necro,Bard,Druid,Shaman with a J5 cleric. What are some good places to do so? Tried The Dream but los and giant clumps prevent it being too good a place right now. Are the gyrospires still decent?

I have a group of 6 that i am testing and tweaking just inside the entrance of house of thule, I normally just go to one side of the other being careful to watch for other players while i make adjustments to my bots. That zone seems like a good one a little further in but im not pushing forward until i can get most of my setup done, and i still can figure out how to make the auto follow and stop again for dungeon crawling.

Gyrospire will be awful XP. Tried that. It was around 5% xp over night. Try one of the HoT zones like EB and see if you can handle it. Use the bard to mezz adds and you should do well.

Yea, tank merc. I'm more worried about plat than I am xp honestly lol.

Platinum in Katta is good. Some sort of idols drop there (yellow and orange ones) cant remember their names, but they are worth about the same as diamonds.

All the HoT zones drop gems like crazy. I think my 85 heroic was up to 150kpp after a week in MC. Not sure if it can be solo'd though. Try the less popular places like Library or EB and see how you do there.

EB will be too hard to AFK I think =(

Both cash and exp are awesome there though =)

Wonder if he could do the basement in HoT? Probably gonna need to box something with more DPS I'd guess. I didn't think the xp in Katta was good for the 85 Heroic team I had. Hard to know where to go at that level solo.

Katta sux for a complete team I agree, then it would be more efficient to visit a HoT zone.

If you are AFKing with a 85 shammy and tank merc you need to play it safe though imo, you would die too much in HoT zones.

not only hotzones sucking but if you are looking for plat cant go wrong with light blue mobs like loping plains, hills of shade fort mech back in the top corners that drop down , places where no one will typically go to bug you or they have to go way out of there way to bug you if it sucks to get to it usually means a great spot and if its a set and forget team who cares if it takes 2 days to emass tons of full bags as long as it is steady.(and they are big bags) :)

I suggest splitpaw/infected paw, there is a area with a bunch of pathers down by the bottom and they drop some nice gems too....
