Don't mean to pester, and I appreciate all that you guys do, (I've tipped brainiac and dannuic for their great work), but is there an ETA for a test server patch? Just wondering if it will be available this weekend. Thank you.

There's never an "ETA" really. It is back as soon as it is.

Here's a snippet about patch days.

What to expect on patch days?
When eq patches MQ has to be rebuilt. (you also have to patch EQ --- this way you avoid "Version Mismatch" issues)

once mq is built RG can build - we now have an automated system that rebuilds RG as soon as it is updated - which means our previous method of "let's give it a quick test" is no longer there, and sometimes there ends up being another smaller patch later to correct if something got missed - so re-check on patch days if you are having issues.

eq could change literally anything and it would require the way MQ interacts with that portion of EQ to be completely reworked. It is normally just offsets, sometimes struct changes --- with the large changes eq has been making over the past few months (updates and backend improvements) there are more things than just offset changes that are happening, so it can certainly be a lot of work for the devs.

Curious when Very Vanilla will be updated?
You'll get a web notification (if we have permission), site notification, and email (optional)

MacroQuest for Live servers:
MacroQuest for Test server

EQ patches go like this: (in theory)
2nd* tue/wed = test "real" patch
3rd* wed = live patch
4th* tue/wed = test "true up

the tue over the wed is a more recent thing (I suspect klanderso has more to do with that, and having time to ensure working stuff before the weekend and upset people - klanderso is pretty awesome)
* holidays subject to cause shifts in days or even week

test is notorious for being like "oops we forgot the 'dont crash plz' file, gotta patch again", or "woops we added +1 to crashing, we meant -1", so "on paper" it is double the patches, but very frequently ends up being more than double the work (i imagine, I'm not doing the work - I'd love to learn enough at some point to help facilitate doing so, however)

Mq itself is open source and by volunteer(s) - RG which builds and distributes that is obviously paid for.

Is this the thread I need to "Watch" to get the updates when the test server patch is out? I "Watch"ed the Live one so long ago now I don't remember how I get the email updates when that one is completed.

yes, have to watch the main page of it, not the discussion though.

brain said yesterday or today, hoping today as our crew on test had plans to try a new ToL raid tonight ... but the downside to test is downtime ... just gotta put on your patience pants and hope the RG crew can pull through in the clinch!

Almost feel like they need to wait a week to even bother. There are some oddities that DB is going to need to hot fix. Blue tint to the entire inventory screen, some trade skill workstations are invisible, etc.

I agree. i believe there will probably be about 5 patches for test as they work through all the bugs.

I believe most have been reported and confirmed already

Im still running around seeing if i can find anything useful that hasn't been mentioned.

Oh boy, at some point I feel I need to pick your brain on that raiding formation. I've just got my third set of toons up to 110 before this glitchy patch dropped. I guess I could start up another group and start the leveling process manually.

Yep, not sure how bad the DX11 gummed up the works, can't be great. Folks are already griping to have the bonus extended. Looks like a Starfield weekend to me!

Just FYI, the test build for MQ is going to be down for a while, this DX11 stuff is going to require a bunch of extra work

I know there is still probably work to do with the switchover to the newer dx but does anyone else as soon as they do /mac kissassist have eq lockup for about 5 seconds and then crash to desktop with no error message so far just on test server?

Yup. I'm having the same exact issue as you do.
My CWTN characters simply won't log in as per this thread : https://www.redguides.com/community...-crashing-on-the-new-9-20-test-compile.87696/

I'm assuming all of these crashes are intertwined.

Hi All. Since Test came back online yesterday, I'm encountering a few issues. I'm not 100% sure if I should create a separate thread for each or list them all in one. So I'll list everything here, but go into detail on one. I know you're swamped, so I'll hold off on posting new threads for the other issues until the system settles down a bit.

Overall issues:
1. My desktop crashes upon trying to run an AutoLogin (i.e. select profile -> character). This is the issue I'll focus on here.
2. /nav spawn [whatever] -- this just says "That is not a valid command", even though MQ2Nav shows as active in pluginman.
3. /travelto zonename -- This pops up the "Zone Path" window, but doesn't go anywhere (likely related to the above issue)
4. On my laptop (which isn't crashing on AutoLogin), EQ crashes to desktop with no crash report or anything when I try to run KissAssist.

Here is what I have on the crash (#1 above):

MQ_Crash_Popup.png

Since my laptop works fine, and my desktop crashes, I decided to also include a dxinfo screenshot from my desktop.

A little history: After the first EQ DX11 patch, I couldn't run on my desktop, but I could run EQ on my laptop. After the 2nd EQ patch, I could run EQ on both. Now after test RG is updated, the laptop is not crashing upon AutoLogin, but the desktop is crashing. Here is the dxinfo from the desktop. It is using built-in graphics that are fairly old, and DX12 isn't supported, however, DX11 does appear to be fully supported. One theory that I have is that perhaps there is some DX12 functionality being used and therefore my desktop is crashing but my laptop isn't (but this could be way off).

nav currently has some crashes on test - anything using nav, like kiss, or rgmercs, or cwtn plugins , or easyfind, or nav - are going to crash.

Having issues with Lua scripts after this latest patch. No UI is showing. It appears that the script is running fine but no graphics. Button Master does not load the UI, the Lua selection on the EQ button does not show the interface. Run a script from the command line and it appears to be starting and doing its thing.

Thanks

Overlays are disabled on test, Brainiac working on things.
