Useing cwtn none of my characters are auto attacking with assist, they will use skills and spells but not attack, any help would be appreciated
While we ate waiting on a fix. You can make a hotkey on whoever you are driving with to turn attack on.

/DEX CHARACTERNAME /attack on - will work in a pinch until the issue is sorted out.

If you're using dannet, that is. it's /bct charname //attack on - if you're using the other
 
For those of us on Test, that are running with CWTN plugins, here is what I am doing as a workaround for the autoattack issue. I created a button to broadcast to all my toons "/dgga attack on". This will get them all to autoattack even if they are in the middle of casting a spell. Additionally, I have a separate button for my Warrior. On occasion, MQ2War will stop working and he will just autoattack, using the method above. instead of staying in Mode 7 (SicTank). I made a hotbutton with:

/war mode 0
/pause 6
/war mode 7

This has temporarily solved this matter and gets him re-engaged and firing off CAs.

You need something to turn on attack, because mq thinks attack is off even when it is on, which means other stuff still isn't going to fire because mq doesn't think you are attacking.

Gonna have to sit tight until it is updated
 
I have an issue on test server when running mode 'tank' on my sk. He engages the mob when the puller is within camp radius but does not appear to turn on Attack. The monk does the same thing and will assist when the mob is at 98% (as configured) but will not Melee Attack. They will use AAs and combat skills but wont turn on attack. Any ideas?

this will be moved, but check test rg build thread. known issue, its being worked on.

For anyone with this issue, as noted, using bct to send '/bct charname //attack on' command works.
Keep in mind that your 'assist'ers will not turn on attack until the mob's health % is at the value of AutoAssistAt, which appears to default to 98. Wait till the mob % health is at or below that value before sending the '/attack on' otherwise the assister will not turn on attack.
 
When I'm trying to set ma mt etc and I right click in group window the game crashes completely closes that character like it was never logged in any ideas?

I made a hotkey on my tank

/grouproles set (charname) 1 --tank
/grouproles set (charname) 2 --main assist
/grouproles set (charname) 5 --master looter


1=MT, 2=MA, 3=PU, 4=Mark NPC, 5=ML

All of these "workarounds" and things you guys are attempting is fine and dandy - but in the end is pointless as there are some core bugs not resolved.

Brainiac stated in Discord which appears he has no intention of fixing the test server for some time due to the UI changes they are implementing, and quite frankly, don't blame him. Can't imagine the amount of work he has to go through to find everything they have changed, plus implement a system that works for both Test/Live during this transtition.

Maybe we will get lucky, maybe not. In the meantime, play on Live/EMU, or other games if you are solely on the Test server until DBG stops fiddling with their changes for a bit.

How is the community sharing different ways to work-around problems pointless? I have been messing around on test for the better part of the weekend and some of these work-arounds have allowed me to continue.

Where was that said? I expect test to be broken here and there for quite a while but I believe that tinkering with things on test will make it easier/faster for updates on live. The problems on test will eventually make their way to live.

Do you mean the screenshot of him saying it in Discord that was provided in the thread already? It was a few days ago, on the 6th I believe? Is it not there in Discord now?

While a workaround for setting roles has been around, and used for years (hotkey for making groups/roles) the attack thing is fairly new. What happens when they implement new UI changes in a couple of days? We have no indication that the Test server will be updated based on previous comments made and linked. Maybe something has changed? Maybe we will be lucky? Maybe not.

Oh...I must have misunderstood what you said in Discord then, my apologies. I took "Please don't play on Test, it will be continually broken for the rest of year..."(paraphrasing here) as a sign that development on this might be halted for a while since they are making all of these UI changes throughout the year and continually adding in these UI elements.

I am still not 100% from the stroke and apologies for my confusion.

hey man, you're a freakin saint! this is going to be a bumpy road with how slowly and randomly they are going to roll this new UI out..

There is a test server issue related to this.
I am Testing out plugins and group compositions on the test server right now and noticed this as well. I'm hoping its just horible timing on my part because I wanted to test how 2 SK in a group perform. Is this being looked into or should I move the 2 SK test to Live?

Hiya Demigun,

The devs are aware that there is probably an issue with a struct on test and will work on it as soon as they are able to sit down to it. You could wait until the issue is sorted, or you can move to live as it appears you own the Eskay plugin. With that said, test is where all your test before you buy type stuff should be done, so you're not buying something you don't want or have no need for. So if the idea is that you are planning to purchase other plugins and want to test them prior to getting them then it may be in your best interest to wait until test is sorted.

Thanks CWTN. Yes I purchased esKay already. I was so immediately impressed with it that I wanted to see how some others perform with it in various group configs. I am trying to decide if I replace one of my current toons with a second SK or build a new one on a new account or scrap that idea for a different one.
 
Mq2AutoLogin seems to be malfunctioning for me. It launches but does not alter the account name. If I manually enter the account name and re-select the profile in the GUI it will put in the password and continue on all the way into game. More info, this is both using Innerspace/ISBoxer or launching directly from the MQ icon in system tray.

Thanks for the quick turn-around on the patch! Was expecting a few days off!

My toons names are showing:
Firstname
(Lastname)
It's messing with me because it doesn't change when I'm invis. I usually run with /shownames 1 but it doesn't seem to be respecting any of those settings with todays update. I feel like there's a plugin for this, but I don't think I've ever messed with it. Thoughts?
 
I tried to test this plugin out on the test server, I tried tank mode and puller tank mode. In either case he doesn't turn on attack. I noticed the same behavior with the monk.

I assume this is an issue with test? It recently patched.

No big deal. I just figured I would let you know.
 
For those who haven't seen, Test server is going to be wonky all year due to constant breaking changes from the new UI. For now you'll have a better experience on live or emu.

Test Server just had a patch on Tuesday, how long does it take normally for Very Vanilla to be updated to? It wont let me load the Test version of MQ2
 
Okay cool, I was reading another post about the dates not matching so I tried what they said. Load the EQ patcher, then exit it. Load MQ2 Test version but at the top right it says Patch Day in red.
 
What to expect on patch days?
When eq patches MQ has to be rebuilt. (you also have to patch EQ --- this way you avoid "Version Mismatch" issues)

once mq is built RG can build - we now have an automated system that rebuilds RG as soon as it is updated - which means our previous method of "let's give it a quick test" is no longer there, and sometimes there ends up being another smaller patch later to correct if something got missed - so re-check on patch days if you are having issues.

eq could change literally anything and it would require the way MQ interacts with that portion of EQ to be completely reworked. It is normally just offsets, sometimes struct changes --- with the large changes eq has been making over the past few months (updates and backend improvements) there are more things than just offset changes that are happening, so it can certainly be a lot of work for the devs.

EQ patches go like this: (in theory)
2nd* tue/wed = test "real" patch
3rd* wed = live patch
4th* tue/wed = test "true up

the tue over the wed is a more recent thing (I suspect klanderso has more to do with that, and having time to ensure working stuff before the weekend and upset people - klanderso is pretty awesome)
* holidays subject to cause shifts in days or even week

test is notorious for being like "oops we forgot the 'dont crash plz' file, gotta patch again", or "woops we added +1 to crashing, we meant -1", so "on paper" it is double the patches, but very frequently ends up being more than double the work (i imagine, I'm not doing the work - I'd love to learn enough at some point to help facilitate doing so, however)

Mq itself is open source and by volunteer(s) - RG which builds and distributes that is obviously paid for.
