Its funny how quiet it goes on test when MQ build is down... Its like a ghost town until VV is back up and then its a flurry of activity..

I like turning those days into either bank wars: the unwinnable game or Spreadsheets, how do they work?
 
It's a conspiracy. DBG knows that I created some toons specifically on Test, so they don't want to let me get a Stein on all my toons - Live and Test. :p

So are we not able to use MQ whilst playing on the Test server at present ?
I feel your pain. I haven't played EQ in about 9 months and while showing my 7 year old some old pictures came across an old EQ screenshot. I decided to start playing again and found Test is down. I know the RG team is working hard to fix it, but the withdrawals once the EQ bug hits you.
I continue my RG sub even while not playing, but DB isn't getting anything from me anymore. Test or nothing at this point.
 
I've not been able to play EQ since the patch bcoz of my disabilities. I can only login and say hello and chat a few minutes then log. I am in hopes they can get this patch out soon. However, I do know it can take time, so I am being patient.
 
I been doing the anniversary quests while MQ2 is being worked on. I been quite refreshing to slow down and enjoy some quests while they are working on the new UI issues.

Just curious have you tried using MQ while doing some of the Anniversary quests? Was thinking it might be lower risk potential just using some basic elements - in particular moving and singing for the Stein Quest.

I think he means on the test server... so he can't run MQ at all.. just run the anniv quests the (EWW) old fashioned way... alot of the ones that are good rewards are pretty easy with an endgame lvl/geared toon..

Ive been doing the same thing.. I always have stuff planned for when MQ is down and being worked on.. that way you're not stuck sitting in the forums waiting (patiently) for that update hehe

That is exactly what I am doing. I fully agree. I have alternatives ready. If I run out of anniversary quests on the test server, I have a few rogue quests that I want to do including my 1.5 epic which I been purposely holding off due to the difficulty of the quest.

eq could change literally everything requiring any and everything to be rebuilt but usually not the case. it is often just offset, sometimes struct changes --- with the large changes eq has been making over the past few months (updates and backend improvements), there are frequently more things than just offset changes that are happening, so it can certainly be a lot of work for the devs.

What to expect on patch days?

EQ patches go like this: (in theory)
2nd* tue/wed = test "real" patch
3rd* wed = live patch
4th* tue/wed = test "true up

the tue over the wed is a more recent thing (I suspect klanderso has more to do with that, and having time to ensure working stuff before the weekend and upset people - klanderso is pretty awesome)
* holidays subject to cause shifts in days or even week

test is notorious for being like "oops we forgot the 'dont crash plz' file, gotta patch again", or "woops we added +1 to crashing, we meant -1", so "on paper" it is double the patches, but very frequently ends up being more than double the work (i imagine, I'm not doing the work - I'd love to learn enough at some point to help facilitate doing so, however)

Mq itself is open source and by volunteer(s) - RG which builds and distributes that is obviously paid for.

Thanks for the update ... slow down on it though... next test patch is in a week iirc. And there is veteran to be yet another migraine thrown in. And I only play on test so it sux but yeah ..
 
Thanks for the update It will give me time to work on my rogue epic 1.5. Got the pre-quest knocked out yesterday, so I am making the most of the MQ downtime :).

Rog 1.5 was one of the most annoying things I've ever done in EQ. I instantly remembered why I never did epics in-era.

I been holding off because of this quest. But with all the UI Changes coming up it is a good time to do it. I have a feeling we are going to have some downtime.
 
New build is crashing. Can get to character select but once I hit Enter World it crashes. Tried on several different toons and got the same error.

am also getting an issue with autologin version mismatches. and if i skip autologin and try manual logins it crashes when toon loads into world ...
 
MQ2Map and MQ2EasyFind are instant crashes for me. Everything else that I use is loading and functioning fine.
 
Yeah they changed a lot of the UI code :(

If you guys can let me know what works and what doesn't, or If you have crash Ids let me know them. I'll have to look at them tomorrow. Wanted to get something out to at least start collecting data since its been a while already..

Thanks so much for the work on it!

I just loaded every plugin shown in Plugin Manager and only crash with Map and EasyFind. I know just loading them doesn't guarantee they work, but at least everything else loaded!

Not sure if the info goes here but the CWTN class plugins don't seem to be turning auto-attack on for me. -shrug-

mq2itemdisplay, doesnt insta crash you, until you inspect an item, then it crashes as soon as you do.

mq2easyfind, and mq2advpath load if you load them while in game, but if you log out and try to log back in it crashes.

So far these seem to be working fine, only been testing with one toon so we'll see once i try to load in more

Thanks for the heads up @Aanorok . I started with those two plugins.. I was able to load into the game with only MQ2EasyFind removed from my list..

I crashed when inspecting an item in inventory.. So next step I'm going to try unloading mq2itemdisplay.. will keep going and adding as i find things..

yep seeing the same thing so far as well, except I am able to log in with mq2map on by default

Edit: Nope, it crashes when i tried another toon lol... mq2map not working , weird it worked one time though..

So a little more testing mq2advpath seems to be working fine, loaded it and logged a toon out then back in with no issues. so my one crash must have been from easyfind.

Lua's i've tried so far, overseer, easy, guildclicky, all respond ok and seem to be working..

havent rolled the team out yet for any killing mobs though..
 
I'm a noob at this but when I try to enter the world, I crash with the error below. I'm not sure what plugins are automatically loaded so I can't comment on that (yet).

As posted above, 3 seem to be giving the issue. go into your MQ ini and set them to 0 1680438689264.png

ran my usual team to give the rat anniversary mission a go, all worked as expected, except having to maually tell the team to attack. the only toon that assisted and attacked on their own was the bard, he's using kissassist, all the CWTN toons had to be told to assist and attack. they followed and mimiced as per usuall, just the auto attacking seemed to be an issue
 
Thanks! That worked. I set those three to 0 and logged into the world. Overseer is working, haven't tested any others yet.
 
I cannot log into test with MQ2 running. I got the most recent patch and also saw the above posts (put 0 in the three plugins).
