Question - Using a VPN with MQ2 and EQ

My EQ account has been hacked twice in the past, both were apparently "Key Logger Algorithm" but all I know is that I lost a crap load of stuff as this was my Money/Krono/Higher end gear toon.

Sorry, my question is this ...will MQ2 VV run using a VPN and does anyone know a workaround to get EQ to run under a VPN. EQ seems to want you to always play under the same IP and if not ...you must go through their security protocol to prove you are who you say you are. Doesn't seem to be the case with the above incident(s).

Thanks for the input.

I don't think MQ2 cares about a VPN or not. However, if you got hacked by a key logger then a VPN will not stop it. The key logger would be on your local machine. I would advise scanning your computer with a good A/V or something like Malwarebytes. Also run windows updates to make sure you are up to date.

Was not using a VPN at the time. I now change all my gaming passwords every 30 days ...sounds like a lot, but I lost a lot off that account. Don't want to be posting threads on here not related to RedGuide subjects. I use Norton 360 w/Lifelock and VPN bundled. FYI, I was IT before I retired due to neck injury in 2000. Now I am just a 62 year old fart just trying to have fun.

Brian has the right of it, no amount of changing your password or securing your connection over VPN will stop a keylogger. But yes, anti-virus and safe practices and his answer that VPN is fine for EQ are all correct.

I've been using VPN for years and never had to go through any security protocols to connect to EQ.

Much has changed in IT since 2000. The one golden rule remains the same. Once a system has been compromised fdisk.

VPN only hide your traffic from your ISP, Daybreak knows your coming through a VPN, which is why they may be triggering the “prove it’s you” precaution.
