  1. Assist
What class is having this issue?
  1. Magician
How often does this issue occur?
Always
Can you reproduce the issue?
Any time I try to launch /mac kissassist!
Hello!

I've just joined RedGuides and downloaded Very Vanilla. The Beginner's Guide to KissAssist says I should start by typing /mac kissassist on my character. When I do, however, it says that MQ2Rez and MQ2Posse are required and not found. I have both check marked on the Plugin list on RedGuides Update. When I tried to start MQ2Posse (via /mac mq2posse) to see if I could launch that before trying to start up KissAssist, I immediately got the message that the posse.mac file was not found. I looked in the Macros folder in my installation of MQ2VeryVanilla, and indeed, there is no posse.mac file included there. There is an MQ2Posse.dll in the main folder of MQ2. I searched for MQ2Posse, and found that it's supposed to be included with the VeryVanilla download.

Does anyone have any idea what I may have done incorrectly? My apologies if the question is as stupid as it seems; as I said, I am very new to (trying to) use it!

anything with a .DLL is a plugin and needs to be loaded using
Code:
/plugin mq2nameofplugin
anything located in your macros folder needs to be started using
Code:
/mac macronamehere

MQ2Posse and MQ2rez are what is known as plugins, and thus they reside in the release folder, these are run by macroquest2 when you load them

/plugin mq2posse
and
/plugin mq2rez

now both should load and be set to load in the future

now you can go ahead and start kiss up by using the /mac kissassist command

now it will probably tell you it needs someone to assist, but dont worry bout that yet.

now you go to the macros folder find the kissassist_magicianname.ini and you set it up or ask on the discord if someone has an ini for your level they would like to share, or look through the ini resources here on redguides.

have a decent level 105 magician ini i can share if you like, it should be fairly easy to edit it to use level 110 spells, else i know maskoi posted a nice level 110 ini.

once your ini is setup you add a role tag in the general section

role=

and assign one of these roles if you only run a mage
  • Role=PetTank - This role allows for a pet class (Mage/Necromancer/Beastlord) to have their pet tank.
  • Role=PullerPetTank - This role allows for a pet class (Mage/Necromancer/Beastlord) to BOTH pull and have their pet tank.
if you are in group and assisting of someone else, set the role to assist, and target that person when you start kissassist.

Okay. /plugin mq2posse did indeed load, however, trying to use /plugin mq2rez says Plugin 'mq2rez' could not be loaded. That does have a .dll file in the main folder, as well as a rez.mac in the Macros folder.

I'm sorry! From more experimentation, it seems that it only likes to load one plugin at a time. After I activate either .dll with /plugin whichever, the other fails. If that helps any, heh.

okay
open the file macroquest.ini

find the plugin section
set both plugins to be loaded by changing their =0 to =1

also post your plugin section we might need to cull it.

okay the problem is definitely you have all the plugins on, ALL OF THEM! so you are pushing the limit of what mq2 can handle

here is my suggestion of what you need for now.

INI:
{Plugins]
#Plugins needed, this is plugins you need to atleast have basic mq2 experience, mq2hud and mq2autologin, only if you use those.
mq2autologin=1
mq2chatwnd=1
mq2eqbc=1
mq2eqbugfix=1
mq2hud=1

mq2moveutils=1

#Plugins for kiss, these plugins are used by kiss in one way or another, i personally have them off and let kiss turn on what it needs.

mq2easyfind=1

#Going through your plugins i think you should consider if you know what each does and if you use it regularly, or in special cases.

mq2afnuke=1 //if you dont use this, turn it off, its a plugin that handles nuking for some specific classes.
mq2autocamp=1 //turn this off or you gonna cry alot
mq2autosize=1 //turn this off too, its useless

That worked. I'd checked everything simply because I didn't know what a lot of them did, or if essential macros might make use of them. Thank you so much for your kind assistance!
