howdy all, i havent seen this little trick posted anywhere so i thought i would share....

if you play on TLP server like me then you know how precious all access days can be. not sure how this trick works on live server characters, ive only tested it with TLP

if you leave your everquest account logged into the character select screen, you will not be kicked out if your all access runs out.

so if you can leave your computer on for days without any network interruptions you can keep playing even if your all access days hit 0.

for example after the last hotfix for the patch day(march 28), i noticed one of my accounts only had 3 all access days left. i restarted my computer and updated everything(also change your computer powersaver settings: screensaver, turning off monitors, sleeping/hibernating...you dont want anything to bug out your EQ clients) to prep my computer to stay on for 2 weeks in order to maximize this trick. after im done playing on this account i just /camp and leave the client at character select screen. next time i want to play i just load in from character select screen like normal. when im logged in it says i have 0 all access days but i can still play like normal. the only real trick is to NOT CLOSE THE CLIENT. the key is to leave the client open at all times. also dont use the marketplace or /claim!

my computer has been running for over two weeks and ive gotten away with probably 10 days of free all access from this once instance. i also only ever buy all access with krono so there is no way they can charge me.

with a patch day coming up ill be forced to close the client and consume a krono. which is also why i wanted to share this now. so you all can get ready after this next patch you can do this trick if one of your accounts is going to run out.

Usually what happens to me is my account will run out of gold days and I am like aww yisss I get some free time. I leave them at the char select for like one or two nights tops.

Then I wake up to find windows update has restarted my computer and thus, I have to krono them again to log in.

Really pissed off about that feature of windows 10. At least 7 WARNED you and gave you an option to delay that shit for 4hrs. Windows 10 just says f you we're updating now deal with it.

Yeah you sorta have to get lucky with no interruptions like power/network outages and random updates going off like you said lol

I've utalized this trick twice now. First time I got about 5-7 days extra before I was forced to close. This second time I'm going on 14+ days lol it's nice

whatever you do, do not open marketplace or /claim or your toon will reset to silver/free!

My dude that I was doing this with (just two or three days over gold expiration) crashed when zoning via campfire and I had to eat a freakin Krono ... bah! Lame! hah

my pc's uptime: 17:07:04:30

yielded me about 14 days of extra free all access playtime yahoooo!!!!

Thanks to update just lost 5 free kroon time toons...

guess they will start a new kroon when the servers come back up...

more free daze... ive got a full group going on a week now playing with 0 all access days... this still works!

With how much the servers have been crashing you're lucky as fuck.

Each time my toons get to 0 days shit crashes it seems. I am hating it.

haha, same here. I need to restart my router, but with all the login drama the last few days I'm hesitant to bring my guys offline. I think I'll just stick it out until the servers go down on their own!

Mine usually only goes for 5ish days, then I get a client crash. I never crash anymore with all the bug fixes EQmule has been doing, and I'm not the only one that it seems to happen to.

Your looking at a 15-20$ increase on your electric for a month - so if you run one toon this is not worth it, just use a krono.

If you are camping multiple toons, it might be worth it, yes. :)

$15-20 to run a computer? If that were the case I would be paying over $100 a month on my 5 computers which I never turn off. Where did you get this info? :(

Testing multiple PC's (including two server boxes)

I guess it also depends on hardware.

i7 6700k @ 5.6ghz
32 GB DDR4 2666
1070 and 650ti (physx calc)
1500w PSU

8x Misc drives (6 ssd 2 mechanical)

It's not bad information. :P Just perhaps miss-calculated. I forget my PC isn't the norm sometimes.

Last I checked physical disks take more power than an SSD. Also if your afk turn your monitor off / stand by. Monitor can draw quite a bit of power over time too

15 - 20$ a month is decently accurate for a computer if you're leaving it on 24/7. It does depend a lot on your hardware, in fact, it depends entirely on your hardware and what the computer is doing while it's on aka how much power it's pulling. But 15 - 20$ a month to leave your comp on would probably be a accurate estimate for at least 35 - 55% of computer users

There is no real way to calculate your power usage without busting out a power meter. What I usually do since I don't own one though is do a Power Supply Calculator - http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

Then I usually estimate the info I got off that and calculate that into how much I pay for electricity and such.
