Leveling - Thuliasaur Island Super XP.

Could someone point me to the 15 tasks needed to gain access? I just came back in TBM and no one's really talking about/doing this stuff in my guild now.

It's all the TDS progression tasks up to and including the two for Thuliasaur Island that give you access to the group mission (which is this mission). Go to www.eqresource.com (I think that's the right site... I'm at work and can't test), click on The Darkened Sea, and then click on Progression. You'll see all the missions required. Alternatively, you can simply go to the zone link for Thuliassaur island, find this task in the list, and it'll tell you in the pre-requisites/required tasks portion the tasks and stuff you need to request this group mission. Both methods give you a basic list of everything needed. One thing not mentioned is you'll likely need to do a couple of other, additional tasks, in Degmar, the Lost Castle to get the required faction to request the 1st group mission and continue progression.
 
Just tried to task add and campfire in a lvl 85 heroic toon to get some exp with my 105's inside the mission. No go. I got a message saying 85 was too low. Guess I have to level them and two other heroics some other way!

Edit: just checked again ... minimum level is 95.
 
Also can't campfire into the mission to skip flagging, can campfire into ha though
 
HOT TIP: if you have 3 people keyed for this you can start it up and campfire in 3 that are have not done the progression yet! I did this and then the original 3 left the instance and I brought 3 more in, so all 6 were not keyed. Then I did it a few more times to get 3 teams in with almost all not keyed! mwahahahaha

P.S. for anyone flagging people to do this mission, it appears as if campfiring toons in to skip progression doesn't work inside the mission Fit For The New World. I was only able to get the 5 toons who I'd done progression with into the mission.
 
This is very true. As much as it sucks, you have to do progression flagging to get into the mission.
 
I have been noticing some odd things lately with AA exp in this instance. Some mobs I get 40% of an AA whereas others I get 80%. This is without any exp mods such as Lessons or pots or even enchanter exp aura. Also all mobs are yellow, and entire group is 105 with 100% going to AA and over 10K AA.

I could have sworn before that every mob was giving 80% AA per kill, When the 17th anniversary bonus exp was going on, I was getting 132% of an AA.

Now it seems some are 40 and some are 80, SO odd...

---ok, it seems that the harder mobs in TDS are worth 2x the exp that is the reason for the difference. That is solved.


Even with constant yellow mobs for 5h50m of the instance, grinding out AAs is slow. I got to do another 5K AA on the Beast ugh. Anywhere else have a better AA grind spot?

The tasks aren't too insane, but 5 boxing I had some heartache with the water some (I HATE fighting in water in EQ, and especially while boxing), and a task in Brother Island (iirc) where you have to burn down 3 mobs that have pretty fast respawn timers before you can do a hail. If a mob respawns you can't hail because all mobs have to be dead. I tried getting fancy with it, but eventually just said fuck it and zerged it with full burn. Wasn't bad once I did that.

Good luck! Tasks took me more than a weekend, but you might be faster. I also found the group missions to be pretty easy compared to some of the single person tasks, so that was nice. Only one group mission was a pain in the ass.

• Gathering Clouds - Given by Krinoch Jal in Tempest Temple.

• The Pellarus Sanctum - Given by Head Mage Antius in Katta Castrum: Deluge.
• The Edge of Balance - Given by Firiona Vie in Katta Castrum: Deluge.

Completing the following missions will grant you access to Degmar, the Lost Castle:
• Just Recompense - Given by Jameswell Dagmire in Brother Island.
• The Cover of Night - Given by Quigley Barnables in Brother Island.

• Loyal is the Heart - Given by Brother Dilgen in Caverns of Endless Song.
• Leave No Brother Behind - Given by Brother Dilgen in Caverns of Endless Song.
• Two Sides of the Shield - Given by Brother Visius in Caverns of Endless Song.

Completing the following missions will grant you access to Thuliasaur Island:
• The Sacred Profaned - Given by Thubr Axebringer in Degmar, the Lost Castle.

• Castle Crasher

• Castle Raid

• Castle Relic - Given by Priestess Gli'helin in Degmar, the Lost Castle.
• Crying for the Dead - Given by Thubr Axebringer in Degmar, the Lost Castle.

• Burden of the Past - Given by Thubr Axebringer in Degmar, the Lost Castle.

Completing the following missions will grant you access to Combine Dredge:
• An Endless Cycle - Given by Lyirae Oakynd in Thuliasaur Island.
• To Remake Eden - Given by Galeth Veredeth in Thuliasaur Island.
• Fit for the New World - Given by Galeth Veredeth in Thuliasaur Island.

Completing the following missions will grant you access to Arx Mentis:
• A Fickle Wind Blows - Given by Firiona Vie in Combine Dredge.
• What Hate Begets - Given by Firiona Vie in Combine Dredge.
• Deep Lies the Snow - Given by Firiona Vie in Combine Dredge.
 
Best xp in game still reamins DH HA's properly run. Doing an HA in 5 minutes only bringing in the person needing AA for the last kill/turn in of each step with a lesson on and camping right after they get the reward.
 
I think they just nerfed the experience here, probably @2 hours ago. Usually you get 80% of an aa per kill or 40% occasionally. Now it's 26% and 13% per kill. I have three teams going, one I started early and that team is getting 80%-40% per kill. The other two was started later than that one and all of them are only getting 26%-13% per kill now. Confirmed it by experience tracker and the EQ experience bar correlates to the tracker. All toon are doing 100% exp. to aa's. Not sure what other reason there can be for the lowered exp. per kill than that it has just been nerfed.

Restarted mission, got 80% exp on the first kill, which was pulled from the pack of mobs to get the instant respawns on the beach going. All the instant respawns are now only giving 26-13% exp. , which makes this a not worth doing. Think light blue mobs in RoF give more experience per kill than this and have 1/4th the hitpoints.
 
Well, I don't understand it. Some of my toons are getting 80-40% per kill and some are getting 26-13% per kill and they're in the same group on the same exact mob. Just yesterday, all were getting 80-60%. It's not a fellowship thing or any other experience modifier. Although I do have a couple halflings.

Jax, if you get 80-40% aa a kill, it really depends on your kill rate. However, it's easy to set it up and have a group on auto for 6 hours. If you can run DH HA's on auto, that's good too and I might try to see if I can make use of some of the macs for doing that.
 
They may have nerfed exp in the FTP content, similar to what they did when COTF went FTP. They were forcing people out of COTF and into newer zones.
 
I think it went FTP Saturday. I tried going there on a FTP account Friday, but was not able to. Tried again Saturday and boom. Other FTP toons locked at 100 going to 101.
 
so we have a verdict on this? i was working on the progression but if its been nerfed ill just pass. did the xp get nerfed that bad?
 
XP wasn't nerfed, but the XP in EoK is just THAT good that this could be considered soft of "meh" now.
 
nebulous look up eq resource, its the progression tasks. The ones you have to do to get to the next zone.
 
You currently cannot do this mission the quest giver has been removed from the game to "fix" something, presumably the instant re-spawning mobs.

Damn, really? No idea why it'd be fixed now.... considering how long its been in game.

If it really is fixed, then I'd finally believe that someone from DBG is a member and systematically going through exploits posted here and fixing them. My tinfoil hat fits perfectly.
 
I saw that claim on forums, but the NPC was in zone when I went and looked.

"- Fit for the New World - The guards on patrol will no longer re-spawn and are worth significantly less experience."

Aka this will no longer be useful ... again ... no idea why they'd nerf it now ... the exp in EoK is WAY higher/faster.
 
Probably because some Daybreak staff decided to sub to RG and have been scouring the forums for all exploits they can shut down!

Unfortunately, that's my thought, as well.

Maybe time for a little IP review for recent subs with no or very little posting activity.

Update from today's test server patch:

"- Fit for the New World - The guards on patrol will no longer re-spawn and are worth significantly less experience."

Aka this will no longer be useful ... again ... no idea why they'd nerf it now ... the exp in EoK is WAY higher/faster.

I am going to have to disagree on the slower part previously. I know people had posted it and I kind of just assumed it was to shut down any attention to it. I was able to max 110 max AA a toon here in like 1 day of RoS launch. Bouncing around in EoK the last few weeks and it is way more of a headache for the same speed or slower on other toons. Chardok, korsha, FM super spam do not compare to what this place could put out. Hell I didn't even afk here I sat at computer tabbing through multibox spending the AA as they flew in heh. It was definitely an exploit (no loot though so they clearly messed with it previously) but boy was it beautiful.

This is why I did all the progression to get to the mission, upon zoning into Thuliasuar there was no Galeth I cried.

Ya, thinking mums the word from now on for stuff like this. I knew about the respawns on the beach without this thread. I am sure many of us did. Posting about it may help a few people that don't, but then this happens.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. I used this to max AA's during TBM. When EoK came out and it was time to work on levels and AA's, I tried going back to here. AA exp per kill was significantly slower than in EoK. While the insta-spawn is nice, it just doesn't compare. Also, toss in the fact that you have to set it up each time the instance ends, and then sometimes you waste time having to churn through more than one instance until you get the insta-spawn thing setup, and its just not worth it. Just go to EoK, in an open zone that doesn't require a bunch of bs flagging, and churn AA's and levels faster.

Oh, also you can have out-of-group DPS help you if you're in an open zone. That's obviously not possible with the dino instance.
 
I can confirm that this has been "fixed". The mobs on the beach do not respawn.

The mobs at the beach when the main bunch of mobs moved up before was 1,2, or 3. Those were the insta spawn mobs, which now do not respawn.

Now there are two groups of bunches, of about 12 mobs each. One mob moves up to the Sgt area and the other bunch stays at the beach.

The exp is super lovely now. Was getting between 1 to 3 percent on full AA depending if it was a double HP mob.

We can take this off the menu as it sucks for exp and mob availability.
