Moving forward, wanting to get a poll from the users to find out the most desired plugin request so that I can focus on that one next.
I think a healer or crowd control is still missing to complete a group setup so I'm expecting one of those. But surprise me if you must.

Cleric and enchanter. Fundamentally, a healer and CC. Bard is just Ench/War. Pally is Clr/War. So you speed development on hybrids by getting the Heal And CC logics worked about in the base class. Third place to me is SHA, as shaman basis for BST and are used frequently as primary healers these days. Again, getting cleric working speeds shaman, pally, and bst.

bard is definitely NOT an ENC/WAR. I’d leave bards out of any hybrid discussion ... they’re too different.

Also, there are good options to help you heal and nuke better (MQ2Heals and MQ2AFNuke). So using that as justification to go after a healer class next is a bit of a stretch to me.

I’d recommend bard or ranger, if you’re up for a challenge. Your zerker plugin is the standard now. There isn’t a macro equivalent for bards or rangers. Bards are too different and rangers have dramatically different play styles based on a lot of factors that are hard to control in kissassist.

But kissassist + mq2heals/mq2afnuke gets you 99% of the way there for your two cases. While maybe it's not reusable, it's also not necessary for the community to have ANOTHER option for caster dps or healing. It's just a waste of time. The community (IMO) would benefit more overall from having resources available to it that is hard to do on your own (bard) or complicated because of the variety of roles and situations (bard + ranger).

I believe sic said they had a semi functioning Bst already. Though imo, a bst or mage plugin needs to have logic for pet tanking as well as logic to switch to pet tanking if the mt goes down.


I still stick with cleric. Kiss is having issues lately, particularly with rezzing, but healing just isn't fast enough for some things. Perhaps a plugin will be able to cope.

My vote(s) are for Shaman, Ranger, and Beastlord purely for selfish reasons. However if I were part of development I would agree with Denethor that working on a class that could then help in the development of other classes would be weighted as more important in my mind purely for convenience/efficiency purposes.

So with that in mind my vote is for Shaman to be the next plugin to be developed as the functionality of the Shaman can easily be applied to plugins for other classes to speed those along too since Shaman Heal, Debuff, Dot, etc.

I got a vote too, and I picked cleric and enchanter. The reasons for my selection were not in line with anyone elses reasons. The reason was because I already have a tank, and I already have some DPS classes, and feel that in order to complete a group I need only a healer and crowd control.

With that said, any character that casts will be a cumbersome task because branching logic out to a caster will create new challenges that were not present prior. In regards to looking at MQ2Heals or MQ2AFNuke, I do want to avoid looking at how others are doing something in that regard and focus on creating my own methods of handling things. Not to say either of those plugins were done "wrong" so much as to say that to truely create something my own I would need to think of how I would personally handle the situation were I actually playing the character and then try to make the plugin recreate those steps. Then much like with my other plugins, get feedback from the users that would allow me to see it from the point of view of other users and try to get it to also do things the way they would do it were they manually playing the character if it fits with the way the plugin can operate at that point.

I would pick beastlord to go next. Hybrid slower class with pet would open the doors to casters and slower along with pet.
Only thing they lack is cc to be the all around toon

Cleric is so linear and easily controlled by macros where you are very specific In your plugins it seems other classes would benefit more from what you do

If you have the final say in a decision, and you share your opinion before everyone else is finished sharing theirs, they are less likely to disagree with you or share anything at all.

I'd just point out that I don't think there's another class on these boards that has more support and options available than clerics. It is a core class (like you pointed out), and it's seen macros, plugins, .inis, etc. developed for it exactly like it was a core class.

Also, @Redbot and others just finished a competition for an optimized chanter .ini that is being shared with the community. I mean, I guess you could work on it, too, and go through addressing all the permutations yourself via a plugin, but why?

I voted cleric shaman bard....
cleric because as a core class, something optimized in plugin form would be $$$. especially if it can be configured to be an optimized raid healer as well as a group healer.
shaman primarily for selfish reasons, as I have a few of them and find the flexibility to be healer or DPS to be great. ADPS to support your already existing melee DPS plugins is also a benefit.
bard satisfies the CC role, true group puller role, ADPS, and all around useful toon... that being said, I think it would be the most complex class to code so maybe save that as KISS does a reasonable job at barding.

Well in this case I do not have the final say in the decision. It's been left wholely up to the users and the results of this poll. Once completed, the class on top will be the focus moving forward. The truth of the matter is that with any decided on class the issue that I currently find myself dealing with is spell casting, and regardless of which class is chosen I'll be obligated to tackle the issue because all remaining classes are spell casters.

That means that no matter which one is selected I will deal with:
Automatically generating a list of things to do during combat and downtime.
Determining which things to memorize, and when.
Handling doing things inside of and outside of combat dealing with spells.
Working with targeting during combat, meaning to switch targets and cast spells as needed.
Handle interrupting detrimental spell casts in favor of beneificial (heals/rez before nuke/dot).
trying to manage the added feature of melee combat while maintaining appropriate level of survival.
Allowing the user to maintain their own spell set and reacting accordingly based on the currently memorized spells.
watching the buffs of other members of the group in order to maintain keeping buffs on all members or specified members of the group.
Managing mana so as not to mana dump while nuking/healing etc, but still managing to be a useful part of a cohesive group.
Handling burn routines that involve casting spells that are needed without allowing the group to die in the process. (Burn heals, vs normal heals, burn buffs after all heals. etc)
Determining the best way to approach all the above without people dying because I didn't do it right.

Unlike all the classes I've done up to this point, spell casters are a different breed regardless if they are hybrid, or a core class. None of these classes will be done quickly, and all of them will require extensive testing. Regardless which one of them is selected by the users.

When you create the Cleric class one, I suggest having at least 1 nuke memmed for when content is trivial so it is not standing around waiting for something to buff/heal. Maybe melee em too.

I don't mean this in an argumentative manner, i'm horribly ignorant of the intricate workings of MQ2.. kiss doesn't seem to handle healing and switching quickly enough for ToV level content.
Perhaps you could shed some light on my issue.
With full ascending sun raid geared warriors,SKs,Pals.... they are almost dropping to bullshit trash mobs in Kael and EW.
I was hoping to clear ToV at some point prior to the next Xpac. I've managed RoS and parts of TBL but I don't see myself going much farther.
I do need to mess around with MQ2Heals while raiding but if I can't handle group content i'm not going to be able to handle raid mobs. (Not that any of this was ever intended for raiding)
I'm sure I have some holes in my setup but ive had some very well respected members of the community remote into my computer and try to fix my problems without any luck. (And the offer still stands if anyone is able to fix it)

I have personally been using the test version of MQ2Cleric which has been distributed with VV for free at the moment and it’s a really nice plugin. Instant Rez, if I die it’s because I’m simply pulling more than is humanly possible to tank with my gear or I forgot to load the plugin.
Don’t forget to update your MQ2 to get the latest update of the plugin. You should not have any issues with your tanks dropping like flies in those zones, in that gear, with MQ2Cleric!

This plugin is simply FAST when you compare it to scripts, Let me shed some light on MQ2 Healing solutions coming from my own personal experience:

- AutoCleric <--- This was the BANG! it was really fast and for some time well maintained, sad to see it going obsolete.

- MQ2Heals <-- Fast and works with SHM/Druids and you can also use it with KissAssist at the same time.

- IHCSMercs <--- is what i'm using currently and used in TBL. It's very close to MQ2Cleric but still scripted. Now supported and maintained by large number of our community.

- MQ2Cleric <--- Still under development but carries HUGE Expectations. CWTN maintains nice plugins like MQ2Berzerker/Rogue/SK which to my experfience the best in terms of speed and maintenance by the author.

If your raid geared warriors, SKs, and Pallies are dropping to trash mobs in Kael and EW non-raid zones, then you're either pulling too many mobs at once or you're doing something wrong that no plugin or macro would ever fix. I tank 3-4 trash mobs in EW/GD and 2-3 in Kael/Velks with zero issues using MQ2Heals and a mostly blank kissassist (only has buffs filled in). My SK is mostly RoS raid geared... so obviously far inferior (in theory) to your tanks.

If you're talking about healing while killing trash in raid content, that's a different story. However, it's still doable and you shouldn't be seeing the issues you're supposedly seeing if everything is properly setup.
