targeting npc and not corpse of same name (1 Viewer)

I am trying to modify a bard chant macro so that it will always pick a particular npc first if it is up (mainly because the sooner it is killed the safer it is to kill the rest). The problem I have is that when I use /target "spawnname" it tends to target the corpse of its previous incarnation.

How can I filter a /target command to target a particular npc and not a corpse of the same type of mob?

Grassdunes, you can just type /target npc xxxxx and it should skip the corpse automatically. There are a lot of different conditions you can use with the target command, check out the MQ2 Wiki for a full list.
