Tip - Tank AC recommendation per expansion

I recently bought the latest expansion and tried jumping into ToV on my 110 6 box and trash mobs were wiping my group.

I was wondering if there’s a list of suggested AC before diving into each expansion available? For reference, my SK with group buffs was sitting at 4600AC in mostly dread suzerains.

EDIT: Mispoke sllightly, I have 5500 with 1H+Shield. Only 4600 with 2H.

jeez, 4600 is pretty low.

I seem to recall tbl or tov you were looking for like 7500 ac S/B

for ToV/CoV you want *AT LEAST* ToV T1 gear.

Check out raidloot.com. You can refine the search by expansion and organize the list by AC. Not sure what server you’re on but on FV you can buy ToV and CoV t1 armor for pretty cheap.

I just came back recently and had to go through the same thing. Being able to snatch up a set of T1 armor will really help.

So you will need 1h/shield for tov no doubt. But sounds like you don’t have any augs. Is this the case? I don’t how you will get by in TOV with anothing less than 7000ac. But it’s been awhile hard to remember all the values.

You can do ToV with about 6300 AC. I started there on my pally with s full set of ToV visibles and a smattering of crap gear. It will be rough to start but once you hit about 7k AC tov, other than namers, will be trivial. I now am at 7200 and I tank with my 2h. Just make sure your crew kills fast :p Also I had to use a cleric for heals back then, shm could not keep me up so keep that in mind.

ToV T1 gear is like trash now on most servers. I doubt people even bother looting in anymore so you can prolly nab at least one set for free.

You are on the right track being 110 to start ToV and all but an issue as mentioned already is the gear quality. You've essentially skipped TBL gear which overall is a large upgrade from the conflagrant stuff.

T3 TBL group gear is only a little behind ToV T1 at lvl 110, but may pull ahead with the charm slot for wearing TBL gear if you don't have the charm for ToV gear.

Do you also have at least 40ac in each aug slot on your tank? this helps quite a bit.
Have you added or upgraded the Slot 5 heroic stat gear in your armor?
Hows your AAs? do you have the defensives like combat agility/stability maxxed up to TBL ranks?
Are you using a defensive ability rotation? Between defensive discs/AAs/epic/anguish BP/Diplo papers I can maintain always have something defensive going. SK isn't as straight forward as the warrior rotation but its doable.

If you like to get your gear through progression and hunting I'd recommend trying to upgrade to at least TBL tier 1 weeping undefeated stuff. The chest slot is like 70ac/600hp upgrade from conflagrant. If you can get ToV T1 its 200ac/1.7k hp upgrade and will get you going pretty quick.

Are you using cleric heals by chance? I recently made a switch to use more quick heals after I maxxed my AAs at 110 and haven't regretted the switch.

Thank you for all the replies. I spent the rest of my plat and snagged a few pieces. Switched to 1h+shield. And I'm now able to tank ToV T1 nameds. I have close to 6k AC now with group buffs.

AA will help Aswell. But I personally run Dex augs on my sk
