Well, I finally did it. No matter how intimidating the mq2autoloot plugin was, I’ve now got everything switched over and working. This includes my filters, settings etc.
Previously, I had been using ninjaadvloot which is part of the KA macro, along with the EQ advloot filters. I used this because it was super simple. I had meticulously been adjusting my loot filters for so long, and ninja did the rest for me (looted no drop items and items not in my filters.) Unfortunately, I think there is now a problem with ninjaadvloot where it’s not looting everything that isn’t already marked on your filters, so perfect time to switch!
PS I might be the only one still using ninjaadvloot or the eq advloot filters. If I am, please ignore.
Ok, I’m going to go through step by step what I did to get everything working.
**I run my characters on two separate computers. My solution to this is to keep everything updated on the computer with my main, and occasionally copy over the loot ini filters to my other computer.
****Special thanks to @plure for writing a bad ass plugin!

Ok, I’m going to go through step by step what I did to get everything working.
- Load the mq2autoloot plugin for all your characters
- For me the plugin automatically transcribed my eq advloot filters into a new loot.ini in the macro folder, so you don’t need to do any work moving old filters over.
- Go over to where your eq advloot filters are and create/copy a set of new filters. Just copy your main characters filters, but replace the name with something random. Do this for need/greed/never etc
- Go into the new filters that you’ve created and delete everything except the very top line.
- Go into eq on all your characters and open the advloot window. Now, go under filters and select replace loot filters. You’re going to replace all of your filters with the newly created filters, so that all of your eq advloot filters are blank for all your characters. You’re going to do this because it makes running mq2autoloot much easier if you’re not dealing with two sets of filters.
- After you’ve turned your eq advloot filters blank you have to camp out/in for them to go into effect.
- Now go under your new loot.ini and open it up in notepad. Next, use the notepad edit menu to replace all instances of the word Ignore with Destroy. You’re wanting to replace all of the Ignores with Destroy, except for 4 places up at the top in the settings section. You can leave those alone. You’re going to want to change the Ignores to Destroy because it will keep your corpses clean and your camp less conspicuous.
- Now go to the settings section at the top of your loot.ini. Under Nodropdefault you want to change this to keep, so you don’t leave any new items behind that you’ve never seen.
- I went ahead and changed newitemdelay to 90 because I didn’t want any of my toons accidentally looting new gear when I’m manually playing. I also changed cursordelay to 60 because I’m not used to any plugin autoinventoring stuff on my cursor but it’s a personal preference.
- Now just make sure you have your main character designated as the ML and autoloot loaded and turned on for all your characters and you’re good to go!
- There are many cool features and settings that you can play around with, but I think that following this guide will get you to about the same functionality that ninjaadvloot and the eq advloot filters provided.
