Question - stopping bard songs

Hey super helpful community.

So quick question I want to shut off all songs and I have tried the following to get bard to just shut the hell up on raids..... but to no avail any thoughts?


/melody
/stop
/twiston off
/twistwhat

/shutthefrigupbard



any thoughts on how I can suspend songs

any help or direction would be very much appreciated.....

well I was a bit too early

/twistoff does not work gives an unknown command

any thoughts?

/twist on or /twist off, but don't use /twist on.

make sure mq2twist is loaded.... or you will get unknown command

ok now this is getting interesting

I did the load of mq2twist with /plugin mq2twist

got the loaded message
issued: /twist off

got the message mq2twist stopping but the twist continues and until I do a /melody 99 or click off each song from the effects window they do not stop.

I was hoping to hit a button , stop songs and sit down waiting for the raid mob pull

this is not turning out to be easy

Depending on when you issue the /twist off and what the mq2twist plugin is twisting, sometimes the plugin will continue twisting. We have found this to be annoying issue and one of the reasons why bards get hung casting sometimes. Normally just issuing a second /twist off works.

hey CTaylor, yeah am having that issue and it is causing my move invisd via the bard to fail and get me killed.

Hence my suggested macro, that works each time, just takes 9 seconds to clear the existing songs with the melody 99 and to cast the invis song, and then it is good to go.

I found doing /melody 5 had the bard becoming uninvisd when he recast hence the /cast 5

this combined with the /bcga //mqpause on and you can move without impact it appears.....

i use /twist stop or sit or invis/fade a few times and it stops songs unless you use /twist start then it wont stop unless you /twist stop again

I know this is thread is about a month and a half old now, but it looks like there was no definite easy fix for you. ctaylor22 eluded to a similar answer.

Make a hotkey that does:

/pause 2, /stop
/pause 2, /twist end
/twist end
