Still another 50/50 aug

This is straight from EQDiva, so I'm not taking credit for it. Pre-patch this quest was busted; but it might be working now. It's something we can keep an eye on. If someone has already posted this - my apologies, as I didn't see it.

In Sunderock Springs, talk to Anaglass for a quest that involves killing 30 drakes.

All of the drakes can be charmed with vampire, the elementals can't. Many are casters though, so charm will get dispelled, that's the down part, but there are things you can do to keep it from happening too much.

Some of the best parts of it are that it's an outdoor zone, so selo's is your friend again. The drakes don't hit hard at all, couple hundred or so. At 72, they were conning light and dark blue, so it's right on the border. The exp wasn't fantastic, but I wanted the aug, and the vendor loot is very good. I've been finding a lot of good kite camps in between groups, but this one really struck me as a great spot for an old time swarming feel.

I was under the impression this AUG was from the second quest given by Anaglass? Involving Balloondabloop. Believe it was called The Sulfur Springs or something close.

As per Allah Sulfur Springs is the second quest given that does involve killing Balloondabloop

"Anaglass may be found in a hot spring in the center of a plateau, at -2115, -750. This task unlocks after you have completed The Sunderock Geyser."

I didn't get it from the first quest. Still need to kill more buds for the second one, so I don't know for sure if that gives it either.

I've read on another forum that the first quest no longer gives the reward. It may be bugged or nerfed.

Gotta finish 3 full quests, then a 4th quest takes you to Direwind to hail Anaglass' mate where you're given 3 reward choices, this aug is one of them

Anyone been able to get past the second quest solo? It looks easy but you have to use the tear in an area that's surrounded by several hard pipe hitting lvl 73+ see invis mobs and wait for a quest npc to spawn.

The two quest mobs that you have to kill in the progression, Baloondaboop and Lord Steam Roil <or something like that> both drop 3 items...so 3 people can be doing the quest together. Both Baloondabloop and Lord Steam Roil repop 20 to 30 mins after dying...so even if you're doing a full group...its no big deal. I was just really disappointed that after killing Baloondabloop (hardest part for me, I 4box, and don't have a chanter, and it craps out adds every 30 secs or so) and 100 mobs or so total...the rewards were crap for level 75. I wouldn't mind having the 50/50 aug on my casters...but I didn't know 3 people could do it at the time, and only did it on my warrior
