Got a new tank? Need to get him ready to not suck? This guide is for you!

In this guide we will go over 3 things most tanks may or may not ever consider but are crucial!

As a tank we need to avoid damage, generate hate and if we get hit, absorb the damage. Here are 3 things ANY tank at 85+ can get super easy!

Thing 1 Hate Generator!
Go see Gilbot in Brell's Rest
Buy a Mkrarrg's Striking Stone from him for 150 Silver Tokens

you can either do the Event Brell's Arena - Boomerang Brawl! search RG there is a mac for it or what I do is go to the Loyalty Vendor in pok and buy 1 bag of 200 Silver Tokens for 50 Loyalty

Thing 2 Avoidance!
LDoN Missions gets you Icy Prism of Avoidance for 760 Adventure Points.
Pretty simple at 85+ get 2 other toons and get any LDoN mission and run it, get points, buy the aug....

The only one I know of that is better is the 10% one from PoWar - Stone of Judgement from the Judicator but requires getting flagged for War

Thing 3 5% Defense Bonus!
This one is listed last as it SUX to get. The Tears of Alaris one of the stupidest things to try to level EVER! But I have a way that works for me.... Takes me about 2-3 weeks of non-stop killin!
put a group in any alaris zone, pick 1 toon that will be the maxing one, the others are regular ones. Get 1 Fragment of Legendary Alaran History
randomly off Alaran Mobs. Make sure to click it to give you a Very Small Stone Tear . That is the easy part! Now kill about 100,000 Alaran to level this bastard up! MAKE SURE you give all the extra Fragments to your tank, by the time you get your Tear to 16 or 17 (of 20 levels) you should have over 100 Fragments, never use Fragments at lower levels of Tear! When you hit 16 or so use all 100 and your Tear will finalize... click it and it becomes an Aug!


Now your tank has all the goodies to get out there and get the AC and or AGi or Dex augs they need to keep Vertical in a fight!

BONUS if you have a DPS that keeps pulling AGRO the same vendor that sells the AGRO Stone sells a negative (soothing) stone that will give your caster a huge drop in AGRO that can proc on every cast!

What I do is find a kill XX # of whatever ldon and zone my team in, run my 105 to the back and drag the whole zone to the front, then kill them all in glorious fashion! Done!

How hard/time consuming would it be to flag 5 or 6 toons for the PoWar areas where the +10% aug drops? And is that shit doable by a SK tank, single cleric healer, and some melee dps? aka a single group in TDS and a smattering of TBM gear.

The Tears of Alaris sucks so bad to level up. At times I will randomly search to see if anyone has come up with a decent strat or macro to run the missions for fragments. Best I can find is "kill 100000000 Alarans".

yes, however I have 2 spots I kill at that will also get me goodies I want! Chelsith Reborn and Evantil both have places to kill alarans that will give you BEFOULED SILK! Something I need to farm ANYWAY!

I have done PoWar with 1 well done group but they need to be DRESSED the adjudicator is no joke!

SK, Cleric, Chanter, Wiz, Wiz, Wiz
Cleric, Wiz, Wiz, Wiz, Wiz, Bard
Cleric, Wiz, Beast, Zerker, Wiz, Bard

This usually gets me whatever I want there.....

SO the COOLEST thing is to have BOTH, 1 on tank 1 on DPS so while one keeps raising agro the other lowers it so that the tank has an easier time! As does the cleric who only has to heal the tank!

Another agro aug is the Deep Crust Fire Geode (evil) or Deep Crust Fire Geode [Norrath's Keepers] (good) from DON. If you are heroic and can find someone that will sell the correct faction crystals you are set. otherwise it is farming up the 285 crystals. At one time you were able to get both good and evil but I do not know if that is still the case.

While you're in there, make sure to do a /who npc named. I'm regularly finding 25-30k tribute items on these named mobs.

Everyone in group receives credit even if they do not zone in. I'm running them on my monk while the rest of my crew sits in Dead Hills getting LDoN credits.

Likely when they decide not enough players were paying.... FTP is not exactly free. I honestly think I invest more money for FTP then if I just paid for my accounts.

Are there any macros to do the LDoN missions out there?

I've been trying to max out the LDoN aug and looked for a mac on this a while back. Each camp has so many dungeons, I'd just really doubt this ever happening. I've taken to recording my path so that I just run it once and then the next time I can just /mac mybot and it'll retrace the path I recorded killing every mob along the way. Still tedious as once it's done, I have to zone it out myself, get another mission and then get it back in. Also, where it took me @5 minutes to do a mission myself, it takes the bot @15 minutes. A lot of my paths though have been recorded using my warrior, so he was getting agro a lot and that kinda messes up the recording, although it works. New ones I do, I'm going to record using my rogue.
