Hey!

So this only seems to happen on my tank, after a while of going his spell gems will permanently bug out and go inactive (as if stuck on GCD) until I manually come and fix it. I know that there is a way to fix this using EQMule's KA compile, but is there a way to fix this using Maskoi's? I also know that this may be caused by using items in conjunction with spells so I tried removing any clickies I had going (only had my Veiled BP) but it still ended up happening, albeit took more time to happen. I haven't been able to sit down and watch exactly what's making this happen but I'll try now. As well, I have my other toons set up to cast spells while using clickies and none of them have bugged out, only my Paladin. I also use MQ2 in conjunction with ISBoxer and this used to only happen to me while I was tabbed out in Chrome or something, but now is happening regardless of whether I'm in the same window or not. Weirdly enough, I was grinding out AAs in Kor'Sha to max and this never really happened but as soon as I moved to Overthere it started happening regularly, probably something to do with the resource usage of all of my clients since OT is much bigger? Not sure, I do know it's an EQ bug though, just wondering if there's anyway in Maskoi's MQ2 to fix this.

Any ideas?

It's an EQ bug.

Hit an AA with a cast time (in other words, not an insta-cast AA) and duck out of it. It'll unfreeze your spells.

Aye, I do know how to fix it manually but I was wondering if there was any way to set up KA to fix it since it happens so frequently?

Edit:
So, I've toyed with the settings of my boxes to lower CPU usage and have hard restarted everything and it hasn't happened yet even with the Veiled BP in rotation. Will see how it goes as it keeps going. Still looking for a fix if one exists for Maskoi's KA.

Is there a TLO for cast.ready or something like that? Find something that you can check whether its ready or not to cast, and if it's not ready to cast for some time duration maybe execute a clicky AA? Not sure.

Have you tried setting the spell gem stuck option I see in my kiss ini. I know that was once because of muleassist but I believe it's in both now? Someone else may correct me.

It doesn't seem like I have that option, here's my full INI:

Tell me if I happened to miss it, I've never used EQMule's KA compile only Maskoi's so I am not entirely certain Maskoi has built it in quite yet.

I assume you have a 115 bard in your group. Quick Time is what is causing this to happen. It now reduces cast times to 0.5 so a lot of spells for hybrid type classes become instant cast, thus causing this issue. This will have to be bug fixed but if you run an SK, you can cast your IVU mid fight to clear things up, BST can FD, Ranger can cast entropy of nature, etc. Really frigging annoying and has been bug reported in EQ. Probably never get fixed lol.

I do indeed have a Bard though not 115 (18/19 ranks) and it is set up to use Quick Time on cooldown (which would explain why it happens after a determinant amount of time). Imma try just removing Quick Time and see what goes on. Thanks for this tip! Had no idea Quick Time did this

No problem at all. Hopefully the devs (EQ) fix it soon. /laff

When the gems are greyed out has anyone tried to see what ${Me.Casting.ID} returns or even ${Me.SpellInCooldown} or even just the fun of it try ${Me.BardSongPlaying}. I know the character is not a bard, just wondering what it returns.

it hasn't happened to me in a long time, but iirc, ${Me.Casting.ID} returned a non-zero value. I didn't try SpellInCooldown nor BardSongPlaying.

just had it happen to my bst, it shows a spell that was casting with me.casting and the id with me.casting.id - me.bardsongplayer returns false

it appears to occur around using an AA immediately after a spell is done casting

Well if ${Me.Casting.ID} returns a value, while ${Window[CastingWindow].Open} is false, that is impossible on a normal caster. Only bards can pull that off. So would be easy to test if ${Me.Casting.ID} && !${Window[CastingWindow].Open} then you need to do something like /stopcast. Has anyone tried to use /stopcast to see what happens?

yeah stopcast won't do anything - but using certain (not all) aa abilities will unstick it

But not every character will have an AA that can be used, just trying to figure a generic way to get the caster back on track.. if you click the spell gem bar like you can a bards, does that do anything? There has to be a way to get the EQClient to reset the spell gems, like will it let you mem a spell to a gem?

Zoning or logging to char select works. Not exactly the answer you're looking for, I know.

Which class doesn't have an activated AA ability?

Hell, click origin and then duck out. Your spells will unlock.

Can I get someone to see what is returned for this /echo ${Me.SpellReady[1]} ${Me.SpellReady[2]} ${Me.SpellReady[3]} when your spell gems are locked up. Trying to add in some checks and need to know what is being returned by normal casters when gems are locked up.

Good idea on origin. I will have to try it. My cleric was stuck last night and I gave up messing around with aa and just camped. I also turned off quick time on my bard.

Anyone been seeing things like epic and BP clickies not working? Keeps happening on my SK.

Happened at exactly the same time on my cleric and my bst lol both giving same results - coincidentally it shows their first spell for casting and casting.id (but i think this is just due to the order things are happening in) it goes from using an aa to casting a spell and that's where the lockout up happens

/echo ${Me.SpellReady[1]} ${Me.SpellReady[2]} ${Me.SpellReady[3]} all show True
Me.Casting.ID shows an id
Me.Casting shows one of my spell names
{Window[CastingWindow].Open} is false

For cleric, use yaulp AA

@Sic Damn, not what I wanted to hear... For a bard that would of returned False False False.. So the client actually doesn't see or check that the Gems are greyed out.. As far as the client is concerned everything is copesetic and ready to cast.. Ok will have to think about that, but I do have a fix in place using the Me.Casting.ID and !${Window[CastingWindow].Open} because if your NOT a bard that should be imposible.

an instacast AA did not clear it but a long casting AA did. As soon as the AA finished my toon opened his spellbook an started meming spells.
