Progression Server Simming?

Guild hall/ house or test server on a dummy but still requires having the different options for configuration.

You can run all the guild hall numbers you want. And the folks who swear by parsing will attest to their accuracy. But boards don't hit back. Out in the wild anything can and does happen and it's next to impossible to get a real true reading. Others will dispute this. They hit the boards that don't hit back.

That is basically what I did. I am not smart enough when it comes to all of this to know how to do it properly. IE how long to parse different set ups, which buffs to have or not have etc..

Huh?

What classes and what exactly are you trying to test?

He's saying parsing on dummies is not 100% accurate
But, no parsing is 100% accurate unless you are parsing against the exact scenario

Parsing -vs- dummies on test server or guild hall is the highest accuracy we can get so do it anyhow.
There’s one caveat at upper levels and that’s you can exceed the max damage that can be dealt so you get skewed parses on guild hall dummy. Think test server dummies don’t suffer this.

This is a science and an art.

Issues with guild hall dummies are that aDPS buffs don't fade in the guild hall, so effects that were meant to give you 60 second boost once every 20 minutes end up running full time. Secondly, tweaking the dummy's AC is a pain in the hand/mouse. The UI to change the dummy's level and AC is primitive. It can take an hour to manually adjust the AC on a dummy high enough to match level 125 raid content, and exactly what that value is, is disputed.

Is there a script that will adjust the combat dummy settings, saving my mouse and avoiding carpal tunnel syndrome?

Do any of the parsing tools out there help make an educated guess about a raid boss's AC/avoidance? Is there a TLO or mq method for extracting stats off spawns?

There isn’t a way to extract exact stats. You won’t get true dps numbers. What test dummies allow you to do is to compare x vs y. You can handle the adps by clicking off but this is also one advantage of test dummies is if I remember correctly buffs/songs tick down.

Are there specific class/level/group makeups you are trying to understand because a lot of data already exists without having to recreate the wheel so to speak

Short version is on TLP, and trying to determine is pure damage augs are better or worse than damage + proc augs. Current expansion is HoT. Class is Beastlord primarily and bard to a lesser extent.

What are the augs in question, if I remember correctly most raw damage augs out perform equivalent tier hybrid augs. My recommendation would be to join respective class discords there’s a lot of information for live and tlp available and people in there that could answer niche examples or have already done the parse typically.

If you wanted to test yourself I’d recommend hr long parses, the shorter the parse the more variance can show up, the longer you run the closer to true average you’ll get
