Hi all, sorry if my english is poor i'm french

I'm back on eq since december and actually using mq2 with KA with 6 toons at a time
my first group is lvl 70 : SHD, CLR, ENC, WIZ, MNK and SHM
my second group is lvl 66 : PAL, CLR, BRD, NEC, ROG and DRU

i'm hesitating between ROG and MNK for Puller and melee DPS and between ENC and BRD for buffs and CC, what is the best for you ? i never played those classes before

I'm using KA, my group is fine, i need to manage Pull but i don't understand how to do it well (for the monk).

I tried Xgen too and i don't know how to use it and how it can replace KA.

Thanks, a porr old french man

Welcome back to the fold (the MQ2/RG Teat 😜 )!
I imagine the opinions will vary here. But for the classes you disclosed. I would do MNK for puller (ROG great for DPS, I have never tried as an exclusive puller) and BRD for CC (unless you feel you will be going in more mob rich environments frequently, BRD seems to be more versatile, and does great for smaller CC, I think the ENC is better should you be doing/needing heavier CC). Have fun and again welcome back!

Welcome back!

A little piece of advice from the all-knowing, the wise, Sic stated to me many moons ago - Driver Tank, also your puller/chase mode. Either Bard or ENC as CC. Both are effective, with ENC pulling ahead in the lockdown department. Additionally, 2 healers are sort of overkill. You can get by with one, but SHM can struggle to 100ish when they start to shine.

I am in the process of levelling a team with a bard, but have levelled with an enchanter. The enchanter was in both melee and caster teams as I played with dps set ups. It was very easy with KA ini's and I ended up just pulling with my tank because of how effective the enchanter was.

I imagine bard wouldn't be a whole lot different. So far when he crowd controls he obviously isn't twisting and doing much damage but the ADPS he offers, especially to melee characters has been great.

So far I feel the enchanter was easiest, but maybe not the most optimal in a melee group.

As for Rog and Monk, this is a matter of preference. I went for rogues and zerkers but i know some guys who really enjoy monks instead.

As Liquidtoots has stated, opinions will vary here. I mained a monk on my first stint with EQ and still love them although I don't play him much. Both bard and monk are viable pullers but personally now, I use SK to pull. I am not sure what a druid brings to the table other than taxi service. For my melee groups, I 100% use a Bard for CC/Utilities and I think it works out great. Sic's ini has yet to disappoint me for my bards. If you can suffer through the lower levels of your shaman, I would replace the cleric with another dps. You can always have the cleric with you for outside heals if needed. Necro is another class that I played a good amount of time on and still enjoy playing solo. I tried to incorporate my 2 into groups and feel they just fall short on group content as fights go quickly while they are revving up their dots. In the end, play what's fun to you. lastly, CWTN plugins!!!!!!!

My two redcents...MQ2War, MQ2Pal, or MQ2Eskay for tank...MQ2Cleric for healing...and MQ2Enchanter for adds/buffs....

The rest is up to you and ok to run however you want.

There is something to be said about just log in...point...and click and having the pulling, healing, and crowd control done without edits

IMHO, I think the Shaman does a better job healing than the Cleric and they do a good job with DPS between heals where the Cleric doesn't unless you are killing undead. My group makeup is:
SK, SHM, MAG, ROG, NEC, and ZERKER

Bonjour Mon Ami!

I would say the SK does fine both pulling and tanking, esp if you get comfortable with pet pulling :) (usually eats the first debuff from an NPC/named)... As for melee dps, both ROG/MONK are strong options, I prefer MONK given the Master's Aura they provide the group/tank.

I had taken a long break, came back and EQ alone had a lot of changes, the walk throughs are nice, not everything is answered, but it's enough to be dangerous LOL... that said, I definitely found that learning and refining the INI taught me the most; experiment here, ask a question here, apply it there, seemed to teach me the most about it... I really enjoyed the older INI websites that walked me through (though I believe some are out of date or whatnot... they still were a really great place to learn a basic knowledge)

KISSASSIST

Still one of my favorites for learning and quick reference, if there's better, I am unaware... another one I liked for / macro commands was

MQ2MOVEUTILS

Just a couple nuggets that help me sort it out... and then again, asking questions of the community here @ RG has been HUGE!

Good Luck and Welcome Back!
