I didn't realize they removed the 30m recast timer from the Fabled Ball of Golem Clay until last night while I was playing around with the new Illusion Key Ring. But they did, nice bonus there.
However, the 6 second cast time can be a substantial nuisance if trying to activate mid-combat. I found that if you put the FBoGC in your "Illusion Benefit" slot in your keyring, if you use an instant cast clicky (Amulet of Necropotence or the like), you get an instant cast version of the Earth Elemental's Form with the snare proc and 5% mitigation buff intact. While the 5% mitigation isn't incredibly useful if you box a cleric for shining or are using a cleric merc that keeps vie on you, it's nice when soloing or for classes that don't get better/easier access to mitigation buffs. There's also no cap on the damage absorbed from the 5% as well. I like having it up now just as a filler between procs of Brace for Impact, Shining, et cetera. Having an extra proc buff for some passive hate generation is always a welcome thing as well.
You can even use a holyshit to make sure that you always have the buff active in combat.
I use the removebuff to take off illusion buff as I prefer displaying the magnificence that is the gnome form. You can swap in whatever illusion item you prefer to use, though I recommend using something that is instant cast for a combat buff. You can also remove the multiline and timed removebuff if you don't mind fighting as a skeleton and such.

Rich (BB code):
