Question/Request EQ2 Style Tracking

I'm curious. Would it be possible to make a plugin like MQ2 track that works similarly to the tracking by a scout class in EQ2? What I mean is could we make it such that you can bring up a list of mobs, but when you click on track it draws a ribbon to the mob that you can follow? I'm speaking of the same gold ribbon that you get when you use the /find feature in game. To add more functionality, you could add a command /makepath to draw a path to your current target so you don't have to pick a mob off of the list.

Any thoughts?

im not sure if this would work, but it does for me. if you do /target NPCname, then do /mac follow, and it will run you to the mob. dunno if the yellow ribbon is needed if you do this.

also /mapfilter target, then /mapfilter targetline
I know it is not what you are looking for really, just another way it can be done via the map if you can not create the ribbon
