Hello all!

I've been on the Riz server, and haven't really had any issues up till the past few days with KISS. My issues are, i'll log hit my /mac kissassist key, group starts buffing and rolling out no issues. About 2 hours-ish in my group will just stop rebuffing my tank, and even themselves at some point. Its odd, because on live i've never had this issue. I also, just updated this morning 6/5, so not sure if that's something to do with it?

What i've done: Went through my ini's made sure everything is in order. Restarted Kiss in game multiple times with no success. Randomly watched it start rebuffing out of nowhere (which obviously I didn't do anything for that).

Any suggestions?

Thanks all! Happy Friday!

IDs are in spell names? Or as in where/who they're designated to?

I'm no expert on KISS but I think every character periodically updates a file called KissAssist_Buffs.ini which normally resides in your Macros folder. I believe each character updates that file every xx seconds where xx is the number in your CheckBuffsTimer=xx line in the Buffs section of your character INI file. (Mine is set to 25 seconds and seems to work fine there!)

If any computer process interferes with writing to that file then the Kiss macro has no way of determining if a character needs to be buffed. So first thing would be to delete that file and let the macro recreate it, perhaps it's corrupted?

Next you'd check things which might have an impact on disk writing. For example ensure you've excluded your entire MQ2 folder from virus scans. Do a chkdsk on the drive. Make sure the drive isn't nearly full. Check task manager when things go wonky and see if some other Windows process is hogging the hard drive. Check the event viewer and look for disk errors. Since that file is key I'd start troubleshooting with disk writing issues.

If you have DanNetOn turned on then kiss does NOT use the kissassist_buffs.ini file but it uses MQ2DanNet to check for buffs. If the characters are buffing themselves and not others then it is the ini file having issues. If the characters stop buffing even themselves then there is something else going on. I would try getting a debug log of this when it is happening.

Hey all, sorry for the delay. @big these are fresh ini files. I will go through the steps you were discussing either tomorrow or monday. Weekends are more challenging to play.

@ctaylor22 I've not been using Dannet at all. I do have eqbc=1 on just tried that through a recommendation. The characters continue to buff d everyone but just my tank. When I fire it up, they buff no issues, it's always about two hours in things get funky, and stop buffing him.

I have a similar issue, my enchanter will only buff clarity on the MA, wont buff the rest of the group. I changed the ini multiple times to try and make it work, just doesn't happen.

ak what does you buff line look like. What level are you and is the spell on you spell bar or just set up in the buff section to be added to the spell gem list when down time (or buff time)?

Have you tried to just have clarity cast on just one or two characters like you have for Alacrity on your MA? Try Buffs2=Clarity|caster and see if any casters in your group are buffed.

Also you might have some how turned off your rebuffon toggle. /rebuffon toggles buff watching on or off so you could also try /rebuffon to try to see if it toggles back and forth.

/rebuffon

Toggles buff watching on/off

I tried it all, with the Caster tag, with the individual class tags, none of it worked. rebuffon is toggled on as well. I just do it manually cause nothing else works

Post your ini and let us take a look.

Sorry about the delay, the weekends are horrible for my playtime. This is the ini from my enchanter, this is one of the 4 that randomly stop rebuffing. My Paladin isn't running KA, I manually play him.

OK. Debug Log Time. Get me a debug Log and PM the log to me. It looks like the caster still has the buff or the kissassist_buffs.ini file is not getting updated. From one of the characters that does not have the buff and should be getting buffed. Do this: /echo ${Me.ID} record their ID. Now go edit the kissassist_buffs.ini file and look for the section with their [ID]. You are looking for what is in the Buffs= entry.

Well the only thing I see that might be a problem is in your spell section. the line LoadSpellSet=0 . As I understand it the 0 has the spells loading turned off so it might be that you may have changed the order of your spell line-up and KA is trying to cast a different spell in place of clarity. This is just my thinking on it so I will leave it in the hands of ctaylor22 (much much smarter in these matters than me. I am just a ID10T guy)

P.S. I use loadspellset=2 and have a section called MYSPELLS and use gems#=spell in the spell gem. I don't know if this matters but so far I have not had any issues with my team buffing. (of course they still be babies yet)

Just an update. It looks like he had a character that wasn't running kissassist. Suggested to run kissassist in manual mode on that character.

Is there a way to force KA to NOT use that log file, and only used EQBC, or Netbots? Also, any idea why my buffers tend to manually target my group members? It looks as if they're trying to manually check for rebuffing or something? (I physically watch them cycle through targeting the group).

If you use mq2dannet it doesn't need to use the buffs.ini file as far as I know - you just load the plugin and set the ini to use dannet on the characters running kissassist, the macro will do the rest

@ThatOtherGuy If you are trying to cast a single target buff it will target the character and if it sees the character has the buff it will move on. So you will see it cycle through your characters. Now there could be an issue with the duration being returned by the spell and buff routine is checking if the buff has worn off like it should.

How do you tell it to use DanNet? I don't see an option or config for that. It only has `EQBCOn=0`?

Hi If you are using the KA_CharName.ini DanNet should be here:

EQBCOn=0
DanNetOn=0
DanNetDelay=20

IRCOn=0

right under EQBC ... Just remember that if you set both to 1 then EQBC will take precedence over DanNet. So either turn on one or the other.

that won't load the dannet plugin if they're not already loading it.

I too notice this issue. I run MQ2Monk, and the rest all run KA. I have noticed that with KA, or MA (muleassist) there are times when my guys stop buffing and nuking, mezzing, etcetera all together! It is driving me crazy. Could this be the reason? If so, would switching from EQBC to dannet fix the issue? I really like MQ2monk, and want to continue using it in combination with KA on the my other guys.

chat wrote the mq2kissbuffs to make his plugins share buffs with the toons running kiss, but the kiss team has moved to dannet, you can run mq2kissbuffs, or dannet (and that is likely a better options). we do not recommend running kissassist in mode 0 just so they will buff you since there are other alternatives which are less hassle

re: your other toons stopping buffing nuking, mezzing etc - that has nothing to do with mq2monk.

Thank you for the fast response. I am in the process of learning about dannet so i can make the switch.
