This may already be widely known and I am just a dummy, but I just discovered this on accident for myself so I will share it just in case someone else didn't get the memo and can save some time.
For the quest Overstayed Their Welcome given by Melandi Sturdyboot in Candlemaker's Workshop you can pre-loot all of the items.
The quest updates say:
Collect an Ignistone Brace 0/1
Collect a Tethercoil Nexus 0/1
Collect a Thaumic Lens 0/1
Collect an Embergleam Core 0/1
Collect a Moonlace Cogwheel 0/1
Turn in Ignistone Brace 0/1
Turn in Tethercoil Nexus 0/1
Turn in Thaumic Lens 0/1
Turn in Embergleam Core 0/1
Turn in Moonlace Cogwheel 0/1
If you have already collected them on a toon you can just turn them in and both the "collect" part and the "turn in" part will get updated.
