What I would like my shd to do: Pull with longest possible range, to avoid dieing on mobs root.
What I get: mostly shd runs into meeling range knocking mob wiht his 1h-weapon, and thansometimes he dies because he dies on the way bac to camp.

Is: "PullMeleeStick=0" not the order to not pull with the meele-stick?

What I tried:

My observation:
as long as the mobs are in LOS when shd starts to pull, he will use long range ability, like defined with parameter "Pullwith"
If the mob in target is not within LOS at start or atleast right after the next pull starts, the likehood that the shd will run into meele-range rises ... the longer it takes to get mob into LOS the greater the likehoot, that "Pullwith" is ignored for the pull.

Can I provide anything to narrow down the case?
 
That's the pull algorithm in KA. When you are running up to a mob it will periodically check if it can pull, but the reality there is a trade off between checking too often and not checking enough. Round corners, for example, you will end up at the mob's feet as soon as you have LOS anyway. In other cases the conditions of being in LOS and being in range might not get met until you are in body-pull range.

The reality is that a ton of mobs have root/snare in ToV and so getting stuck and killed is more-or-less inevitable eventually, unless you can sacrifice a pet (which you might do on a named).

Some people put conditions in to use a bandolier with a shield for pulling if they're undergeared. I just use shield at all times anyway, because the difference is negligible compared to the DPS output of the rest fo the group anyway. Also I'm lazy.

Also, why aren't you using the Terror line? It's reasonably long range (200+) and doesn't suffer from the negative aggro modifiers other methods do, so you get good aggro too.

Finally, look at the sticky when it comes to creating a debug log and try to capture a log of when the pull happens in the way you don't like (hopefully not resulting in a death). That way it should capture the specific case as to why you body pulled and didn't use the PullWith.
 
Thank you ... that describes what I thought would be the case. I understand that while pulling yo dont want to stop any second step, if now it would be possible to use a range attack. I am using the shield, but sometimes the root lasts too long to survive. Allover not a big issue. I love kissassist as it is. Thanks to all participating in the developement of it.
 
In places where you can get rooted, start pulling with your pet. Pet pulling only requires you be in range and NOT LOS. So you will pull mobs from around corners using a pet. The pet will get rooted and die, but casting a new pet is much easier than getting rezed.
