Problem - puller mode - druid set to use snare - targets mob - logs attacking but never pulls

my druid is my puller and i start him in puller mode. He pulls just fine in most instances but sometimes when mob is close he faces and targets mob but never casts. the console says attacking.

The workaround is to set camp far enough away but this is not always possible when in rooms / caves etc

melee is off
camp / pull ranges don't matter.

Hmmm. Looking at the code and your settings you should be pulling the mob, unless the mob is not LOS. The next step is getting me a debug log. Go here for instructions: https://www.redguides.com/community/threads/38744-How-Do-I-create-a-Debug-Log-for-KissAssist

KissAssist should be adjusting your pull range for the spell pull to 85% of the max distance of the spell you are using,

Since Serpent Vines is static 200 range distance, it should be setting your maximum pull range to 200 divided by 1.11 ... so it would mean your max pull range is adjusted to 180.1

Within Sub SetPullRange

This calls the PullVars sub passing along the parmterrs of: 180.1 "Serpent Vines" 200

Subsequently setting what pull range KA will use to determine if it needs to move you within range of the target, and what to pull with.. and actual pull distance.

Just as a test... can you increase your value of [Pull] to be actual range X 1.11 to counteract the reduction.
MaxRadius=200 woulde become MaxRadius=222.

Also what is the "cast range" that the MQ2Chat window is stating it is set to when each pull occures....

Just test that value for my curiosity., abd definately check if the target is in Line of Sight (LOS). If you have a good HUD, you should see if your target is LoS.

Sometimes the stupidest thing can return LoS false... like a small rock between you and the target.. or the thinnest .. most sorry looking scrawny tree.
("But i can see the dang mob behind the tree").. yeah... but EQ thinks you can't.. .. that scrawny tree is a huge oak as far the program is concerned....lol

So one random thing here. You mention if mobs are close that this is occurs. I also note you have set "AssistAt=100". Are the mobs so close that the tank is targeting them? I could see that possibly confusing things. Ever try setting that to 99? Especially with the console saying attacking I think this could be the case.

So basically it happens when mob is out of default melee range .. enough to where my MA wont run out and engage and also far enough not to get aggro.

I have .. before I posted .. confirmed when my puller targets mob but doesn't pull mob I am able to manually click on serpent vines and it pulls with no problem.

dreamflux, you hit the nail on the head.

Assist at 100, would cause him to attempt to assist the MA attack it before the mob is even pulled... there are conditions where the MA may not have agro on it because the mob is not in the MA's melee range.. thus having a non pulled mob, out of range for the MA to attack.. and preventing the puller from doing anything....

Set the assist at to 98 to be safe ... since Serpent Vines does not cause damage... you will be sure that the druid pulls the mob into MA attack range.. and he will assist pretty soon after the MA begins attacking it down to 98%.

Set Assist at to 98 please and in the same spot you were having issues with, almost certain the assist at value conflict is the culprit... leave your pull range at 200 as you had before.

I will try this again to validate but Im certain I moved the default assistat=95 to 100 as one of my troubleshooting efforts.

If the mobs never show up on the Xtarget window it won't matter what your assist at % is, the MA will never attack it and you will never have anything to target let alone attack. This may require a debug log to figure out, I posted a link above to a thread on how to create one.

Thanks still yet to get the debug. I saw this issue again last night but I was just about to log when it happened and was too tired to wait for it to happen again.

Druid was looking for a target every 5 secs. MOB popped and the Druid MQ targeted mob and the MQ console reported - Attacking "a Drovlarg Peckerhead"
Mob was just out of aggro and also in LOS. The reason this sucks is he is stuck until more mobs pop and I get social aggro and more mobs than I safely want to handle at once.

Again debug is coming thank you for your patience. Im gonna try tonight

No Problem. I use a monk as my puller and I have mobs that spawn close enough to camp the puller never has to move, she just turns and throws at the mob and then waits for the Tank to pick up the mob and then my puller will attack.

Just wondering, you don't have your puller setup as your MA do you? Cause if you do you need to change that around. If you set your assistat to 95 and make sure your puller is targeting your tank when you start KA, that might help some.
