Bug - Pub Crawl POK Port Clicky from 16th Anniversary

You don't need take the boat to Abysmal sea. Go guild lobby magus, she teleport u to Natimbi then A erudite magus at Natimbi will port to AS.

Wiz port to Natimbi you land at the boat ramp? that was way faster for me....
 
The only annoying thing about this awesome quest is making fresh MQ2Events .inis (as in MQ2Events_Charname.ini) for all my chars .

As far as I can tell, MQ2Events does not accept a default .ini

I think I will need to write a Python script for this, just go through Everquest directory and parse all the UI_Charname_server.ini files and make a fresh copy of MQ2Events_Charname.ini in the mq directory.

Maybe there is an easier way?

EDIT: Hmm I remember reading http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/24763-MQ2Events to /event load an specific ini and it did not work
 
I can't wait to run this later this week and see how many other MQ users are sitting around instantly replying lol.
 
It was a MADHOUSE tonight, I ran 3 groups of 6 non stop for hours and the place was packed everytime I ported in. No one would even notice what you were doing, some people were just randomly spamming whatever and not even targeting the dude, my guys get in, target, sit and as soon as it pops they use it to port out.... did over 150 toons tonight with it.
 
If I recall correctly from looking for the item it has a 3.5 min recast or something, right?
 
I had to get so drunk to get the dang quest it was making me sick to look at the screen. I was on a wiz and wanted to use it to teleport bind my crew in so off I went. MAN!! Being drunk in game suuuuucks. I fell off the pier three times and slid off the freaking boat once. So thirty minutes and alot of digital bruises later I made it. FYI Brasse likes the Ogre swill but does not warm up to you till you get plastered or have about a fifty in Alcohol Tolerance. Not that i could see.........

This works mostly, about 2/3's of the time, but it is not clean.... spams and or misses the timing. Any way to have the doevents to check/execute only once? I thought the flush would clear that up. If I could check/execute once then I could remove the /delay 5s and rely on Galdiron to prompt the macro forward. Please advise a fix and I will test it. I appreciate any help and the smooth finished product will be made available to all of us.

Anyone interested in how to not have to get so freakin drunk to do this quest? ok, but I better get some redcents outta this!

IF you are over level 55+ AND you have a zero alcohol tolerance, worry not good friend, you will need a few plat but I can fix this!
Go to POK find your GUILDMASTER and right click him, scroll down to Alcohol Tolerance and pay him to give you skill levels, you can get up to 250 in alcohol tolerance from him in about a minute of clicking... for just a few plat....

now buy 5 bottles of bitter brew, drink 2 and the quest is yours without having to get dead drunk! Your welcome!

Buy 5, why ? well sometimes you have to drink the other 3 to have 5 bottles to reset the end quest guy.... to start him "singing"

How do you find your guildmaster? is he in with where I get spells?

NO! use the FIND and you will see your class GUILDMASTER, just click him and follow the path.... he is in an outbuilding on the lower level of POK. Different building for different classes....
 
I don't play on live but your use of large purple letters is fair enough.
 
sometimes typing is bold is yelling, but do it in giant purple and you are somehow cool.... that and I am in a purple mood, just got my Steelseries Merc Stealth keyboard today and it is all lite up purple! Stole it on ebay for $35

it has a plugin for everquest!
 
I feel I deserve some of the redcent generated lol. I really did slip off the boat. Thank you for the information.

Get my crappy macro smoothed out and I will redcent you till the cows come home or ogres or gnomes or something.

What a steel!

I love my G510 but that thing does look sexy. I have never considered a replacement but, hrmmmm. I may have to watch for one.
 
I worked on a customers PC and he had the stealth and the movement buttons on the left hand were insane!
 
poK port stein

Easy quest to do; nice clickie for non-transporter types. It's a 0.5 second cast, once every 30 minutes. Only available while the anniversary quests are going (to next month I think)

THE QUICK AND DIRTY WAY TO GET IT DONE...5 minutes if your fast...YOU MUST INITIATE THE QUEST OR YOU WON'T GET THE STEIN!!!!

1. You MUST get the quest from Brasse...PoK...and you must be level 75 or higher
2. Get good and drunk, you must have alcohol tolerance of 50+; just pick 20 of your favorite alcohol and chug it down
3. Hail Brasse, To get her to give you the quest, give her Ogre Swill, it may take up to x20. The Brewing merchant across from Brasse sells...
4. When you get the quest, head for the Guild Lobby..
5. Speak with Magus Alaria and port to Nedaria's Landing
6. Speak with Magus Wenla and port to the Abysmal Sea
7. Do a find for Galadinus Corkpopper
8. Sit down in front of Galdorian, hail him and wait for him to sing
9. Repeat each line after he sings it with the macros below
10. Enjoy your PoK clickie stein


The hotkeys..enter these as a social; cut and paste into other characters as needed (you'll just need to re-label each key, the macro is already done); makes the task with the singer a breeze

For hotkeys: I just label them 1-6

I got a Razer for cheap a number of years ago, and hate it, honestly. The extra keys just make my edge-of-keyboard physical references harder (such as reaching over to tap esc on upper left - now there are buttons beyond it).

What do you guys actually map to keys that make it worth it? I mean, I could probably come up with 2-3 keys that would be cool, but honestly...are that many buttons actually useful, or just cool to have?

Good ol' standard keyboard with good key references or an ergonomic split keyboard for me.
 
in my case the arrow keys are there with auto attack or ranged/nuke attack I have been using it all day and it has been fantastic!

I will probably move some other keys there, like a mac to use the Stein or something too...
 
Thanks Raz, that was really cool info. I'm a big typer myself, and do so extremely quickly, so a lot of those buttons have normal keyboard shortcuts that I just use instead. It definitely helps me understand standard use cases, though.
 
this is definitely the easiest aniversary mission, with one of t he most useful clickies. even druids and wizards get a nice perk from it.

Oh, and the clicky is almost instant, fast enough to get out of jail free to avoid a death.

With a campfire down wherever you're playing this clicky might as well be an evac spell (albeit with a long recast timer). My next step is looking into how I can force all my boxes to click the stein via a EQBC command sent to the group.

I think its as easy as (syntax is wrong, but this is the idea):

/bcaa //cast "name of the stein"

or

/bct Toonname //cast "name of the stein"

Thanks for correcting my MQ2Cast syntax.

I think I would probably make a hotkey to individually tell my group members to cast it, with the exception of my fade class and my FD class. I think I'd like to tell them to use their get-out-of-jail-free abilities before booting them from zone.

So, the syntax to tell everyone in group to cast is:

/bcg //casting "Drunkard's Stein" (this would cast on everyone in group)
/bcaa //casting "Drunkard's Stein" (this would cast on everyone logged into EQBC server, I believe)

One thing you could do (or "we" could do) is figure out how to make the item cast if you're in the same zone as the person giving the command (or something similar). This avoids having a toon who's dead in the Guild Lobby from clicking his PoK clicky just because you give the command in the EQBC channel.
 
I should probably put this in snippets or macros forums...

This snippet would work for /bct stick cmds, obviously the Drunkard's Stein, anyone in grp with Gate, etc...
I am just beginning to see the potential of this.

We could add a check to see if FD or Fade is up/ready/avail and hardcode that EQBC cmd instead of whatever you put in the command line.

30 level maximum spread for sharing a quest WORKAROUND..............

Who ever has the quest share with someone within thirty levels.....
Make that person the leader........
On the new leader, remove the original Quest holder...........
The current quest holder can share with someone within thirty levels.....


Example;
Tom the marginal Magician, a level 55 (the minimum level required to get the quest) gets the quest
Tom invites Louie the low level Lutist, a level 29
Tom makes Louie the leader
Louie kicks Tom to the curb, remove from shared task, disbands with him then invites Nessie Newbie, LEVEL 12 and adds Her to the quest

Summary
A 55 gets the quest
he/she adds a 29 and makes it the leader
the 29 removes the 55 and adds a level 21
the level 21 CAN get the quest
NOTE I am uncertain what lowest level can receive this quest

Now this seems to be obvious after I figured out how to do it. But I never saw it written up so I wanted to share it.

Also posting the PoKStein.mac here. It was in an earlier response as code not a download. If you have the quest and are standing by the bard, run the mac. It works.

EDIT
I could not share the quest with a level 20 but could share with a level 21 so I believe the quest low level limit is level21.
