Plat from Velium Level 40+

I originally posted most of this in the request section asking for help writing a macro to do this then as i reread it i realized it was a pretty good write up for pp farming too so figured i would copy my own post and add a little here for non macroers. This can be done below level 40 but is just faster and easier if mobs are green to you. First head out to the Great Divide and head due West of the PoK book eventually you will see an extensive cave network. Run through the caves and kill everything. In these caves are the following mobs.

A Tizmak Augers, A Tizmak Champion , A Tizmak Shaman, A Tizmak Spiritcaller, A Tizmak Warrior. These Tizmak's are the only mobs that spawn in these caves with the exception of one or two named that are random spawns from Tizmak's. All of these Tizmak's (yes including the casters) can drop and do drop these abundantly Velium Great Staff, Velium Etched Stone Mace, Velium Hammer. Mobs are all level 25 - 31 and some will run when on low health when they are the last mob standing, but with my lvl 70 toon this has never been a problem as they die quickly. Respawn on these mobs is insanely fast. by the time i have worked my way from the northern end of the caves to the southern end the north has respawned. Now the reason for killing these guys is this...

With a recient patch there is now the ability to turn velium weapons into Small Piece of Velium. These are used in smithing to skill up by making Enchanted Velium Bits (trivial at 222). The greatstaff and the mace will yield one small brick and two small pieces, the hammer yields one small brick and one small piece. The small brick can then be smithed down into two small pieces.

To smith the weapons into bricks and pieces you need a Velium smithy hammer This is sold in thurgadin from Nimren Stonecutter at location 45, -110 for 10p 5g. To smith the small bricks into small pieces you need a Smithing Chisel This is sold in Pok from Tallis Paerk @ 70, 1390, or Szrix Hammertail @ 130, 1375, both in the Western trader building for 2p 6g 2s 4c and in many other city zones for same price.

Now when your bags are all full up with weapons head to Thurgadin. I say thurgadin because it is close and has all the needed things such as bank and forge. Take your bags full of weapons, your smithy hammer and your chisel and head to the forge to smith them down into the small pieces of velium. Like i said these are used in smithing and generally sell for 35 - 70pp each on my server. In little less than an hour i collected 58 weapons resulting in 175 to 200 small pieces of velium. So at 200 pieces selling at 50pp each thats 10k in about an hour of work plus the bazaar time.

EDIT: Original idea for farmin these guys came from the eqtraders forums though they just talk about it so you can get the velium and do smithin skill ups.

These things wern't selling very fast. Could someone help me think of a semi-legit way (not duping or such) to farm some pretty decent cash for a 70 bard with decent gear and a few aas. I'm not trying to be greedy just trying to afford my 65+ songs (20-25k a pop). I've been thinking about farming loots such as fungi or stuff in TT like I used to do back in the day. Even if any of you know any decent solo farming spots, I dont have to get exp and the money doesnt have to be great, but i need some pps for songs. Thanks!

Desert, do you have the expansion that lets you search barter in bazaar? Is that DoN or OOW, I forget....

Using that you have a guaranteed buyer, many people want hundreds of items for tradeskills, its up to you to see effort is worth their set buying price, I always check and its a good way to get rid of old gear clogging up bank space, too.

On my server people sell to barters quickly, there was need for crystaline silks got on right toon and order was already filled by the time I got toon logged on under 3 min

you have the supply .. now you need someone with a demand..

Velium and acrylia sell.. but in spurts..

I have been selling silks lately.. not high end$$ but i get all mine (no trader farming).. make then into swatchor thread and sell at a great price... 10pp each

i have made 10K in 2 day

even the resellers buy my stuff and with in hours i am putting it back up again..

of course i run a trader accoutn 24/7 .. sometimes 2... and i play using my other accounts.. but there is deff ways to make PP out there

you want plat? drop down to lvl 62 to 66(highest 66), go use the afk taskmaster mac i mod'ed, run it for days, you will get tons of aa's, and plat, at 73 plat per mission at 66, and 13% aa per mission, on my connection and rig (dsl, 1 gig ram) i zone in about 10 secs, and can do one task in about 1 minute, the killer time part is the getting the 5 tasks that you'll be doing to show up, sometimes could be first hail, sometimes 10th, with 15 second interval between hails... theorietically, if you were to ddo a taska minute, and be able to start the next task within 30 seconds, that is 73 plat * 40 times per hour = 2920 plat * 24 hours = 70080 in a day * 7 days = 490560 plat per week if you were able to have optimal specs and didn't crash...lol, but the afk taskmaster is not legit, velium pieces and silks can get ya alot of money still, through legit ways. In my opinion, save the velium pieces for the afk coldain xp/faction macro i fixed, and use it to lvl up some new chars to like lvl 25, maybe 30. And use the afk taskmaster for your plat...or be like 40% of the eq world, and go out and get nice drops and sell them (40% is legit, 50% buy from ige, mysupersales, etc., and 10% hack)
