Question - pausing / unpausing a macro

I saw a reference to being able to pause a macro in a stray post. But, of course, now that I am actually interested in doing this I can't find the post.

Is there a command that will pause a macro and then later allow the macro to resume again without simple ending and starting the macro over again?
Better ask what the command is or someone like me will simple reply... Yes, without giving the command, sigh.
What is the command to pause/resume a macro?

Assuming you're using EQBC, I'd also make a key for your group like /bcg //mqp so that it pauses everyone in the group if you need. If you want to pause your specific toons from one toon, you can do /bct Bob //mqp

You may also find the /switch command a good hotkey.

What does /switch do?

Thanks

/switch when used on, or sent to someone (via EQBC) will make them reassist the main tank. It is very helpful if running the MainTank personaly and you need to "change" targets for some reason (i.e Named went invulneranble, had adds spawn, etc) , and want one or all your toons to change target to the new target.

What he said...

Just to recap... typing /mqp will pause a macro that is running OR it will unpause a macro that is paused. This is for kiss, or any other macro you're using.

/switch tells the toon to switch to whatever the MAs target is (as Meistro just said). This is helpful for several reasons.... getting your toon to kill adds while the MA tanks a different mob, but I have found it handy when I land a mez just as a caster is starting to kill the mob. They sometimes get stuck on that mob while everyone else is on another one.

So again... those are good hotkeys to have.

Question, does the hotkey (EQ type macro) send it's text through the EQ Servers? Iirc, many many years ago, there was a time when they did and we had to be cognizant of sending MQ2 stuff through the SOE (hell even Verant) servers. Then, again many many years ago, I could of swore that the MQ2 devs changed it so MQ2 would intercept any MQ2 cmds so they would NOT go through the EQ Servers regardless of which chat window you typed them from. Can this be confirmed?

is there any way to use /mqp so that it will pause the macro even if it is already paused? Im thinking if I had tabbed around and /mqp on one or two guys and then needed to /bca //mqp it would make sure that all chars were paused or unpaused.

EQ hotkeys are stored locally on your PC. You can view them in your "C:/EverQuest/PlayerName_ServerName.ini" file, along with blocked spells and other such stuff. The information there does not get sent to the servers, it is just a form of local scripting.

I have been wondering this same q for a bit now, just busy/ lazy to ask.

Unless there is another cmd, mqpause is a toggle, so if you issuesd a /bca then those that were already paused would resume.

"/mqpause [on|off]"

/mqpause on = "Macro is paused."

wait a bit....

/mqpause on = "Macro is already pause."

(I was curious and tried it ingame just now)

I would test it first but I imagine "/bca //mqpause on" would work like you are wanting
