Problem - Out of Group DPS (1 Viewer)

So, when I have a character out of group they do pretty much nothing. Every now and again they'll buff the MT while he has aggro and get mobs on their xTarget list to attack. Could we add a flag into the INI to support from out of group? I assume it is using xTarget to determine when to attack. When out of group they could use Target of Target to see the MT has something to kill then assist or something of that nature.

I just add the MA that is out of group to my xtar's #5 or #6 slot and it picks him up fine...

I'm using out of group DPS all the time - wizards, rogues, etc - I have them target my main tank when I start kissassist or EOKNuke and they go to town. I don't put my MA on xtar - nada.

They do not assist for me outside of the group unless they are on Xtarget (aka the powerlevel group agros one, then they all will go).

I do this literally every single day and don't have any issues. My out of group enchanter will even mezz (including AE mezz) mobs pulled by my tank/puller in the other group. I haven't had to bother with adding the other group MA to xtar. Now, it might pick stuff up faster if you add the toon, but it hasn't been a factor for me.

I have to do this, or my out of grp dps (wizzy) just stands there.. I even go so far as to set another xtar to 'target of target', so my grp's MA's target shows up too..

even with all this, sometimes I'll alt-tab over and see him just standing there.. if i click on the mob, thus targeting him, everything takes off as intended, but sometimes intermittent strange behaviour...

you might try to find some low level buff or something similar and set it as a heal on the MA at a high % and turn heals on.

Out-of-Group DPS heals MA
Mob now on Out-of-Group X target
system churns along nicely.

This is the right answer. You need to generate aggro of some kind to get the mobs on xtar. You may have better luck with a melee assisting without xtar help but you'll only get the one unless the mobs are social.

That is a good idea! I'll toss a low level buff on the out of group guys!
