Problem - Odd behavior on Burn and Named (1 Viewer)

I recently started customizing the burns and the more I did it, the worst my DPS was getting. Not very intuitive so I started examining what was happening.

If I defined names in kissassist_info.ini then the first problem I encounter is the puller starts spamming the burn text into eqbc. He spams this nonstop every .1s or so based on timestamps. He'll continue to do this until I end the macro or the eqbcs server dies from endless flooding. Once the other toons assist, they also spam the burn text and well the eqbcs server eventually crashes. I don't remember seeing this problem in earlier KAs.

The next problem I am having is the burn does trigger. However, here is an example of my burn

Burn1=Frenzied Burnout
Burn2=Host of the Elements
Burn3=Servant of Ro
Burn4=Improved Twincast
Burn5=Fundament: First Spire of the Elements
Burn6=Fire Core

This is obviously for a mage. Well everything fires off but he does not DPS which explains why my DPS is getting worse and worse. Here is an example for my chanter:

Burn1=Illusions of Grandeur
Burn2=Arcane Whisper
Burn3=Silent Casting
Burn4=Enlightened Focus of Arcanum
Burn5=Improved Twincast
Burn6=Chromatic Haze|Mob
Burn7=Mental Contortion|Mob

Everything in burn fires off but he also doesn't DPS. He won't tash or slow (defined in DPS).

If I define some stuff for my warr (who is doing pullertank duties), he will stop attacking and just target himself. I'm not sure what is causing all these issues. For now, I've removed all burns.

All I had int the warrior's burn was:

[Burn]
BurnText=Decepticons Attack
BurnAllNamed=1
Burn1=Last Stand Discipline Rk.II
Burn2=Imperator's Command
Burn3=Warlord's Tenacity

I then tried:
[Burn]
BurnText=Decepticons Attack
BurnAllNamed=1
Burn1=Last Stand Discipline Rk.II|Me
Burn2=Imperator's Command|Me
Burn3=Warlord's Tenacity|Me

and I think this made it even worse and he would stop attacking. However, both ways, it would just spam eqbc with the burn text and then all the toons would do it and not dps at all.

when you say he/she spams eqbc with burn text do you mean spams "deceptions attack"? if so then its continualy telling them to burn so they wont be able to dps. However there is nothing in KA that would cause EQBC to spam that particular text sequence.

could try changing "Deceptions Attack" to anything else such as "BURN IT DOWN" and see what happens.

strange , {BurnText=Deceptions Attack} should not be echoed by KA, MQ2 , MQ2melee or anything else. its basicly defining text you enter manually to start burn.

since it seems to have started when you modified kissassist_info.ini i would search thru it first.

would also post your full KA ini's for those toons affected

Does it have anything to do with some of these spells being buffs versus spells that do damage? Or maybe one of the spells being cast can't take hold because something stronger/better/anything may be blocking it from being able to hold therefore making the script to burn execute over and over? I ran into issues with buffs not holding because I hit my spells effects cap a few times before I added AAs to allow more effects to stick as well just having more powerful spells on at the time. When I had a spell that cast that was not taking hold it just kept on trying to cast over and over until I removed the higher buff. This is just speculation.

Do you have to add |Once to the end of the spell so it only casts one time versus over and over?

/kisscheck didn't reflect any spell spelling errors or anything did it?

Do you have DPSOn=1 in the config of the toon who is burning but NOT dpsing ????????
Do you have DPS1~??? configured correctly ??????

Would help if you actually posted the full config please, from the toon having the issue.

Actually it wasn't mispelled in the original file.....I just typed it real quick in here. I found out what it was......the ini I had copied and pasted used the burn text Autobots Transform. Looking at KA, this is what is causing the loop. And being lazy, I copied and pasted the same burn text before editing individual burn definition. So, lesson learned....don't use Autobots Transform as the burn text
