Noob needs help (1 Viewer)

Feelin kinda dumb at this point...

I DL'ed MQ2, then I DL'ed a code compile. I opened MQ.exe and the MQ icon appeared and was running. I then opened EQ and then I got a box that said Invalid Client.

I am very new to all of this and need some help. I am running Windows XP, I do not have Visual Studios.net. I have read every thread on how to get started and am totally confused at this point :o Is there someone that can help me through this?
